  1. Past month has been steady decline. Lost about 100 over the course of it. We're still likely looking at the dedicated bottom out being in the lower 2000s; the slide to that point is just occurring sooner and faster than I personally expected.

Current projected end date: March 20, 2022 (17 days later than last update on 7/5/20).

  2. While I personally agree with you and the general trend has been dips followed by long periods of level playerbase, those dips have been mostly tied with the turmoil of CN politics. The fact that we've now been consistently in a dipping phase while Bob is generally a quiet place (GRL has almost fallen below 4!) is different from normal. In this case, different isn't good.

I still maintain my comments from the previous page of this thread that CN will bottom out somewhere in the lower 2,000s and stay there for quite a while.

  3. I'm going to start keeping an idea of nations created in the past week when taking notes of total nations. Curious to see how much of the fluctuation in the numbers is due simply to the amount/lack of players signing up in a given week and players who signed up a month ago moving into inactivity.

There's only probably around 2,100-2,300 active nations honestly. You assume 100-150 (which I think is actually a little higher than average) nations get made a week and it takes just over 4 weeks from last logging in to go inactive. That leaves us with 400-600 nations who are at various points of the inactive countdown in game at any given time. Take that from our player count and suddenly Bob just got a heck of a lot smaller...

Another interesting note: we're now at the point that more nations have nukes than don't (58.7%). If you take the more conservative end of the "active" nation count it turns into over two-thirds of nations (70.5%). Every nation could get nuked 12 times right now and there would still be some to spare!

I would love to see a graph of these numbers some day. Perhaps after CN has recovered all its glory

    Mid July 2011 to now.

Over the past year we've only lost a net total of ~100 nations. Based on the trend we're likely going to float in the 2600-2800 range for quite a while; at the least until another alliance or group of players decide it's time to go out swinging. Those events tend to not only see those nations disappear, but some of the opposing nations quit after war sets them back weeks or months of development.

Current average rate of nation loss shows CN lasting to spring 2022, though realistically there will probably still be some nations through 2025 if the lights stay on.

  5. Using the spreadsheet that got linked on the last page following the average loss per day between 2011 and now CN's death date falls around mid-April 2021.

However, as pointed out before the curve of nation loss is evening out. I agree there is a threshold somewhere in the lower 2,000s that won't be passed for a long time (or until the plug gets pulled).

As an example, if the average loss per day from the beginning of 2018 until now is used the death date changes to August 1, 2023.

  6. "... And the gates came crashing down, the scandalous lies revealed. Those on the Planet Steve rejoiced, they saw this was the reckoning. The end of the Flag Runner's Era had begun. The cannons fired on the first day they could; those who had cheated the system stood ready to pay the price for their crimes. They have endured, but now they face the full wrath. The veil of truth was upon the United Nations. It was the day of IRON."

And now, another announcement from your Independent Republic of Orange Nations

TE has seen for two rounds now what the United Nations is about. They find whatever means are necessary for them to win their precious awards. Last round, those with honor showed that they were tired of it, and made their best to say no more. But the creation of multiple "SE/RL Friends," almost 40 of them, on the last day led the United Nations to again steal the award from those who showed true dedication to Planet Steve and the competition that should be fostered.

We have now sat at the table, and IRON along with many others have agreed it is the time to end this once and for all. DEFCON 1 lit the torch, and now we take over for them.

IRON hereby declares war on the United Nations

We understand that with this there's going to be a lot of moaning and complaining by the UN...

So we got these for you ;)

I also think that this award should be removed, and possibly replaced. What, if any, award would people like to see instead?

Translation: Let's figure out another one that I can manipulate the system to win through the use of all my "friends."

We still expect UN to start with 60 members you'll personally revitalize the TE community!

  8. And now, another friendly announcement from your INDEPENDENT REPUBLIC OF ORANGE NATIONS

As we close in on the end of the round, it's time to show once more that the IRON Steam Roller is as ready as ever for the challenges before it. Today, the Roller found a lonely D1 roaming the streets of Steve. We have photo evidence of what happened shortly thereafter.

    Long story short;

IRON activates it's Steam Roller on DEFCON1

Oh sorry were you wanting to fight us again? Sorry for tucking tail and running. You are always welcome to attack after we are already in war. You know standard stuff.

Is my ego too big? Come take it down yourself? Send anyone and everyone you can muster?

You are a disgrace to the magnificence of IRON. albeit new in TE, I have great respect for a former DuckRoll Brother.

You couldnt even put aside petty differences for the betterment of United Nations.

Keep talking crap but its we who have made the sacrifices, and will continue to do so for the greater good of the AA.

As far as it seemed to us, UN nations economy was in disarray, and for all the coaching you had received, you had achieved NOTHING!

Just ran the stats... It appears the "IRON steam roller" got rolled... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12IX5uryk49dDQpkOhrUFxTdzCDNu10ZJh8GzNAOhDrM/edit?usp=sharing

In all seriousness, it was a very fun, and extremely challenging, war. I hope we do it again sometime! :P

    o/ United Nations

    o/ IRON

Some re-looking of stats needs to be done, but it is pretty apparent the "almighty" UN and their beliefs on WCs got quite shown up by high-level coordination tactics, considering the level of bragging they put into these super destructive WRCs they were (trying to) tout.

Lol, we're definitely trying to fill our slots in order to avoid IRON.

I'm not saying you influenced him—this time, at least. But, he idolizes you and agrees with everything you say because you stroked his ego.

My comment about giving IRON more time to build warchests was genuine. Take Sparta and Secor, for instance. They have 14 million and 20 million dollars left, respectively. They'll be near ZI after the war, without practically any chance at playing a major role in the end of round fun. None of us wanted that.

To be fair I haven't had a full conversation with HG in quite some time, so I wouldn't say I idolize or agree with everything from him. I will admit however he taught me a lot about this game and for that he has my full respect.

You still have no idea what I was saying and of course people use defensive wars to coordinate if it is possible but it's planned coordination that is organized and you need to use your offensive war slots for this.

As for your comment about LS being a pawn of D1, we have not influenced LS or IRON in anyway to take this action. IRON are doing their own thing for themselves and we don't have any problems with that. You shouldn't have avoided them cos it was not honorable, it was more insulting to avoid them and pretend they're not ready, it's been 2 weeks since their last war and they still had a lot of tech left so you can drop the "they weren't ready" garbage. The real reason was to deny D1 kills by taking WotN, NLoN, and RE to war first then quickly followed by IRON.

Also I'm sure the war with WotN was yet another planned exercise, no doubt bundy is helping you all win flags as he always has.

HG you should see the little tidbit from the WotN peace declaration thread... It's interesting that there's still a lot of slots Wolves occupy... Also for trying to peace out they seem to like using nuke slots too...

Due to this screenshot I do not Al... It was obvious from the start UN was trying to avoid us, and them intentionally keeping their slots closed from IRON proves how cowardly they are. I would encourage WotN utilize those slots in coordination with IRON if UN is going to try and hide behind them :)

Everyone knows we set our eyes on msk; it's no secret. But kills are not, and literally cannot be, the only thing that drives our war decisions.

Avoiding IRON is not in our best interests, and is not what we strived—or strive—to do.

Anyway, having said that, we welcome IRON!

If avoiding IRON wasn't in your best interests, then why did you do it...

  15. 2 hours ago, Das Blitzkrieger said:

Yes, declaring solely on IRON would have been a lost cause.

Most of your nations have between 50 and 100 million dollars; most of our nations have between 250 and 400 million dollars. If we went all out on IRON, you'd be facing 10-12 nations with 2.5k tech WRCs, in which case, you never would have recovered.

So, after a lot of deliberation, we decided to fight another alliance in order to give IRON some more time to build up warchests. We planned to hit you right after our war with WoTN, RE, and NLON, when we'd have lower infra and the playing field would be more even.

In short, there was nothing from which to flee except the dishonor in rolling IRON. Your alliance is filled with excellent fighters, and wasting that excellence in an unfair matchup this early in the round certainly would have been a lost cause.

LMFAO I love this... I need to start saving all the BS that UN spills on the OWF, you can't make it up

    1 hour ago, HiredGun said:

What a pile of rubbish this is when instead you hit a bunch of alliances historically know to have low cash in the bank.

The real plan here was to deny D1 opponents and kills.

This is absolutely true. I know for a fact that UN specifically is targeting the "Most Soldiers Killed" award. Their declaration was specifically to deny D1 more kills (because we all know UN still can't win these things on their own) because they guessed we were out for them, and now everyone can see their colors.

44 minutes ago, Das Blitzkrieger said:

You missed the entire point of my post. We hit WoTN, RE, and NLON with the intention that we would not go all out with WRCs, high tech, etc. Conversely, we planned to go all out against IRON. But, if we did that now, it would have been extremely lopsided. Instead, we intended to give IRON time for another rebuild and collect before they fight us.

If we simply wanted to deny D1 opponents and kills, we would have hit Wolves, RE, NLON and IRON. Awards are nice, yes, but they're not the only thing we care about. Fun and well-fought wars are the best. Maybe, if you focused more on your alliance fighting well and less on accumulating kills for D1, you might have won a war this round. Instead, you're 0-4. Consequently, I have a hard time taking seriously any advice, comments, or criticism you provide about war declarations or tactics.

Once again, you can't make this crap up lmao!

Now, on another note... UN care to explain yourselves?
