Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize your neighborhood

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom

And though you fight to stay alive
You panic in your confusion.
For no mere mortal can survive
The grand evil revolution.

Well, you're not being very stealthy about it, are you?

3. So prior to tournament reset, on my profile page in TE I deselected the option for keeping my ruler name. Decided I wanted to change it, since it seemed like an easy thing to do with that option.

But now when I try to register, it says I already have an account with that e-mail address, and that I need to log in or have an e-mail sent to me with my account info. When I try to log in with my old info it won't let me ("invalid username"). When I try to get the e-mail sent to me with my login info, I get a similar error (no record of that username on file).

Help?

4. Since I have been inundated with queries (two technically counts as an inundation, no?), I'd like to take a moment to tell you more about us grues.

From Wiki:
A grue is a fictional predator that dwells in the dark. The word was first used in modern times as a fictional predator from Jack Vance's Dying Earth universe (described as being part "ocular bat", part "unusual hoon" and part man).

Dave Lebling introduced a similar monster, whose name was borrowed from Vance's grues, into the interactive fiction computer game Zork, published by Infocom. Zork's grues fear light and are ravenous devourers of adventurers, making it impossible to explore the game's dark areas without a light source. The grue subsequently appeared in other Infocom games.

Due to Zork's prominent position in hacker history and lore, its grues have served as models for monsters in many subsequent games, such as roguelike games and MUDs.
So there you have it...a little history for the young 'uns among us.

5. Recently, an aspiring young adventurer stumbled onto the corner of Planet Bob that houses our Tournament Edition. It was late in round 9, and he had no refuge from the devastation that surrounded him. All around, war planes and missiles streaked thru the sky, and bombs fell from the heavens unleashing their fury. Tanks bulldozed across the landscape leaving little standing in their wake, and brigades of foreign soldiers fought to their deaths. Mushroom clouds erupted on every horizon. Having nowhere to turn, he did what any sensible young adventurer would do.

He dug a hole deep into the ground to hide.

As he dug deeper, he stumbled upon a vast network of underground tunnels and caves. He lit his torch and did some exploring, and found a marvelous, undiscovered territory, untouched by the human warmongers above ground. It was a truly beautiful land, one that instantly captivated the adventurer and caused him to declare it as his new home.

But this isn’t about him. No, his torch faded out quite suddenly, and he found himself all alone in a pitch black cavern. Oh my.

What the heck, I was pretty ravished anyway, so a few of us devoured him for lunch. *burp*

I am Kal Torak, King of the GRUEs. Hello there!

Our alliance is small today, but we are always looking for more to join our party. Our goal is simple - to turn out the lights and devour everything in our wake, and to have fun doing it.

If this sounds like your kind of Tournament Edition party, please join us for round 10. We shall have fun. I promise. And if you choose not to join us, protect yourself - invest in some light bulbs. Energy efficient, please...we care about Planet Bob, too. But always remember...

Take another step back. NATO participated in the attack on CnG using their oA clause with IRON, and GOONS defended us. Any intervention by NATO's allies at that point would be completely optional.

These are facts.

They have no place in discussions pertaining to CyberNations.

:D

7. Wow, am I the only one who hates this idea? Trades and deletes (either inactive or manual delete) are a big wildcard in the game, and part of what makes it fun/interesting is the wild card aspect of it. You can't plan for everything, and the game would be boring if you could.

One thing that would be neat, not sure I'm endorsing this myself, but just thinking out loud, would be if you could pick one resource going in. You'd probably get too many picking uranium, of course, but then they'd have to pay the price for that by having a harder time finding trades. But it would allow for at least a partial ability to coordinate trades between reset rounds. Like I said, not sure I love the idea, but it just occurred to me...would be interesting...

8. I really like the steal cash/tech idea. Maybe make stealing tech more expensive than destroying it.

I somewhat like the detonate/steal WMD idea, but I would suggest it be an expensive operation with much lower odds of success (25% of normal spy odds, maybe?).

I don't get how you steal infra, per se. I think that one should remain as a "destroy" option, just for the sake of realism.

While opinions may vary, there are two factors, not more, to consider:

1. TOP was going to get involved on the side of IRON (and NpO) in what we saw as a war that would escalate significantly.
2. We were certain that CnG would get involved on the other side at some point.

Synthesis is that we determined that seizing the initiative would likely bring a more favourable outcome, in hindsight that appears to be a blunder, but once made, there isn't much turning back, is there?
I appreciate the honesty...at least someone on that side is willing to openly admit that a certain degree of incompetence was involved in the decision to declare on CnG.

10.
We would also like to publicly assert that at no time did the Complaints and Grievances Union ever intend to aggressively pursue war against TOP or IRON. We do indeed recognize the fact that, had TOP or IRON hit our allies, we would be honor bound to defend them. We would also like to note that 2 + 2 = 4, as we feel these two statements are equally obvious. Had TIFDTT not wished to engage the Union, or had they wished to avoid the perceived threat, not attacking us or our allies would have been a really simple way to achieve this.
LOL...well said...best part of the OP, and incredibly obvious to anyone with a brain.
