Just because you tried diplomacy first does not mean the aggression was provoked.
If you attack a nation that has not attacked you, and has not attacked a nation that you have a formal non-secret agreement with than I do not see the provocation.
How about this?
If a nation was not a member when attacked, we will contact the alliances of the nations that are attacking and privately request, as a courtesy only, that they offer unconditional peace.

Unprovoked aggression from nations with no formal ties or who have secret ties of some sort however is no better than raiding itself. If you believe that raiding is wrong by all means it is your right to fight against it but it is also the right of those who do not believe it is wrong to defend it.
Did you not read this? It is not unprovoked aggression.
We NEVER opted for military action w/o contacting the aggressor first.War is the last option.

If you belong to a group that is not in a form that robbers and bullies approve of and defend each other, you are a terrorist and they are the victims who must righteously exterminate your group if it does not take on a form that makes them feel safer.

If tech raiding infringes sovereignty that attacking nations that tech raid also infringes sovereignty.

You can operate however you see fit but when your operation impedes the sovereignty of others do not be surprised when you find yourself at war. If an alliance wishes to tech raid it is their sovereign right to do so and it is also your right to try and stop it by defending those who are raided. All of that is fine and good, but why is it that you expect that your attempts to stop sovereign alliances from exercising their rights should not be met with resistance?
You do not want your sovereignty infringed upon but at the same time you wish to be able to infringe on the sovereignty of others with impunity. That seems hypocritical to me. If you want to make your stand than you better be prepared to deal with the consequences.
Having dealt with the now defunct NONE as a government member of an alliance i had the pleasure of seeing this diplomacy first hand from none other than Walford himself and I just want to make it clear that while they do talk first threats of military action ae made within those talks.
Thievery and distributing stab wounds is a sovereign act. Tech raiding is a sovereign act as well. Tech-raiding infringes the sovereignty of others. Is it infringing the sovereignty of others by defending your own sovereignty?
Our diplomacy is not supposed to be threatening. We send a message as peaceful as we can when a friend is being attacked. I can give examples. Could you explain how we are threatening?

Who wear various AAs, or no AAs whatsoever, and who are not publicly announced. How are we supposed to know?
Upon my sam! Not any of our members were publicly announced. We talked to the attacker and the alliance about these things. We always worked things out quite peacefully.

You're not defending yourselves. You're defending nations on the "none" alliance affiliation who get attacked.
You believe we try and defend every single person with the none AA? You know us as well as the back of your kidney(s). We defend fellow members of our group.

We never forced it upon people. Like I've said before we have always used diplomacy when possible. If we fought a war for every tech raid we would be long gone. We only used war as a last resort. Is it wrong to defend yourself?
How is defending yourself against tech raiders forcing anti tech raid views on others?

People didn't like us because we spoiled some of their tech raids. We were forced to hide. You see our aggressors try to paint us as a villainous anti-tech raid group that attack the poor unsuspecting tech raider without diplomacy. This is simply not the case. We have always used diplomacy when possible.
As for the Wafflelord. What are his war crimes exactly? Methinks it is for much the same reasons. He was strongly opposed to people tech raiding. He was attacked for speaking out against actions of people.
