I can see where you might get confused; however, a closer inspection of the wording of Article 6.1 reveals that it does not say that UPS represents the Brown team, as you assert, rather that the individual signatories of UPS are representatives of Brown, and as such will work to secure Brown stability. OTF, I'm sure, is also a well-regarded member of the sphere, and is of course welcome to set aside minor differences in the interests of unity and stability. Your resignation in the BC embassy states that you left due to a lack of communication between signatories, which is an understanable move; send Finneys13 around more, we'd love to hear from you all, I'm sure.
It doesn't state it either way tbh and could be construed to be either. Also, while I can respect that the UPS alliances wish to work towards Brown stability and unity, I have to question the substance of that provision. What will be deemed to be hazardous to brown unity? Where will the line be drawn?
Edit: I don't give the orders anymore. Singleton is the new PM but I'm sure finneys will see this.

6.1 As representatives of the Brown Team, all members of UPS reserve right to intervene in any situations involving alliances that deemed to be hazardous to brown stability and unity. By no means does this cover individual nations outside of established alliances.
I would like to state that UPS does not represent me, nor does it represent OTF or LEN and therefore it is not the sole representative of the brown team even if the members of UPS think it is.

As this matter now appears to be complete, I will say that I feel that common sense has prevailed. Our name, and our acronym, has been protected by the fair and gracious actions of 1TF. I commend them on this decision. Hopefully the ridiculous posturing of one of their members will not get them into hot water in future.
I also wish to espress the heartfelt thanks of all the OTF Alliance to the alliances and individuals who have supported us in this matter.

I am a founding member of the OTF Alliance. Just like another 25 odd members of the OTF Alliance. I can assure everyone that almost all of the founding members of the OTF Alliance, about 25 of us, remain loyal to the only OTF Alliance. According to Poyples, 2 left.

I am conscious of what you're saying. Hopefully nobody will want to provoke us. The reason behind this is that we do not want the particular group calling themselves the real OTF, who have no affiliation with us, to be mistaken for us. It's just a clarity issue.

There is but one OTF. Any others who abide by the name are those who found the kitchen too hot. I say good luck and God bless. Cheerio. I also demand that they refrain from using any permutation of OTF in their AA.

It is with deep regret that I find myself in the position of having to inform the Cyber Nations community of a sad event in the OTF Alliance.
Today a number of nations left the OTF Alliance and now fly the flag of “The Real OTFâ€. Among their number were a number of government officials. They all leave with our blessing and we will look unkindly at any unprovoked attacks upon them in the near future. We wish them all the very best in their new alliance.

Nickyh v20, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister for External Affairs
Mayzie, former Junior Minister for External Affairs
Our Parliament is in the process of electing a new Prime Minister and I will inform you all of this when the process is complete. In the mean time I will deal with any External Affairs queries personally.
I wish to assure our allies that the OTF Alliance is fully committed to any treaties we have, and are still intent on strengthening relations with all our friends.

The simple facts of the matter are that OTF does condone tech raiding. We do not however outlaw it. Had Freyr and his allies contacted us directly after any raids our members would have accepted peace. Instead they went on the offensive, as is their right, and decided to fight it out. Our members do not have a problem with that and from a simple tech raid we did not escalate the matter even though some in this thread predicted we would.
In the past our members have been subjected to raids of this manner. We did not come on here and start whining. Instead we contacted the relevant alliances and in every single situation bar one, we resolved things diplomatically and even made a few friends along the way.
Anyway Freyr apologised privately for calling us cowards and that is an end to the matter I believe.

My nation lies battered. I have lost thousands of infrastructure levels. The people of my nation have suffered. An awful amount of the money I took from my own pocket has been wasted. Yet I do not regret the war we undertook and I would spend every single cent again. Tyranny shall never succeed! I would always take the same course. And I and none of my people would ever submit to the diabolical stance that the Cartel has taken against us.
The medium and smaller nations of the Cartel have been absolutely destroyed by the gallant forces of OTF. I salute my brave brothers. We do not fear the threat that the hated enemy would try to set among us.

While I know this is small fry to people in big alliances it is very important to us.
Below is my personal statement to the Cartel which I've just sent:
Dear Andrewzinn,I note your message of 8.06pm on 10/09/2007.
The OTF Alliance was attacked without provocation and without justification by a member of you alliance, Nymphoria, who attacked Poyplonia on Friday under the guise of a tech raid. She attacked him again on Saturday. Our Department of External Affairs attempted to commence negotiations by messaging both Lord Mij and Nymphoria. On Saturday evening and again after reset on Sunday morning Lord Mij and you attacked Seanoc without reason.
This was followed by President Alex attacking Seanoc, Gordong also attacking Poyplonia and theidiotnextdoor attacking BCFC Republic. Throughout all this we did not retaliate.
Then Sunday evening and yesterday negotiations continued with Rekall, Mayuri-Sama of our allies NTO also gettng involved. Then when it appears that agreement has been reached Rekall goes AWOL. Only then did we attack. We have been very restrained.
Also the excuses that were being made for Lord Mij were ridiculous. Personal problems and not wanting an alliance wide war, yet he found the time to attack Seanoc on Saturday and Sunday, and me yesterday and today. I am afraid that doesn't tally.
So how do you tie all that in with not wishing to ZI anyone and to end it civilly? Do you expect us to just hand money and tech over to you? We'd rather be destroyed. You will not acheive your apparent aim of bullying us into handing over our resources.
Throughout this the Cartel have been the aggressors. We have now stood up for ourselves. You will not get one ounce of tech from me or my alliance colleagues, even should it mean destruction for many of our members. I have already been threatened with nuclear weapons by one of your members. Let him nuke me if he will, it will only destroy the tech you seem so anxious to get your greasy palm on. Those who have nothing to fear but fear itself will not be intimidated by such threats.

When UPS 2 was being formed I did ask Rorschach if confounded was the right word. I was told it was intentional.
