    I'd like to think we have plenty of new talent as well. GATO is far from dead, and you will be surprised to see us return with a vengeance.

    I joined in February of '07 and have mostly :unsure: been a GATO member ever since. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that We could play this game without the ever present Shadow of the NPO looming over our heads. For those of you that question the PIAT, it is nothing more than, "Here dude, you play in that corner and I'll sit over here in mine". As for the "Heil NPO" in #gato, we're tired and lazy. give us a break. <_<

    All together, I think we are most definitely from the ashes reborn. Our demographics of both old and new testify to our commitment to our past and our eagerness for the future. GATO's current state of affairs is more than I ever hoped it could be, It is one with little real animosity (outside of some certain awesome PbP threads) and a great deal of members, both young and old looking to take our time honored traditions in a completely new direction.

    Oh, none of were insulted, (it takes a lot to make a GATOan feel humiliated these days) on the contrary, that was at your expense my friend. ^_^

    If I were to treat this topic with the unbridled scorn and contempt that I fell it deserves Im sure Id be on a 48 hour holiday right about now.

    Luckily Im taking this topic at face value. Specifically Im annoyed that the rank and file from GATO is openly posting that it intends to defend the brown sphere against tech raiders (when it has the power) and thus in doing so bringing GATO into conflict with Valhalla and others who see GATO as nothing more than another notch on the hitlist preventing it reaching the happy hunting ground. Im more annoyed that through either design or default no one from GATO that should be posting in this thread; telling you to shut up or agreeing with you are actually doing so.

    Bringing me back to my original comparison of the inmates running the prison/those that are clearly out of their depth posting.

    If you ever get into government I will rejoice :)

    I dont know if you have noticed, but the "rank and file" you seem so perturbed by is and has been a single GATO member that, not only the government and specifically the viceroyship whose job it is to run your so called "prison", (hee hee you blamed the ebil NPO you silly, you) but the actual General membership disagree with.

    If GATO had gone nuclear, so would have One Vision, and they have far more nations with far more nukes. GATO's was not to go out in a blaze of nuclear holocaust. It was to achieve peace and it was determined the best way to do that was to not fire nukes.

    To be honest I'm not sure a nuclear holocaust would have been more destructive than the drawn out war GATO was forced to fight anyways.
