  1. I know. It's such a wonderful tool of logic. Amazing the number of people that think it's a fallacy for some reason, isn't it?

Yup. The exact same number of people who aren't in touch with common sense.

  2. the reason CN is not as "exciting" is because wars have become more about political position and less about actually fighting

Very true. Alliances now LOOK for reasons to kill other alliances (this war is an example of that) instead of trying to live in peaceful harmony with allies. Alliances now focus on enemies rather than allies, which is why so many treaties are now signed and canceled. That's why alliances will cancel because they feel uncomfortable about the treaty because their "allies" are now in a war.

If people would start focusing on the friendship they have with their allies instead of the hatred they have for their enemies simply due to political standpoint, then crappy reasons would not come about for war and this dishonorable stage of CN might actually come to a close.

  3. You know, you lot can all argue day and night about the strength or lack thereof in the CB, but it doesn't really matter. You're going to follow your treaties and go with what will best keep you alive, as opposed to going off of how you feel about the catalyst of the war. So...who cares?

    You're a wise man, Archon.

The war has already begun and I really doubt that GGA and Valhalla will end it simply because a bunch of people don't agree with the CB. So, there truly is no point in debating this. The war has started, and the war will expand, and nobody is going to stop that. The only thing anyone can do now is fight with honor and work on a peaceful resolution.

  4. So, you all sign a treaty, but when tensions come about you change your mind. Signing a pact means that you will stick with it and you won't give up on it unless the treaty partner has wronged you. Alliances who sign otherwise do not take their treaties seriously, and are the types of alliances you would expect not to honor their pacts.

    Ah well. Have fun, NATO.

  5. You are. The most likely answer is that GGA & Valhalla considered all those things and then thought... so what? Hyperion should be smashed and so we shall smash them verily. I think it's far more to do with being apathetic to whether GR, NpO or a whole troupe of alliances I've never heard of join in than some grand scheme to pull our enemies into a massive war. If they want to hop on board the pain train, we'll be more than happy to punch their ticket. Otherwise, they'll do the smart thing and wave goodbye to a useless alliance on it's way out.

So, not honoring treaties is now the smart thing to do? Sounds like a way to live like cowards to me.

  6. My memory might be a bit worse now that I've been playing CN for awhile, but I would like to point out one interesting point.

FAN was kicked out of the Initiative and attacked for various reasons. One of them was attacks on a protectorate of the NPO. Now then, those alliances attacking Hyperion have basically done the exact same thing as Hyperion is a protectorate of GR.

Now, some may ask why FAN ended up in eternal war and those alliances attacking Hyperion get no punishment. I can answer that simply, and its because this community won't give up on the Might Makes Right principle. Its a terrible principle, but the community doesn't care.

    Just food for the brain.
