Among the influx of foreign fighters were Muslim intellectuals, religious figures, corporate, military and retired government officials from around the Islamic world, many having been offered large cash incentives to come and live in the Ghurabaa's war torn territories- even if only for a brief stay- being vetted, briefed on ideology and housed in Mosul. It as then that a strange anomaly stopped everyone in their tracks.
Confused and surprised by communication from a foreign power, and unwilling to allow the Kurds a chance to garner foreign air support, the unit commander ordered a brief response to be broadcast.
