1. Gary, Oliver, and Doc were armed and waiting with Alpha and his team. "So genius, what's your plan to intercept the targets?" Gary asked.
----
The Viperfish had finally arrived in Eggman Empire. Slipping quietly into a secluded naval port in the dead of night, it rose to the surface and moored itself to a dock. Alex led Christa off the sub and brought her to a group of Guardian APCs nearby. There, amid other Smilers, a mad with a mask awaited them. "Greetings." He said, his voice distorted. He was using the same type of scrambler that the man Christa had talked to on the sub was using. Or maybe he was him. Christa reached to shake his hand and in return he held out a small stack of papers. "Before we go anywhere from here, we would like you to sign these Mrs. Hamas. They state that you came here of your own free will, that you request an asylum, and that you wish for you and your family to become citizens of the Eggman Empire. Here." He handed her the papers and a pen.

2. "Unless you have the sanctioned approval of my boss and the paperwork the back it up, I'm not interested. Now go on and take your cavalcade of thugs away from here." Gary said. He was not interested in surprise help and was angry at himself for not noticing the straggler, but if the goo hit the fan, Doc and Oliver would come out of their hiding spots and take out the rest.

3. Gary shrugged. "And you should've had someone pull security on the door so I didn't get the chance to put a barrel to your head. Guess we all make mistakes. Now, I don't know who you are or what you want, but I don't need any trouble right now so how about I release you and you fellows bugger off somewheres else." He said, pushing the muzzle into the man's forehead a bit harder.

4. The other two woke before Gary could tap them on their shoulders. They were all thinking the same thing. Intruders. Heavy footfalls indicated there were multiple hostiles wearing gear. Gary tapped his Eagle against his kneecap and arm. Disabling shots unless they had to cornered and forced to kill. The Smilers wanted to know who they were dealing with. They quickly came up with a plan.
----
As the intruders got closer, they heard a noise from one of the rooms. After a quick stack-up, they breached and swept the old apartment. There in the center was the captured LTG member; tied up and helpless. With their attention focused elsewhere, the Smilers were free to sneak up on the intruding team. With the other two outside the room providing back-up, Gary snuck in and suddenly grabbed the man closest to him and pressed his Eagle to that man's head. "It's rude not to knock." He stated tersely. "Move and I'll blow his head off." Gary said as the men reached for their weapons.

5. "They're not following. I guess they still think we're those LTG schmucks from around here." Oliver reported, looking in his mirrors. Gary breathed a sigh of relief.

"Good. The last thing we need is more heat. Now we need to find a less suspicious mode of transport." He said. The LTG member began mumbling again and Doc gagged him. Another knock on the noggin would be bad for his brain. Gary looked wearily out the window in hopes of finding a place they could crash. Despite not showing it, all three of them had been up for over 72 hours since any of them had a decent rest. And though Smilers could stay awake longer then normal humans, they still needed sleep eventually. "Over there." Gary said, pointing to a derelict building. After a few minutes of scouting, they determined that no one lived there. They hid the van with some old tarps lying around and settled in for a nap. Gary took first watch, listing to the radio they had brought with them from the LTG's van. His channel of choice? A Eggman Empire number station that would keep him apprised of the current situation.

"Yes, well, the "closet" comment was a joke, mind you." The mystery man told Christa. "There is another important issue we must discuss with you. In order for this to have legal protection, I suggest you ask the Eggman Empire to provide you and your family an asylum. Thus, if anyone does find out where you're at, it will won't look like we kidnapped you. All you need to do is have a written document claiming you feared for the lives of your family and yourself when you stayed in your old country. And that you contacted us for protection. After the asylum is written up, I'm sure we can also start working on giving you temporary or permanent citizenship. What do you think?" The man asked Christa.

6. "CHEEZE IT!" Gary exclaimed. Oliver stamped on the gas and tore out of the alley-way. The van speed away from the police station in record time. The trio cursed. The last thing they wanted was to get involved in another high-speed chase.

"So, Mrs. Hamas, if once reunited with your family, you could care less if all three of you were stuffed into a closet for the next twenty years; only seeing the light of day when we drag one of you out for tissue extraction or testing?" The censored man asked her. "Want we want is to make you comfortable. Surely there's something you must want in exchange for working with us and donating your tissue." He pressed.

7. Gary divided up the doughnuts the woman had brought and gave the other coffee to Oliver; Doc didn't want any. Gary then decided to let his partners know what was going on. "Whoever she is, she knows something's up. My guess is LTG. If she was a cop, she'd probably have tried something. So our cover is blown but they can't get us 'cuz the cops are right next door. Therefore, they'll try to do things quietly. That meaning when we go out for supplies or bodily functions, they'll try to get us. I know everyone here won't have a problem with amateur assassination attempts, I'm just letting you all know to keep things quiet. No guns, and no bloodstains on walls. Got it?" He directed that last part at Doc who merely shrugged and rolled his eyes. "Right, it's been a while since we've had some sleep. I'll take first watch, Oliver will have second, and Doc will be third. Any questions." The other two shook their head and Gary nodded. "Good. Make yourselves comfortable. This is going to be a long haul."

*back on the sub.*
"I understand your concern for your husband and child. Don't worry as we have our finest agents working on extracting them." Even with the voice distorter, it sounded like he wouldn't care if her family spontaneously combusted. "But aside from that point...Mrs. Hamas, you understand that at this current moment, you're something of a commodity, right?" Without waiting for a reply, he continued. "Now obviously you understand the amount of trouble we had to go through to get you, so it's clear we'd rather not loose you to someone else. So, my question for you is: Besides being back together with your family, is there any other conditions you have?"

8. The Smilers noticed the woman walk up to their vehicle and came up with a cunning plan. Oliver got out of the car, walked to the woman, looked her strait in the eye and said "Thanks! I LOVE free samples!" Before swiping the food and scurrying back into the van.
------
In the meantime, the Viperfish had got out to open sea and was making it's way home. And there was someone who wanted to talk to Christa. She'd been taken to the communications center and placed in front of a screen. Next to her was a web cam-n-micphone device. The screen turned on to reveal a man whose face was blocked out. "Greetings Mrs. Hamas. Enjoying your trip so far?" There was a sound distorter preventing Christa from hearing his actual voice.

9. Gary put two and two together. He smiled cordially at the man. "Thank you. You've been a wonderful help!" Gary said, before cracking the man over the head with his Eagle. As the man slumped over unconscious, Gary patted Oliver on the shoulder. "3120 South Halsted Street. That's where our targets are at. Be on the look-out for other LTG vans. Lets go." Oliver nodded and stepped on the gas. They soon made their way to the police station. After they parked the van in a spot where it wouldn't be noticed, they settled down and waited for something to happen.

10. Gary shrugged and took the phone. In retrospect, he probably should've checked to see if it was transmitting before he started talking. "Yeah boss?" He said, trying to sound as sleepy as possible. He also hoped it would disguise his voice. For one, he was 18, and two, the augmentation left his voice a bit raspy. Doc started to lightly poke the hapless LTG member with his scalpel and quietly humming a tune.

11. Gary calmly looked to the radio then back at the man. "Answer it. Tell him you had a flat tire, but you're on your way now." As the man reached over to the radio, Gary suddenly grabbed him by the shoulder and spun the LTG member around to face him. "And by the way, you can rat us out all you want. But you see my friend over there?" He gestured to Doc, who produced a scalpel and licked it with his tongue. "He'll carve you up like a jack-o-lantern and stick a candle in your empty skull. Understood?" The man bobbed his head up and down furiously. Gary smiled warmly and placed the radio-phone in the man's hand. "I'm sure you'll handle it nicely." He said, leaning back.

12. ooc: Holy sweet beet bags writers block sucks. Btw, did you give the family a last name?

IC: A devious smirk played over Gary's features. "I have a cunning plan!" He stated. Gary scurried down the road after the van and found a decent sized rock. Still running, he hurled the rock with all his might. The rock shot towards the van and smashed into the back window. The van screeched to a halt and an inquisitive LTG member poked his head out to see what was what. *Blam!* It disappeared in a spray of red as Gary sprinted over to the door and leaped inside before it could take off. The van accelerated a few yards before jerking to another halt.

Gary then jumped out of the back; bloodstained and a frightened prisoner in tow. "Got us a ride and someone with intel!" He cried triumphantly. Oliver and the Doc looked at each other and shrugged. The two made their way to the van and Oliver took the driver's seat. As the van took off, Gary placed his Eagle against the LTG member's shoulder and grinned. "Know where we can find Grace and Alex?" He said sweetly.

13. Alex had done what he could to console the woman, but he had to make his report was now talking to Jack Kintober himself. "You're sure that getting her husband and daughter is the only way to placate her?" Jack asked. He sounded bored and just a little bit fed up.

"Yes sir. She refused an asylum and insisted the only way she'd assist us peacefully is if her family was safe. If that doesn't happen, you'll have to get what you want from her by force." Alex replied plainly. Jack sighed and rolled his eyes. His family and love was science and the concept of having emotional attachments to other human beings seemed foreign to him. Finally he seemed to consent.

"Fine. Our operatives say her husband and child have been arrested. It's only a matter of time before the LC gets ahold of them and they disappear. If the Viperfish turned around and dropped the remainder of your team off they might have a chance to rescue her. But I will not have the Viperfish stick around. This 'Christa' woman is far too valuable to risk. If your team goes, they'll have to make it back by their lonesome. I leave this decision up to you. Make your choice." Jack informed him. Alex thought for a moment.

"I think we can pull it off." He said. Jack nodded.

"Alright. Agents Gary, Oliver, and MS-8/36(Doc) will go. Yourself and Agents Rodrick and Kayla will stay with the package for safeguarding. The extraction team will be able to tune into station 3 for any info and pick-up points. That is all. IMSD, out." With that, Jack cut the communication. Alex breathed in deep and hoped his team wouldn't kill him for this. He turned to break the news to his team, and then inform Christa.

Later that night, down coast from the harbor from which they had just escaped, Oliver, Gary, and Doc made their way back to the shoreline. They had nothing apart from the wetsuits they were wearing, their Eagles, and some extended mags apiece. Doc also had a small medkit with him. They reached the beach and began making their way inland, with only the vaguest idea of where their targets were and no clue as to how they would get them out. But the Smilers were confident that something would work out.

14. Alex bit his lip and felt rather helpless at the sight of the crying woman. The plan was for a quiet extraction of Christa and a smooth voyage back to EE without anyone ever knowing who-dun-it. Instead, the mission had gone FUBAR from the get-go. Now they had to worry about Navies and Coast Guard fleets from other countries on the look-out for their sub. And it was highly unlikely that his superiors would be hot for the idea of another extraction. Especially since two Smilers were critically injured and their foes on high alert. "I'll see what I can do Miss." He said. It wasn't a lie. He really was going to see if his superiors would authorize another extraction. Highly doubtful though. "Now Miss, the best thing you can do right now is ask for an Asylum from the Eggman Empire..."

15. Alex cursed as he felt the ship rock from the explosion. "Fine, you want to die? I'm good with that. All Smilers, Mission code 14. Secure package and wounded." He said into the PA system. Then he began shooting his way through LTG members who were stupid enough to get into his way. In the meantime, Oliver picked up Christa, while Gary and the Doc had retrieved Kayla and Rod. They made their way to the very aft end of the ship above decks. They found Alex holding a box that had wires running back into the ship. He did a quick headcount, and when he was sure everyone was present, pressed the button that was in the box.

While the C-Guard could jam radio frequencies, there was nothing it could do about an electrical surge sent via wire to a detonator. The bow end of the ship was suddenly dissolved in an explosion. With such catastrophic damage, the boat sank quickly. The Smilers, however, stayed dry by using two inflatable rafts. A few moments after the boat went down, the Viperfish came up. The Smilers quickly boarded the sub, and the underwater vessel quickly dived when they were all on board. A minute later, it disappeared from radar.

With Kayla and Rod being treated, and Oliver, Gary, and the Doc getting some rest, Alex turned his attention to the source of their problems: Christa. The captain had allowed for Alex to interview her in the captain's quarters where they could have some privacy. The first thing Alex did when they were alone was to run cold water over his hands and lightly slap her cheek. "Hey, Ms Christa, you there?"

16. OOC:Okay, that kinda makes sense.

IC: The PA blared again. "It's called jumping over the sides you retards! Jebuz, how do you fools still breath?! Anyway, stay on my ship and the last thing you do will be to feed the fishes!" Alex said. He readied his Eagle as he heard more LTG members approach. The Smilers had already begun to retrieve the C-4 attached to the ship, so the LTG couldn't succeed even if they did execute their strategy.

17. OOC:As ridiculous(ly awesome) as this RP is becoming, i have to ask:How did the LTG get 89 C-4 Charges on the boat? I don't remember you air-dropping a pallet of explosives. Fortunately I have a RL device I can use.

IC: Unlucky for the LTG, Oliver had found one of their members trying to plant C-4. With the man dispatched and the threat assessed, Oliver made his way to one of the storage rooms and found what he was looking for. Oliver pulled out a device called a "C-Guard" and turned it on. Since Oliver didn't know the exact frequency that the LTG was using to activate the C-4, he told the Guard to block everything. When the LTG tried to activate the explosives, nothing happened. Unfortunately, with all frequencies blocked, the Smilers couldn't use their cell-phones or call the Viperfish. That didn't seem to deter the Smilers though. Now their enemies were all in one place. But Alex decided that maybe the LTG wasn't that short on brains and issued them an ultimatum via the PA system. "Attention dead meat: You plot to blow up this ship has failed. Get off my boat before we send you to Hell. You have 30 seconds. Goodbye."

18. The bulkheads on the ship were thick enough to obscure thermal readings unless they were within direct line of sight. However, they were still feeling pretty smug about their NVGs and were certain they would get the drop on one of the Smilers. Until one point man rounded a corner to be blinded by Gary's "torch." The man screamed as the light blinded him and Gary shredded the man with his AA-12. A flash-bang went off next in front of the LTG members behind the point man and Gary opened up with his SAW belching out 5.56mm AP rounds. Several went down from head shots. Before the rest of the men could recover, Gary disappeared into the darkness again.

*Snip* With one last cut of thread, Rod was stitched back up and was resting. The Doc looked at his work and nodded appreciatively. Rod would be off his feet for a few days, but he'd make a full recovery. The Doc was in the process of cleaning up when he heard an access code being punched into the door. He reached for his Eagle and leveled it at the door. It opened and his finger tightened. Then Kayla stumbled through the hatch and slammed it shut. She stagger for a moment before Doc caught her from falling. He took off her now-empty flamethrower before putting her on a second operating table. "More attackers....following...Room not safe..." Kayla gasped out. Blood loss and shock were taking hold of her and she would die if not administered proper treatment.

The Doc nodded and fixed up a blood transfusion/replacement fluids IV. With fluid efficiency, he found and located the shrapnel and bullets lodged in Kayla's body and removed most of them. There were a few that were unreachable with his current equipment and time constraint. He then began applied a thick salve made up of tranexamic acid(a blood clotter) on her wounds. Wasn't much he could do about her missing arm though. The Doc administered a sedative to keep her from moving and then placed a blanket over her to keep her warm. Having done all he could do for the wounded Smilers, the Doc decided it was time to join the fray. With a sick smile, he grabbed his favorite scalpel in one hand and Eagle in the other. "How rude to make such messes for me to clean up. Guess I'll have to teach them some manners." The Doc muttered to himself as he stepped out of the hatch and closed the door behind him.
------
Meanwhile, on the sub, the radar had picked up the two coastguard divers making their way over. The captain frowned. "Call the frogmen. Tell them to deploy." He told the comm officer. Due to it's nature, the Chirodropida class had a double-door pressure hatch that allowed for two men at a time to exit the sub while it was underwater. It was like an airlock from a space-station. So, as the coastguard divers got closer, four Smiler frogmen exited the sub armed with K-BARs and spear guns.
