  1. I can tell you, as a GOON during and prior to the UJW. There was no great hate of NPO. We talked #&$% about NPO, along with every other ally, alliance, and our own members. That was just GOON style. The only Order we hated was of the Polar persuasion and that's because of the demeaning, pathetic leadership they had.

    Edit:

As a member of GOONS I fought 3 rounds of nuclear offensive wars in the FAN war. Most of us were eager to get a target and took multiple ones.

    Wow. I'm agreeing with Crohl.

That's a rare one. But the man is correct on all accounts.

Our decision to end our involvement in the WUT was the result of being placed in an impossible position - having to choose between our friends. We do not violate treaties, and we do not fail to live up to our commitments. At the time, the only way we could be fair to all of our treaty partners was to end the treaties that would have been impacted and step back. That war was not our war.
No, it wasn't a violation of the treaty. And no, the Ordinance of Orders was not impacted because Sponge specifically told us that he didn't want us getting involved. We offered, he declined. As far as the terms of the treaty were concerned, they were fulfilled.

Wait, let me see if I'm reading this right. You left WUT because this wasn't your war, and you didn't want to choose between friends.

But then you asked Polar if they wanted help? Isn't that... just waiting till one side starts winning then supporting said side?

  2. Yeah, because it's much more likely I'm making things up over a year after the fact when it doesn't particularly matter because the past can't be changed. I'm telling you what we knew, and why we made did the actions we did.

There's always reason to change the view of the past, especially if it makes you look better.

In regards to GOONs overall, it makes a lot more sense when you realize exactly how few of them really fought in the FAN war, and how their promised aid to us kept getting delayed, over and over. GOONs gov played it wonderfully.

Well, I fought against FAN in GOONS, so did every other irc active member I knew. Claiming they played a small role is false.

Also: I'd like to see an NADC or FAN member in here too. I've already talked to GOONS gov, and they say it never happened. You'd think, you know, since they don't play anymore they wouldn't have reason to lie. They can't be trying to further an agenda.

  3. The actual evidence itself was there. The SAmulticore log was much later, and was him admitting it.

But you cited the SAMulticore log as proof, even though it happened after the fact.

The GOONs post prior to the first FAN war, where Dizzy pretty much stated "Had you invited us, we'd have joined" was pretty much accurate. There had been a meeting between NADC, FAN, and GOONs prior to the FAN war, with NADC pulling out because they thought it had been a trap.

    Proof?

  4. We're not stupid. We had intel about GOONs that went a bit back, and we knew we were next on their list. Why the $%&@ would we have sided with you?

You do realize that pretty much all NPO hate came from certain members all riled up, and not from Gov? Mostly people like TruHartBrkn who got kicked for cursing out GOONS female Minister whose name started with an S after she ASKED him to stop talking about killing NPO?

Or when he then posted SS from GOONS forums on the OWF and PMed them all over the place, then joined NPO? After spying on GOONS?

Or are you talking about the spy UndercoverGoon? That one was funny.

  5. Actually ... didn't the New Polar Order just now prove you don't have to attack someone to get in the sanction list? Just wanted to review, since you seem of the opinion war has to happen to change positions and all.

Congratulations are in order, though; hard work like this is commendable. Hopefully it won't be sullied by bashing; how's that classy? Better to just reap the benefit of organising and orchestrating the rise back to sanctioned status.

Or should we yell 'predictable!' and deride it as such? So much of that lately ... best to not think on those lines.

I think he meant war was the only way for GGA to get a spot :)

Darn you Hyperion! Beating me to the punch!

  6. I mean sure, with the nonsensical restrictions on aid and other such, you may not have thought it would happen this quickly. But yeah, Polaris was going to get it's sanction back. They're that good.

With such harsh terms Polar was forced to better themselves in so many ways. Organization primarily :)

I'm happy to see this. Very happy. I knew from the moment I talked to Fallen_Fool in query that this would happen again, and it comes as 100% proof that Polaris is in fact one of the best alliances. Intelligent, organized, and ballsy.

    Obligatory o/ Polaris

  7. You won't see any post about a Citadel member wanting to go to war with the Continuum because that idea is only being pushed by those outside the two blocs. Those people need to get it through their heads that we(Citadel) are not here to provide them with any entertainment nor to help them in any political revolution. You have no idea how many queries/PMs I've received by random people who want us to liberate the world from their oppressive overlords or some other nonsense. Its extremely irritating.

    This is large amounts.

Considering Grämlins amazing allies of TOP and OG are in Continuum, as well as our buds at MHA, FOK and MCXA, almost all of Citadel is tied to Continuum anyway through real friendship. There is no reason thus far to break that, and I doubt there ever will be.

So, to all those dreaming of some revolution: Sorry, we aren't your crusader.

  8. Thank you for that full and developed rebuttal. How could I have been so foolish. But if you have anything other than tiresome trolls, I'd be more interested in those.

I'm fairly sure there is nothing more to be said. This subject has been beaten into the ground over and over and over. It doesn't even deserve one word lines anymore. You lost, but you won the game. It's okay to have one tiny little spill on that flawless record of yours.

Just accept it for what it is.

  9. 2. It was a victory, for my side. With almost all of Planet Bob on your side, the best you could get out of us was a half-hearted apology? That is your victory? We fought the entire world to a stalemate and never backed off, never gave an inch, and in the end your side got nothing tangible from us. Even the apology was retracted, and rightfully so since we fought on the side of justice. Within a couple of weeks we were once again the top alliance on Planet Bob. We won the war.

Usually being forced to do something for the war to end means you lost, and got very lenient and acceptable terms.

As much as I like you boys in NPO, this is a pet peeve of mine. Just because you got terms insanely lenient, then didn't follow them, does not mean that you won the war.

Nice attempt at historical revisionism, though.

Says the man claiming he won a war that he was forced to apologize for.

  10. This is a more respectable opinion than "government=alliance" but we aren't looking at the actions of the alliance in this case. We are looking specifically at two people and THEIR motives, specifically Penchuk's motives and NC's motives. The two motives are not the same.

An excellent example would be MDPs chaining in such a way that you end up getting involved with powers that you originally had no quarrel with. If, say, I despised Gramlins and attack your alliance, that would not mean that I wanted to attack FCC, TOP, Umbrella, and Old Guard as well. That's not my intention: it is only the result of the allegiances that you Citadel chose to hold.

Comparing alliances and alliance members is flawed.

Fact is, NC said GR were "scum" and was an MCXA gov member, who threatened a GR gov member. Your personal beliefs aside (and my own, for that matter), here on Bob that is a threat to an alliance. There are far too many precedents here to deny it.

  11. Sounds like something a certain someone would say: "I am NPO/VE/GR/MCXA!"

The government is not the alliance. The alliance consists of the members. Government members serve to guide the alliance. They are servants of the alliance, not the alliance itself.

Please note that NC also did not know that PS was a government member when he made his statement, so the threat, again, was not directly against GR. I dislike certain members of certain alliances, but that doesn't mean I despise the entire alliance.

Alliances are bound to defend their members. If you threaten a member of an alliance, the alliance has to retaliate. So you're threatening the alliance as a whole.
