In terms of current standings - TFD is going to win this unless Zenith plans to merge with another alliance. But I could be mistaken. None the less, Good luck on both sides of this competition. It should be reletively entertaining to witness.

Actually in shock there isn't an award out there for diplomacy - 2008 was one of the few years where you saw some pretty massive diplomatic handlings from just about every alliance and even some solo players out there
edit: refering to the Diplomats themselves, not teams in an alliance

- To be fair, the taxation I refer to is extensive tech deals. The alliance prolonged its own aquisition of tech to continune to supply it to the protector alliance. The tech was not in any way related to the protectorate status, but the protectorate status certainly encouraged nations to continue to sell tech well beyond when they should have. (On a side note, I always cringe when I hear microalliances say that they don't need a protector because they are selling tech to this large alliance or that large alliance.)
- Regarding the bold type, it went something like this:
Alliances A, B, and C are attacking the LoFN, NEAT, and AHEAD. We have a treaty (mutual non-agression pact) with B, even though your being attacked by A. If we were to help you with alliance A, that could hurt alliance B, so sorry your out of luck, and by the way, despite you guys all being in anarchy, please deliver the remaining tech as per our agreement.
I remember that actuallly...I know which alliance got ditched in that to...and who the A, B, and C is there.......I remember that whole ordeal since they got their peace agreement at the same time as AHEAD

As it turns out, at least one alliance was under a protector when that war started, but the protector managed to evade their duty using a rather pathetic technicality. I personally do not plan on revealing further information on the topic, but they know who they are and I'd actually prefer that opportunities like this thread continue to present themselves so that I can remind them of their cowardice and total lack of honor.
Tech raiding is a gruesome thing indeed, akin to armed robbery, but when the police (to extend the analogy further, who are paid by the victims "taxes") sit by and watch, that is truly despicable.
Somehow, the bolded part is where I want more details on this one..Atleast so I know what to look for in the future to avoid being caught in the same loop. As for the last part of that, it's actually a pretty good analogy - but if they were paying "taxes" I assume they had to pay a fee for the protection...doesn't that kinda relate to protection fees used by mafias? "pay us to be protected by 'certain indivuals'"

To expand on that, I beleive that AHEAD left the protection of IRON shortly before I joined. Which would mean that at the time of the war, it wasn't too long after AHEAD had left protection, considering I was only in for about a month before that war....so means probably about a month or two out of protection before getting pulled into the war?

The corrections have been made properly. Now with that correction being placed, I'd like to point something reletively important out to you. The only alliance in there that still exists is GOD...you're still free game by definition because of the fact that your alliance Andromeda merged with VE. I'm sure anyone here will agree with this.
Sorry Eph, but even us remaining in AHEAD know how to find loopholes in even the best treaties. You were simpily hiding behind the VE banner after you merged with them. GGA, AHEAD, God knows how many solo nations and nameless alliances you infuriated. But your free game even by terms of the treaties that you made with people in the past because you merged with VE - destroying the name you were hiding behind offically back then, Andromeda

we've determined this - he did it because he is a massocist and wanted the pounding that would be met with it..aka - he's trying to get his casulty count higher so he could say he was top 10 somewhere - which in it's own rights is an attention getter in his head. In it's own twisted ways that we never really want to know about

Many of those shouting to the High Heavens in righteous indignation at being 'tricked' into benefiting from what is now admitted to have been a massive theft & vendetta operation were probably not looking too closely at the evidence.
OK, fine. It's a competitive world out there. Them's the breaks.
The important issue here is whether the rest of us should tolerate things that hurt us all. Their victims aren't coming back and many newer players are not sticking around when they see what kind of conditions they are expected to operate in: Be a victim and don't fight back, give up your independence or be driven off.
After we're done taking turns putting our foot on Ephraim G's chest as the only person who is guilty and once he's gone everything will be much better, can we do better than than this? If so, what can be done to improve things?
I'm working on this as we speak slowly but surely. Sure Eph deserves his punishment, hell, I'm even willing to join in on that personally. But the primary goal I have right now is to try to restore the government of AHEAD to the proper owner, jerdge. The confession of Ephriam and me talking to Lord Boris has proven one thing to me. jerdge was truely innocent in the matter and deserves to have his alliance back if he sees fit. Give me time and that loose end should be tied once I have the chance to talk to GOD about the matter.

I think what could make the fakes all the more effective is that the parties are normally just looking for an excuse anyhow, so deliberation and close scrutiny might take a back seat (NOT a hit on VE here but just a general feeling I have on cases like this). Do people willfully look the other way with these lies because it gives them what they want, and therefore assure that such treachery will happen more in the future? I hope not.
To a cop the explanation's always simple. There's no mystery to the street, no arch criminal behind it all. If you find a body and you think his brother did it, you're gonna find out you're right.
I agree with most people when I say say that the best CB any of us have ever seen is the short and sweet, "We're out to get you" type CBs. Not only are they impossible to debunk, but their straight to the point...and that's the stuff we like.
I think I've only seen this out of a few alliances though. Most tend to try to justify what their doing with mountains of evidence.

Ephie, every time you reveal something I am becoming more and more disgusted with you, and more and more disgusted I ever trusted you as a friend or an ally. You make me sick.
He does that to the best of us....look at it like this...it makes ZIing him all the better for you - doesn't it?
Although he might enjoy that a bit too much....be careful now to not beat him up too much as an indivual or he might get attached, as an alliance though, you should be in the clear.
Now back to my work of tying lose ends

I agree with Stryke...close this topic mods, but I still say the fact that CIS members are being forced into those terms without a choice is just flat out wrong.

Vox Populi is a socialistic state - they really have no leader - because it's led by everyone in their alliance - atleast that's what I'm getting, which means their declaration of wars would never have a signature to back them up. (atleast one that we can go "AHH, the leader himself signed this")
