We have a nation with Sugar/Uranium who needs a circle and is active. Link below:-

THIS IS ME. YES I WANT TO JOIN THIS. YES YES YES.

  2. How many nukes do you have?

dang, i really wish there was a way to see that kind of information in this game. maybe i'll go make a thread about it in the suggestion box. something like:

"hey admin, can you put in a feature where you can specify what alliance you want to look at? and it will show you things like Name, Total Nations, Active Nations, Percent Active, Strength, Avg. Strength, Nukes, and Score"

    wouldn't that be awesome?

  3. I will not nuke anyone unless they threaten to nuke me, my alliance, or their alliance goes nuclear.

As that has not happened as of now, no nuke. Yet.

    that tiger sure is pretty.

have you ever pet a tiger before? their hair is really soft

it's really nice when you shampoo them too. their follicles really open up and their supple lips turn a bright red and you can caress their strong legs and underbody. they purr with a nice warm delight as you feel every inch of their muscular physique...

  4. Could this formula be changed to:

    (number of spies) + (technology level / 20) + (total land / 70)

That way, people with resources that boost your natural land growth (cough, furs) might see some tiny tangible benefit from that fact?

furs changes purchased land too. the text is wrong (or outdated)

  5. Wrong. Peace mode should still exist but like I said if they get caught spying they should be dragged from peacemode. This allows peacemode to exist exactly as it does now, allows peacemode nations the ability to spy and be spied on, and also offers a punishment for them if they get caught. I'm pretty sure that the proposal of dragging a nation from peace to war mode if caught meets everybodies objections about peace mode. If theres anything it doesn't cover please somebody share.

exploitable. the biggest penalty to peace mode is that you *must* collect taxes before you exit peace mode. if you allow someone to get "dragged out" of peace mode, then they no longer have a penalty to their collection.

  6. You make some good points but this one is the most important. Suggestion for ways around this exploit? My thoughts are to still allow nations only one attack per day but nations will have to defend against up to 3 spy operations per day. This still doesn't close the exploit, just makes it more difficult to use.

so you don't even need a spy to be able to perform spy operations?

if you do need a spy, and people try to "spy slot fill", isn't there a chance that the spy can die?

"Aside from dying on a mission, and from assassination, spies are also vulnerable to defeat alerts where up to 5 spies can be killed."

so what are the odds of dying during a mission?

"The defending nation's counter intelligence systems are determined by (number of spies) + (technology level / 20) + (land purchased / 70). Threat level modifiers are also taken into account for the defender."

is ^^this^^ the odds that the mission will fail? or the spies will die too?

  7. The lower threat levels don't mean you will get spied on less, just that you will be less prepared if someone does spy on you. The opposite applies for the higher threat levels.

yes. i know this. but the text stating "threat" makes it sound like - unless someone reads about the threat/spies more - the big green button means your nation is at a low risk of an attack.

i think it would be more appropriate if instead of "Threat Level:" it just said "Intelligence:", with the alternate image text saying something like "Low counter-intelligence to spy attacks"

does that make sense? sound better?

because that's more what you're controlling: your OWN intelligence level. not your "risk" level.

  8. The wording seems fine to me. They are more or less exactly the same levels the UK has in real life, just worded slightly differently, and I expect exactly the same as the real world United States levels.

Personally I'll never drop my threat level below substantial, even during peace times. Its worth 1 lost happiness to me to have my counter-intelligence agencies working at 100% capacity to deter terrorist attacks, despite having gone the better part of a year without entering into hostilities with any other nation in the game.

If a newb panics and makes a mistake then its bad for him, but he will learn for next time. Although I'm sure it will be fully explained in the next edition of the new player guide.

i think they're talking about the wording of the threat. not the actual levels per say.

countries in real life change their threat level because of intelligence that leads a country to believe they might be hit. in other words, it's not really in a countries control how likely they are to be attacked by terrorists.

the way the threats are worded in CN right now seems to say the following:

"well, i don't want terrorists to attack me, so i'm going to set my threat level to low. *changes to low* yay! now my threat level is 'Low Risk of a Terrorist Spy Attack'"

    or

"i hope i get attacked by terrorists, i'm going to increase my risk of a terrorist attack by raising my risk level to 'Severe.'"

i think that's what people are saying. at least thats how it makes sense (or doesnt make sense rather) to me

  9. no one has mentioned in this thread yet:

the ability for spies to destroy a random improvement.

i think ideally you could break it down to two groups:

*destroy 1 random income improvement (banks, schools, etc): $500,000 + (5 x enemy nation strength)

*destroy 1 random military improvement (barracks, guerilla camps, etc): $300,000 + (2 x enemy nation strength)

you may say "well what's the point? improvements are cheap," but if the nation you performed these on were saving up for a few days of collection, or you were about to attack them with a HUGE deployement, it could really be worth it.

prices are just suggestions. and ideally, the improvement could not be rebuilt in a day or two.
