  1. And now with our military build-up we go ahead of FARK ;)

I think if you guys end up decomming your militaries we'll jump back ahead, plus it won't be long till GATO drops below us too so don't worry - we'll get back up there and make that list 'exciting' again

  2. So question for you guys while we are analyzing this situation. CSN has MDoAP's with MA and FUN as well. MA has an MDoAP with NPO as well so I can see them staying out altogether because of treaty conflicts but is FUN obliged to help CSN? I guess the core question is this. Is CSN involved in a defensive war if they came to the defense of GATO? It seems an obvious answer to me but I thought I'd get some other opinions.

I think that the difficulty is that CSN declared war on all nations which are attacking GATO - so the MDP could only legally be activated against alliances which originally attacked GATO or declared before CSN decalred on GATO. so basically if CSN's MDP gets activated their allies get to fight Continuum minus NPO/IRON.

Also given that CSN is on the defensive from the Q offensive declarations followingtheir entry, those other MDP's should activate if those other allies decide to follow through on their commitments.

  3. Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war!

    o/ MCXA

You honored your treaties, CSN, and we admire that... but we must honor ours.

see...theres no reason we can't all be friends AND go to war! see hippies! see!

  4. It saddens me to know that most of you will be obliterated for your honor - but such is the way of things. glad to see some folks honoring their MDPs, both because thats important and it might even get me a target in this thing :jihad:

  5. My main criticism is that while it's all nice and shiny to receive £15m, if you're then shipping out 500 tech, the whole process will have your aid slots completely full for 40 days. And considering 500 tech costs around £8m (800k for 50 IIRC) you would be generating an income of about £7m in 40 days.

In all honesty, to a new nation who shows themself to be a good member, I'm sure you could make that kind of money by joining an alliance. Not to mention those 40 days could be used to work your way into at least a lower governmental possition.

I guess if you're going for the whole independant nation thing, this is a cool way of doing it. Though in all honesty, the only people who are None either don't know better (lawlford/newbs) or are not there by choice.

Oh well, despite my scepticism, I do wish you guys all the best in this.

there are a couple of important distinctions that need to be made here:

    a) The loan isn't payed back all at once and as fast as humanly possible, its not a set pay all 500 back right away but we're more apt to set up a repayment schedule for the loan.

    B) there are VERY few alliances that will shell out 15 million to you when you get in. \m/ was always known for having good start-up aid with its 1,000,000 packages. Most people would be hard pressed to find an offer that beats this

  6. wow. at first I felt a little bit of pity for the NADC, then I continued to read and realized how foolish they had been. BLEU used mercy and restraint and I gained a lot of respect for them for how they handled this. BLEU - I liked you before, but now I have a LOT of respect for you. good riddance to bad rubbish.

  7. I think that the war ranges definately need to be changed a lot. I'm not sure if that means 66-150, but I think that 75-133 sounds like a really good place to start because at very worst you'll have nations that are at least comperable enough that preparation can make the war even. For example, if a nation attacks one 50% its size even if that smaller nation has a huge warchest it has little ability to resist that bigger nation for very long. But in the case of a smaller attacking range if that smaller nation is prepared it has a fighting chance which is somethnig that this game needs. War has no costs right now because people can just stomp with their allies, triple team their few big nations and then stomp at 50% everyone else, and this would at least mitigate that to some extent.

    definately shrink the ranges

  8. I think this is a MUCH better indicator of the true strength of a nation. For example - my nation was at about the top 3.5% for infrastructure (7500) and top 4.5% for technology (1500) with 20 nukes but under the old system I was at about 6% because I was demilitarized, whereas I would be at around 2% when militarized. now i'm at a more reasonable demonstration of my true strength, rather than being muscled down because someone decided to build a ton of tanks. That also means that only the 5% of truly large nations can get nukes, where as before if you were in the top 10% you could militarize up vastly expanding the ranks of nuclear nations, further diluting the importance of nukes...

    I approve

  9. One thing people seem to underestimate about TOP/Gramlins/MK is that because the average nation strength is so high we also have a lot of infra/money, which gives us a lot more staying power in war than the other alliances, so even if our total strengths are close it belies the tactical advantages we have. Plus even though we're outnumbered we outnumber a lot of alliances in the ranks where the fighting will matter

thus I say TOP/Gramlins/MK as the easy choices

Valhalla has proven itself in combat time and again and they have good leadership under Chefjoe, and a hugely active experiences base.

Lastly FOK because we all know that they're :awesome: and their pretty much sanctioned as is.

  10. I'm not sure who these FOK and OG characters are but if either of them ever go to war I guess its all the more

    *whats this...*

oh their both allies of ours. well this is just :awesome:

grats guys - good to see our friends are being friendly with our friends

  11. Ya but NPO has a good bank they went up like just 1mil right before GPA. And I don't know if they went full out. But if they dint they might be able to get there lill guys up there to. But Citadel is like wow there avg are all like 30k or 20k NS.

ahhhhh...well I guess you didn't look at the other alliances that attacked the GPA...because TOP did the same thing (a little closer to 900,000 but you get the point), only difference is that we only had to mobilize about 100-120 nations...just sayin...
