    President Smitty was Kill last night in a car crash went driving to his home after work late in his office. The drive was highly drunk and died a few hours later in the hopital from wounded from the crash. It is fear with out President Jim Smitty leadership that the young republic will fail part.
    OOC: Im scrap my young nation for a few reasons, the two main reason are my working on starting up my own RP forum, and I have school starting up again. Once I have I forum up I will post a link where anybody you wishs can join. It will start in 1900 and you will basiclly have free control for the most part with all nations starting with the same basic militaary and tech basic.

    Every night you hear about the rising cost of health care in this great nation, and how most people are loseing every thing just to stay alive, I say no more!

    This bill will take 1% of people payroll as a tax, to pay for this. With this tax every citizen of the republic will have health care. This bill is part of a program to make the republic a better nation!

    We thank the three nations who have recognize the Republic as nation in the past few weeks. We are still looking for more nations to recognize the republic for treaty and trade with.

    Army Work

    We are testing MIM-1 Hawk SAM system. The current system is having a hit rate of 40%, which is lower then we have hope for. We are looking into way to improve the MIM-1 system and get the hit rate to go up.

    Navy Work

    We have finish the first prototype patrol boat. The hull is aluminium with three water jets rated at 10,000hp each. In test the Osa class patrol boat has reach speeds of 41knots. The SSNM-1(ship to ship naval missile) is still being design and work on.

    The newly founded Office of Foreign Affairs is sending teams of Diplomatics to all nations to started diplomatic mission and ask them for recognise the new republic. We are so looking for trading partners, are major resources are oil, pearls.

    Army Work

    We have started work on a medium range surface-to-air missile for the defense of the republic. The system will be known as the MIM-1 Hawk. The goal for this system will be 15miles range, a speed of the missile of Mach 2+. The warhead will be 100 pound continuous-rod warhead.

    Navy Work

    With are old fleet we have decided to start with a home grow new ships. We are starting small with a new missile boat. The goal for this boat will be a speed for 40 knots, and armed with at least four surface to surface missiles, and two .50cal machine guns. The missile will be new and have a range of 60 miles, and have a speed 1.5Mach+, the warhead will be 400 pounds.

    The Roswell Republic is a country of laws not of men. We believe in the right of the people to choose the government as they see fit. The government is set up in to three tiers with a system of checks and balance to keep on part of the government form become too powerful. The three tiers are the executive, a two house legislative and the judicial.

    The executive branch is the head of the state will the following powers; they are the commander-in-chief and the chief diplomat for the Republic of Roswell. Also they will sign new legislation into law that is pass by both houses of the legislative or veto it, a veto maybe over turn by the legislative branch with a 2/3 vote to pass it. The president also appoint justices to the high court and lower national courts, these must be pass by the upper house of the legislative branch. The country vote every four years for a new president or to keep the current one in office.

    The legislative branch is to pass new laws or repeal old ones. The President must come to the legislative branch of declaration of war, this must be pass with a 2/3 vote. Also is a new legislation is veto by the executive branch they may over turn this with a 2/3 vote in both houses. The lower house is the larger of the two houses, each member represents area of half of million people and there elections are every two years. The up house is much smaller than the lower house because each state has three members in the upper house, they are up for election every six years, but they stagger are too one per state every two years. The legislative branch can impeach both members of the executive branch and the judicial branch for high crimes and misdemeanors. The lower house vote to see if there is see if there is enough legal ground to move forward with a trail, if there is then it goes to the upper house for the trail. If the upper house votes with 2/3 for a guilty then that person is impeach and is remove from office.

    The judicial branch is the court system at the national level; there are two court levels in the judicial branch. The district courts are the lower one of the two, the cover an area of the republic. There are five justices on the districts court bench. Once confirmed by the upper houses they have life time tenure to the court, unless they move to the high court or are impeach by the upper house. The High Court is the highest court in the republic, and all of their rulings are final word on the matter. There are nine members on the high court bench, and once confirmed by the upper house they have life time tenure to the bench unless they are impeach by the upper house. If a member of the legislative branch is suspect of high crimes and misdemeanors they come before the high court for the trail. The vote must be 5 out of 9 to remove the person from the seat they hold.
