  1. o/ Egore.

I have nothing to add to this. Honestly, I love all the members of the Brigade. Quite a few of us ruled Battledawn together under the mantel of the Entente. So it saddens me to see things come to this.

Ghaffari, the Entente may be ruled by a despot or dictator, but to assume such a thing is of a pejorative nature is a falsehood. Cybernations' alliances are best ruled by a single monarch, as has been proven over and over in terms of success and efficiency. Democracy has its part in smaller electoral offices, but not much past that. And Egore was one hell of a despot.

    o/ Egore.

  2. *sigh*

Totally missed the point of the dignity line. But oh well.

This. The dignity line is a well-thought out idea and you decided to completely disregard it.

The point of this is to be competitive in the sanction race, not just have your name up there, no offense. Half of the lowest sanctioned alliance's score is a fair estimate of competitive. The only reason alliances below it aren't taken off is to prevent one bad day that might be quickly rebounded upon from taking an alliance off the list unnecessarily.

Smart idea, Goph. Apparently too smart.

  3. I'm only doing this because Starfox made this topic and he's basically the man.

    1) The Grämlins (Green)

    2) New Pacific Order (They're just awesome.)

    3) Independent Republic of Orange Nations (Former member ahoy)

    4) Old Guard (Salt likes them and Arm_red is in them. Enough said.)

5)The Order of the Paradox (They created a new genre of alliance and made it stick. Not half bad.)

    6) The Phoenix Federation

    7) FOK!

    8) Multicolored Cross-X Alliance (Pick a color, damnit)

    9) Valhalla

    10) North Atlantic Treaty Organization

    11) Mostly Harmless Alliance ($@!-kissing rules)

    12) Sparta (Bumming off the 300 craze gave me a bad taste in my mouth. It's not gone.)

  4. I've been Head of Recruitment for VE since November, watching as we've grown from an alliance of a mere hundred to sanction level. I know the intricacies of various recruitment success stories, such as TOOL, Atlantis, and, of course, VE.

Simply put, recruiting is most effective when directed towards brand new nations in spam format. With that, you can hope of pulling in 2-3% new recruits out of those to whom messages are sent out. Personalization does not raise this percentage enough to justify the hindrance it places on each recruiter in terms of extra time spent.

If one or two nations don't join because they see you're not paying them special attention, that's fine as long as you're reeling in the other five or six that show interest. Short term, it may seem like you're doing yourself a disservice, but really, you're just getting more done.

  5. Seriously, are you guys bitter that you may actually get some competition by trying to get the majority of ex Atlantis people?

Edit: and this comes from a guy who left the game in a nuclear spree.

That is, if we were trying to get ex-Atlantis people, instead of them just coming to us. Our active recruitment efforts aren't directed towards corpses, as Kaiser so accurately put it.

And are you referring to me? If so, I don't see the relation or bearing that such holds.

Its the sanction race guys. They are doing what is legal to get ahead. Recruiting from None happens

Except we're not talking about recruiting from None. We're talking about recruiting from Atlantis.
