  1. Wow....just wow.

Was there ever a point Madmonkey where you asked yourself "Is it plausible that Moo would just blurt out his war plans to a confirmed spy willing to rat out his friends to save his own $@!"?

Even Vox/Former Vox members can't force themselves to believe that BS.

    Complete failure.

  2. They are going off topic to have fun. I'm sure they can use IRC or spam sections on their forums to do what they are doing. They felt a bit uneasy at all the discussion about them and decided to throw it off track.

That or they are doing it becuase ES said they would.

    No, couldn't be that. ;)

  3. Promising money to anyone who ask and then saying "nevermind, much love" a week later is a problem.

Money is still being offered, it's just not being handed out for free.

I honestly don't see why there is such a problem with young nations being asked to do their part. If your that selfish don't join an allaince.

Older nations have money and need cheap tech. Young nations have cheap tech and need money. It's almost as if some higher power wanted the two to trade. :awesome:

  4. You make a lot more profit by spending $15 million on infra and improvements and then buying/sending tech with your collections and extra FM aid slot. If there was any interest in small nation growth they'd be doing that already, but it's more about fast gratification for tech-crazed nations of the established elite.

Without crunching the numbers I assume most alliances don't utilize your suggestion becuase of the logistics. Just keeping track of a six nation tech farm each cycle can be difficult.

  5. I don't really know enough about tech dealing to know if it's better for the alliance as a whole, but I have a very hard time believing that's somehow better for the tech sellers to get 3 mill minus what it costs to buy 100 tech than 3 mill.

Edit: *looks up* make that 3 mill minus 150 tech I guess.

Edit again: *looks on next page* Well, whatever the rate is, you get the idea. 3 mill minus any amount of tech is clearly less than 3 mill.

Obviously you make more from a 3 million aid package then selling 100 tech for 3 million but that's not really the point. By selling tech you still make a profit, though less then simply receiving aid, while helping the allaince. In the long term though your going to become a tech buyer, and probably remain one for much longer, and having more tech sellers is a benefit to your nation.

  6. Did you finally change it? It's still terribly inefficient, then.

Edit: Why do I always do that!?

Without knowing the NPO's current method (or prices) I don't see how you can judge their efficiency.

In IRON all the money and tech is sent out during a single cycle utilizing multiple nations. It is very efficient and I would assume the NPO is using a variation.

  7. Anyone remotely competent at tech dealing on an alliance-wide scale can acheive much better growth for the smaller nations than they could solely through aid. Even if you ran at maximum possible efficiency with both systems, the difference for the growing nations is minimal if you are doing it properly, and you increase your overall tech level at the same time.

I'm surprised Pacifica hadn't started doing this earlier. It's far better for the economy as a whole, and that includes the tech sellers.

Exactly. Those who disagree are clearly not looking at the big picture.

  8. Whether you're buying the tech in halves, or you buy it at once, then you're still going to operate on a loss given you dump the money into Infrastructure, and the time and savings required to purchase more tech to complete the deal, without taking out another deal.

Well I'm sure you know more about this then the economic minds in the GPA who showed it to me.

  9. That attitude is cancerous. You propose that the only way a member should be able to express his opinion is by leaving the alliance. This is not how great alliances function.

    When did I say that?

I have no problem with members expressing their disapproval but to act like it's a nations right to receive aid from their allaince is absurd. No allaince HAS to offer aid to it's members. If any other allaince beside the NPO had done this I doubt there would even be a foul remark. An alliances job is to improve the allaince as a whole, none can cater to each individual.

  10. I support the thread, its a good one. Obviously enough rumors of next great war are a point of great interest and amusement to the mass (to which I belong as well), so for those which do not want to spend 24/7 on the irc getting all the funny rumors delivered to them in small private chat rooms this is a great helper.

A good idea by Merrie Melodies Ill say

Yes, some of us have lives B)

  11. Heft has been one of the absolute best leaders in this world.

Thank you for your service and enjoy retirement.

Is the announcement of a leadership shift necessary if it is irrelevant to interaction with and policy of said leadership?

It was just a question. I know, I know: it's entirely inconceivable that I might ask one without having the nefarious intent of embarrassing the relevant parties or otherwise causing mischief. If you'd like I can get someone who's not on perma-ZI to ask the question so you don't have heart failure, but it will get everyone back to their mindless congratulating and inconsequential pleasantries much faster if someone simply answers it.

I'll be sure to ask the same, pointless, question the next time Vox makes an announcement regarding changes in leadership.

  12. Curbstomps and keeping peace away for "idiocy" are not fun.

They are being genuine, they seem pretty desperate in their posts and in my life experience desperation brings out genuineness (it is a word). Why don't you try and help them get peace instead of expecting them to magically learn how to do it.

If that was really the case then talks would be going on right now. What ever your preconceived notions of how IRON leaderships acts are probably inaccurate. As someone who was in the GPA for nearly a year, as someone who is against the bullying that goes on in this game at times, I would not have remained in IRON for this long if I didn't truly believe the leadership consisted of decent people. I assure you that IRON leadership would be discussing peace terms if they felt the offer was sincere, they clearly do not. Do not assume IRON is the bad guy here.

  13. wow we can't even play this game huh? everyones trying to kill us they wont just accept peace? instead they talk big game on the forums and try to make us look worse? I wouldnt be surprised if it was you guys framing us.

You are playing the game. War in my opinion is one of the more interesting activities we have to offer so your having more fun right now then I am.

If you truly want peace, if you act genuinely contrite, then peace will come.

  14. This. And people complain about a shrinking and stagnating member base. pssh, its their fault too.

They attacked IRON, we didn't seek them out. It's also fairly clear that they don't really want peace, they just want to have a little fun. That's fine with me but please don't misinterpret this as IRON taking advantage of a newbie mistake.
