That's quite useful. It would be nice if we could get decent sized PNG images from all alliances too (although I imagine this would be a lot of work). SVG and small quality images are annoying to work with :s

It looks more professional this way IMO. Plus, clicking on them gives you the big version.

I move this gets pinned (perhaps in the PCA forum?).

I'm curious about your unique rhetorical perspective, which is almost entirely why I joined your alliance for a significant period of time, and will be applying as soon as an application becomes available. As a recent college student, I sincerely hope you strategically begin courses after "finals season."

If I recall correctly, the forum only allows one to view his or her posts from the past year. As such, my better posts would be practically impossible to find. Perhaps an interview process is in order?

I second that an interview process would be a better idea.

Also, NEW could use this for recruiting from their home world as well.

Rolling off of this idea, we could used more themed alliances. More alliances like Ragnarok, Asgaard, Mostly Harmless Alliance, NEW, etc. Alliances with a specific theme can appeal to other lovers of the said theme. As most of us agreed in a past thread, people stick around for the community. After finally working up to tech buyer, getting wonders, waiting around for things to happen gets really, really, boring. MHA can appeal to Hitchhiker fans, Asgaard and Ragnarok to Norse mythology enthusiasts/ fans, you get the picture.

If alliances had active, pointed communities (I'm not insulting anyone's alliance) then people would want to stick around once their nation grows boring.

thx, but how do I transfer tpaint to the forum?

Are you asking how to get a created image in here? Either upload it to Imageshack or Photobucket. Then paste the url here in image tags [ img ] [ /img ]

    This made me laugh.

I would not disagree with you when you say that we need more antagonists around these parts, but this just seems so... ambitious. Do you think that you'll be able to keep student's attention long enough for them to complete their goals and assignments? What kind of students are you looking for, ideally? I presume not old folks, but who does that leave? Youngins? Mid-level guys? Older guys just now getting into politics?

25 year olds who recently quit their job because the boss was a dick and the pay wasn't worth it?

I don't know how many students you planned on taking here, but I'm in.

  6. It might have been mentioned already, but PT has been down about a month and was full of CN members anyhow.

Off-site recruiting is fine, and I've gotten a few members in NATO that way, but ultimately its a hassle during wartime. Having to focus on that rather than the war, coupled with the fact that most of them will just quit when its over, adding more work, makes it rather worthless. It's a nice thought though.

Anyone have any ideas on these?

One of my last posts has a spreadsheet of all the #1 ranking alliances back from when the ASR started in '07. The longest is MHA's current streak, unless someone can find proof of 06-07, wherein NPO can probably take the cake.

Largest war by alliance count is easily the Karma War. Now, largest war coalition? If you mean side vs. side, then Karma. But the alliances "in" Karma fought all different alliances and for different reasons, it's not like they all were fighting and coordinating together. For specific military alliances fighting in a war, its The Initiative from GWII as far as I can tell.

The topic is too subjective. What is Electron sponge with out 404? It depends on your view point for who is what. This would turn into a popularity contest in current format.

For a hall of fame like this to work, it would have to have era time frames in which ALL notable members of that time were inducted. It's politics. With out one there can not be the other.

I think some other members nailed it on the head so far when they broke up their selections by time and alliance.
    [/quote]
I absolutely get what you're saying, but if we did a vote of the most legendary players in CN, complete with bios who credit players such as 404 to Sponge, it may not be perfect, but it could work.

If you're using VE and their reformation as one I guess Nordreich count as being 9-0. October Massacre, Maroon War, Great War 2, Saint Patrick's Day War, Great War 3, Karma, BiPolar, PB-NpO, DH-NPO. We list the last two and two different wars due to it being two completely different fronts, at least from our fighting perspective. Now if you wanted to include Norden Verein which is arguably an incarnation of Nordreich it gets slightly more complicated. I personally would include it, but that's my bias seeing as that's where I got my start in the Nordland. But the argument could easily be made. Under certain wins NoV gets the ICP Reformation War and the Unjust War. Bringing the total to 11-0. One could easily argue that NoV had a tactical victory in the LSF-NoV war for a long time seeing as LSF only really attained peace when NoV was defeated for it's only loss in the Continuum-NoV war. Including NoV's wars, I see the total being at 12-1.

Just something to consider I suppose.

    *edit
I guess one could potentially also include the recent time when TGE reformed, got destroyed, surrendered, and disbanded. I suppose there wasn't much in the way of official declarations but it could certainly count as another victory. Nordreich did eventually aid TGE in reforming but the argument could still be made for a victory over a declared, and functioning alliance.
    [/quote]
I didn't go too indepth into it, just took the VE reform wiki page war stats. I suppose we should split it up as they're not the same alliance technically.

Obviously war results can be interpreted many different ways. I took what was listed on the wiki. I looked through the sanctioned, and then followed treaty partners all over... didn't get to every alliance, and only paid attention to the ones with a chart of victories and defeats. Percentage is more important than the number of victories you could agree, so even if NoV was 12-1, Sparta being 11-0 is still more impressive.

WAPA lost the first part of the Karma War, won the C&G part. It could be considered two separate wars, but they're still the losingest (?) I could find.

    Longest #1 alliance?
    [/quote]
As far as I can tell, the ASR started in April of 07. At least that's the earliest link I could find, and so I started my simple spreedsheat from that point. Several other threads have been created on the old forums, and three or four different ones on the new forums. Here's what I got:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqPJuDSTyaKCdHQwX0xZamQ2SjQ1MFotTWlaYzQzaXc

Feel free to edit and change if you have updates. MHA's current streak appears to be the longest, unless someone can find stats from 06-07.

  10. Longest alliance seniority, [url=http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=351]Warren Harding of Logan[/url], ODN. I'll edit more later.

[url=http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Sparta]Sparta[/url] is the most winning of all the alliances I looked through, 11-0. This includes the Unjust War, Continuum-NoV War, WotC, Karma War, the Second Unjust War, and several others. [url=http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Mostly_Harmless_Alliance]MHA[/url] is a close runner up at 8-0, fighting in such wars as GWIII, Unjust War, Karma War, and the BiPolar War. [url=http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Ragnarok]Ragnarok[/url] is another good runner up at 10-1, losing only the PB-NpO War, winning such wars as WotC, Karma War, and the TOP-CnG War. [url=http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Viridian_Entente_(2nd)]VE[/url] is 11-1, losing only the Green Civil War. VE has won such wars as the GWII, GWIII, Unjust War, WotC, Karma War, and the BiPolar War.

[url=http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/North_Atlantic_Defense_Coalition]NADC[/url] is one of the most losing alliances, winning only the October Massacre back in '06. They lost the BLEU-NADC War ('08), and have been granted white peace ever since. Their record stands at 1-1-5 (W-L-D). [url="http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/We_Are_Perth_Army"]WAPA[/url] is the worst I could find at 0-4-2.

Dilber, Archon and Sponge are my top3. I'm unsure where to put Ivan since I wasn't here when he was in power.
    [/quote]
Solid top 3. Ivan would have to be first though... I wasn't around while he was very long, but he's unquestionably the most influential on the game. Egore could probably be in the top 10 as well.
