This is just establishment talk by someone who has become interested in defending the establishment.
All of those alliances you named are dead or dying. I challenge you to provide a single example of an alliance that was weakened as much as the NpO was in war and allowed to regain a semblance of its former strength. And I'm not talking just NS, but real, actual power.
The NPO achieved this two years ago, when game conditions were completely different and the game mechanics of the time offered the alliance a way out. It is just impossible to do anymore.
Fark? Unless you want to count actual NS drop, then VE? ODN? Sure, none of them were as high NS as Polar, but NS does not matter, by your own admission.

Commentary
MDP Web update. Any "suspended" treaties are removed, for simplicity. This results in Nueva Vida being removed entirely, as well as a few smaller alliances.
A few others merge, and a few treaties canceled. A few others remade.
I am not gonna bother updating the war web anymore, it was too hard to track who was fighting who. Let me know if there are any errors, as I am sure I missed several announcements.

All alliance icons get FOUR (4) characters underneath for their name or acronym. If you wish what I have labeled for you to be different, tell me what you prefer, within the 4 character limit.
Protectorates and ODPs are not included.
Inter-bloc treaties are not included.
A bloc is defined as 3 or more alliances. A bloc with only 2 alliances will be treated as a simple treaty.
In the case of conflicting definitions, I will define a treaty as MDP or MDoAP based on how I read it.
If I can't find your flag, you get the walrus flag.
I will ignore you if you do not read these rules.

MDP Web updated. Looks mighty empty without NpO, and a few other alliances. It will fill out again when terms expire.
