After reading the peace talks the only thing I have to add to this discussion is how impressed I am with ThunderStrike for being able to maintain a neutral demeanor in the face of GLoF's abject refusal to admit they've done anything wrong.

Indeed, I know I couldn't have maintained a neutral position were I in his situation.

GLOF just lost any remaining tendrils of respect I had for them. If the only argument you can make is to dare people to stand-up to you then you're as good as admitting your cause is, at the very least, highly dubious in it's justifiability.

Off the basis that I could prove that a large portion of your CB is a fake in under a half-hour of checking, I think the Lodge should take it's time in deciding what it wants to achieve here. Also I'm pleased to hear about a cease-fire which will hopefully give the Lodge that time.

edit: clarity

8M NS, 340 nations vs. 3M NS, 67 nations.

Sure, sounds about right.

As per our MDoAP with RIA, Silence hereby Declares War on Argent.

Here we go again, once more into the valley of death my friends.

Signed;

Bagpuss - Triumvir
Scorcher 1 (Ragnor) - Triumvir
Remox - Triumvir of Justice

Prodigal Moon - Minister of Defence
Shakyr - Minister of Defence
Goon - Minister of Foreign Affairs
tswsl1989 - Minister of Internal Affairs
Daemon - Minister of Education
Thomsonator - Minister of Finance
Evry88 - Minister of Trade
Yamin - Minister of Recruitment

5. Scorcher, you don't seem like a bad guy. Let's just leave this declaration what it is, not a bunch of trolling to get stuff started up again.

Aye, sounds like a plan. I'd tell Col to put a sock in it, but I can't order hit to shut up, only advise him to let the argument die.

edit: Pretty much seconding what Asriel said as well

6. This is the sentence I was referring to about "reading comprehension". And that is what both of you continued to do. I, also never made personal attacks, is that Silence policy?

Ah, my apologies for attributing the sentence incorrectly. As for the sentence itself, I guess by the same logic half the people in the peace talks had no business making serious points and arguments for and against.

I'm not a fan of personal attacks, and if I've somehow made one I apologise. Also if anyone from Silence has made one I again apologise, but trying to make out like it's an alliance policy is just another cheap shot.

7. So our allies wouldnt defend us then?

Aye they would have, then everyone on the 57th side would have been blitzed, then there would have been a counter and folk on the other side would have been blitzed.... and so on.

edit: missed a word out >_<

8. Ok, you don't read for comprehension so well.... But do you speak (officially) for your unpublished AA?

Actually there is nothing wrong with his comprehension, it reads exactly like someone who is taking a cheap shot at folk who haven't had the chance to do what they were always going to do if peace talks failed. In fact it could be interpreted as you calling Nexus/Aztec/others !@#$%*^, which I very much doubt is the position of your trium. I strongly suggest you obtain clearance before make any inflammatory remarks.

My experience of Nemesis government had only been positive until I came across you.

As for Col, he hasn't had an AA published for as long as I can remember. But he's Silence, and only the Triumvirate speak for Silence when we have the democratic mandate to do so.

9. So, you don't want to fight with your allies if they defend their smaller allies, just have them fight for you when your big-time allies are in danger?

Why do you have an MADP if it only works one way?

Had there been an update between LoSS/Nemesis/CoJ countering and peace then I dare say you would have had the benefit of NV's nukes, not to mention mine.

10. Only problem there, is that the threat to the 57th's security had already been neutralized, as the WWE was already over, and BC etc had no opening to attack.

Yes, unbeknown to the 57th their war aim had been achieved before they went to war. The biggest shame of this entire thing was that Ven wasn't around to cancel the DoW, and that Kodiak had no standing orders on what to do if there was peace in the main war once their DoW was up.

11. I think I'm quoting Kodiak, a government official in the 57th Overlanders, exactly when I say "We intend to ZI Browncoats."

So who won? As I said before, white peace means nobody "won", but rather everyone decided to stop fighting. However, only one side achieved their stated objectives.

You fail to note that Kodiak withdrew that statement on the grounds that he flustered into saying it while being heavily outnumbered in initial talks after the DoW. As for "winning", you could say both sides won as the 57th aim was to neutralise a threat to their security while LoSS/Nemesis/CoJ was to defend BC. There is no threat to the 57th's security anymore and BC is no longer under attack.

12. I'm certain that as long as Nueva Vida supports spying, incompetence, and hee-hawing pre-emptive strikes that, yes, the chances we see each other around will remain high. While Browncoats, CoJ and others cooly played- and planned-out a war, the rabidly anti-BC 57th Overlanders fell all over themselves and got their fannies paddled.

And while you act cute with quotes, you might disclose I was very luckily not involved in peace talks. And if 57th Overlanders is in the business of declaring war on anyone they think has designs of harm on them, they'd better adopt TPF's 24/7 DefCon1 policies.

Had you been there you would have been the only person who believed that spying had occurred. As for the rest of that post, it's is simply PR.

Good day to you sir.
