With the rather abrupt move to the current forums due to the functionality defects that arose on the previous forums, a great deal of work had to be completed by the moderation staff in a very short amount of time. During this time several nefarious users abused the transition period. Among the infractions were a wealth of fake accounts and widespread posting of inappropriate images. It was the fastest and most assured way for the staff to prevent further image abuse to remove the privilage of posting images. As has happened on the other forums before, once the transition and community settle, the option of using the image tags will be revisited. Thank you.
