Each role can become the most important in certain circumstances.
During times of rebuilding / growth the economy is most important.
In times of expansion recruitment is most important.
During times of international unrest foreign affairs is most important.
During times of warfare, the military is most important.
During times of restructuring / starting up internal affairs is most important.
Alliances tend to go through cycles, and each aspect has a good chance to become top priority.

Is that "you" in a general sense applied to Polar, or directed to me specifically. I don't ever recall stating I would celebrate TOP's destruction.
Yeah sorry, I thought my last sentence might have avoided that confusion. It was a general at Polaris toward the Grämlins. And I'm sure you're aware of how close TOP and the Grämlins are, and Alpha Omega for that matter.

Some of the comments in this thread have really astounded me.
It's incredibly obvious that TOP-NpO relations have been sour for some time. What TOP folks are keen to leave out, however, are the numerous efforts made by the Polaris foreign affairs team to mend fences with TOP.
Now I'm certainly not trying to say Polaris has been all sunshine and lollies towards TOP, but for them and others to lay the blame solely at our feet is extremely laughable.
Yeah Ski, that's true enough and you would know as you were the primary force in trying to facilitate such relations. And maybe there was even a point where such conciliation was even considered, but the primary issue was the lack of compatibility that was apparent.
But that doesn't really mean anything, if we feel that perhaps our philosophies as alliances aren't close enough to have an actual bond that's merely our opinion of things. However you should realize that this doesn't mean hostility, it's indeed possible to disagree with someone without hating them.
But you crossed the line when you wished my alliance dead, and would celebrate / rejoice at such an outcome. That's an open call of hostility, but you should realize that this wasn't inevitable and under different circumstances we could've been friends.
(Oh btw, if there's a bit of confusion between my switch in speech between TOP and the Grämlins, it's because I was a former member of TOP).

Looks like we have a Spain vs. Germany final. So bets are going to be paid out regardless of the outcome.
And like I said in this post:

Which would mean that were Spain to win, three of the losers would have to split up his 3 million pack into 2 different slots (2 million pack, and 1 million pack). Seems like a waste of slots.
I purpose that those who chose Spain should guess the number of goals scored in the final match. Closest one wins 18 million, while the other two get 15 million.
It would definitely make splitting the winnings more straight forward.
My guess is: 2-1

I wouldn't expect anything too exciting or unpredictable.
A global war is just not in the cards.
Some people just got very carried away on the flawed premise of a deep division among the orders. Such antics will be rectified (as stated in the OP), and things will return to normal.
Then again, you can never rule out something more interesting.
And of course, hail and such.

Yeah they are, what an upset. I hope this trend changes with Spain vs. Italy (So far every runner up has beaten the winner of their respective groups).

Seriously now, kudos for their spirits, but thats just luck upon which they are riding on.
They clearly work well under pressure, it's not as though all their goals have been random counter-attack breaks and / or long shots. Rather putting everything forward in well co-ordinated attacks during the closing minute(s) against a team which had written them off (pretty much true in all cases). Seriously, the Croatian coach was practically breaking out the champaign, that last second goal must've been a rude awakening.
I really wouldn't call it luck, it was some serious determination.
However, I would have to say that their fantastic run is likely over. Missing 4 players and facing a determined German team who have likely learned from the mistakes of Turkey's former opponents is overkill.

Given the way the formula is calculated, having a 300 member requirement no longer makes sense.
It's been a long time since a few 60 k + ns nations could have score which would even register on the radar. So we don't have worry about fake alliances getting a sanction.
Basically, TOP deserves the sanction, they have like the 8th highest NS and 2nd most nukes (not to mention their high average NS).

IMO we should number all the stomps. Whenever the NS is at least 3:1 and total NS of those being stomped is greater then 5 million
Great stomp II, Great stomp II, etc...
We would probably be on 15 by now.

lol, I find it funny that none is within reach of NPO. It's always been a running joke how they are in fact the most powerful, greatly out of reach to every one. But low nation joining rates / staying on none, coupled with an NPO power house means that none will soon be dethroned *gasp*

If anything too many people like the NPO. Myself included, but I feel like I liked them (And even joined) before it was cool to do so (at least in the community I was apart of)

Nowadays the jack boots have been replaced by smoke filled rooms.
The game has shifted from the solider to the diplomat, whether you can call this a good or a bad thing is subjective. Though it's a sure sign of having a game with more predictable outcomes.
Either way, it's been quite a while since the solider has taken center stage, which brings about a certain sadness.
