1. I'm sure this discussion has taken place on the MK threads, but I'm not able to post there as I barley have the time to post twice a month on LoSS's forums let alone anywhere else. (Notice post count compared to join date)

For the next fundraiser I'd like to put in this suggestion: http://www.childsplaycharity.org/. I do so because we are an online game site and Childsplay is big in the gaming industry when it comes to charity, as any fan of Penny Arcade can attest to. It's one I have donated to a couple of times and offers other methods of donations besides cash, though I guess you still have to use cash to buy the game you are donating. Anyway, it's just a thought.

And it does allow for Paypal.

I haven't been around for 4 months and I still shake my head at thinking about people leaving when things don't go their way instead of sticking around to make it better. ragequit and leaving for a breather is two different things.

  3. Most alliances just attack and zi people that sellout and abandon them during war...no not LOSS, we are classier than that....We just belittle the hell out of you. You deserve worse, but take what you can get.

That's a good point, but I just don't think an alliance at war can properly get recruits interested in the game. Maybe I'm wrong, but in my mind a warring alliance will generally pay less attentions to new members, not to mention that with the flurry of war activity on an alliance's forums its much easier to get confused.

I suppose we'll see in good time. I do hope that all of LoSS' recruits continue playing, but I suspect a vast majority will not. :(

A lot of time, war keeps new recruits real interested in the game. Some people say war is the best part about it, so with a massive war going in yeah they get to jump right in and have fun with it. When people sign up its explained to them what is going on. As for the "generally pay less attention to new members," I don't know how your alliance works, but in LOSS our new members and old members have more constant interaction during war time than during peace. Everyone is around for the party. So during peace its the mundane every day stuff like learning and this and that, during war its one big party. And the confusion part, well, simplification works. During war time, everything is streamlined so it makes for less confusion. I don't know, maybe its just LOSS, but that, in my mind, is how things go during war time.

You've recruited over 100 new nations since our war began. They are almost all sub 3k strength, but just from the membership count they prop you up a good one or two points; you probably wouldn't even be in the race without them.

We have stayed pretty consistent when it comes to recruiting both pre and during war. Can't stop recruiting because of the war.

As for RIA, I do give you props, I always enjoy when a new alliance can breach that sanction barrier. Change is good.
