  1. I did not say NPO gained a strategic victory in GW1, that would be just silly.

GW1 was tactical victory for CoaLUEtion (short term gains and victory in actual confrontation), and strategic draw. Balance of power was unchanged, which allowed NPO to later on defeat the CoaLUEtion.

GW2 and GW3 on other hand are much bigger victories, and clear strategic victories for WUT.

I doubt anyone would equal "victory" in GW3 to "victory" in GW1.

For me, GW1/GW2/GW3 are all continuations of the same war, big cold war that lasted for a long time. End result, NPO strategic victory.

By your definition, though, short of forced disbandment (and even then, not so much), there is no way to strategically defeat an opponent. Which makes the whole strategic/tactical separation pointless.

  2. It still has a cancellation option. If they removed that, and added a "goodie" (not sure if there are any, I'd have to check), then it would.

OoO would have fallen under this category, if it still existed.

Surprisingly busy week. A few treaties to add, and a few to remove (Hi PC). New alliance joins Warsaw Pact.

Oh yeah, new treaty type, the "Super Treaty".

    Q) "Super Treaty?"

    A) "Yep, and the first one is Härmlins between Grämlins and MHA."

    Q) "What does it entail?"

    A) "A Super Treaty is shown even if a bloc covers the signatories. It's also green, and thick. Like a cucumber."

    Q) "Why?"

    A) "Cause I can."

    Q) "Can my treaty be a super treaty too?"

    A) "No."

    Q) "Please?"

    A) "Fine, only if it meets the following prerequisites:

    1) No Cancellation Clause.

    2) Treatied relationship between the two alliances must be >1 year long.

    3) Must be MDoAP or higher.

    4) Should have some stuff in it that is not in a standard treaty (dual citizenship, shared forums, shared IRC, something like that). I will judge this one.

If your treaty meets these prerequisites, PM me and I will consider your request. I might change these rules later. Depends on my mood."

    Rules of the Web

If you wish to have your flag corrected, post it here or give me a link.

All alliance icons get FOUR (4) characters underneath for their name or acronym. If you wish what I have labeled for you to be different, tell me what you prefer, within the 4 character limit.

Protectorates and ODPs are not included.

    Inter-bloc treaties are not included*.

A bloc is defined as 3 or more alliances. A bloc with only 2 alliances will be treated as a simple treaty.

In the case of conflicting definitions, I will define a treaty as MDP or MDoAP based on how I read it.

If I can't find your flag, you get the walrus flag.

I will ignore you if you do not read these rules.

Not a lot of action in the past few weeks. BLEU makes a return, though missing some of the original key players. Zeniths move to White, and their leaving AAT, makes that bloc turn into a simple MDoAP. And it is ALL ZENITHS FAULT. Oh, and Teen Titans arrives, marking the first Bloc-Bloc Bloc.

Also, they may or may not be a special addition to the web next update. Maybe. If I feel like it.

  5. How is that a surprise? There was a deliberate attempt to kill BLEU and the end result was a weakened BLEU. You tried to kill it. You failed. But, it will take time to rebuild what we lost and it will take even more hard work to cover our lost ground and proceed on. We have given us a setback, nothing more.

Our war was about killing BLEU? News to me.

  6. "Before the Continuum, Grämlins and IRON were largely unknown to each other."

So you signed an MDoAP with an alliance you didn't even know? Thanks to people like you, treaties have become so common that they are becoming worthless.

"Largely" is quite key. We knew IRON, we knew they were good, honourable people, mostly due to our other Orange allies, and we were pleased to enter a bloc with them. Individual treaties are more about personal relationships.

Of course, I was not in gov them. Maybe we signed blindly for yucks. That is what Gremlins do.

  7. Before the Continuum, Grämlins and IRON were largely unknown to each other. We joined that bloc as for mutual benefit, but through it, we have developed a strong respect and mutual admiration for each other. So, as a first step towards a more intimate relationship, we sign this Treaty of Amnity.

The "Grämlins stole my 9-IRON" Pact

    ironflagmedium.PNGAquaX.jpg

    Preamble

In recognition of the mutual respect and good will prevalent in these two alliances, The Grämlins and The Independent Republic of Orange Nations (referred to as IRON), hereby enter into this Treaty of Amnity.

    Article I.

    Sovereignty

By affixing their signatures hereto both parties to this treaty, namely The Grämlins and IRON, make it clear that each will remain sovereign alliances, independent from one another.

    Article II.

    Non-Aggression

No member nation of either alliance is to commit aggressive acts against the other signatory. This includes providing military, financial, or technological assistance, or information of any kind to any outside party hostile to the other signatory.

    Article III.

    Friendship

Both signatories agree to treat members of the other signatory with respect and cordiality. Healthy debate, constructive criticism, and civil disagreement are permissible as long as a sense of decorum is demonstrated and there is no flaming of or flame baiting of the other signatory. Should the two signatory parties have a strong disagreement all conversation will be held in private diplomatic channels and not be argued in a public venue.

    Article IV.

    Assistance

Any information gathered by one of the signatories with potential impact on the security of the other shall be promptly and privately forwarded to them.

In the event of a hostile act upon either signatory alliance, aid may be requested, be it diplomatic, material, or other forms of support. The other signatory is not contractually obligated, however.

    Article V.

    Termination

Should either signatory feel that this treaty is no longer an accurate demonstration of the good will between the two signatory alliances for any reason they may cancel this agreement by contacting the other signatory through proper diplomatic channels and notifying them forty eight hours prior to the public cancellation, during which time the non-aggression clause must be adhered to.
