It seems the complaints are less over the legitimacy of the war declaration and more about the timing and necessity of it.
And here I was thinking war was all about treaties, timing, and strategy, not making everyone happy. My bad.

I'm generally not one to nitpick, but this time the irony made me lol.
What astounds me is that RAD got into a situation that their allies couldn't help them with, so they had to turn to non-treatied friends, all over 4 wars.
Do you seriously believe that? That's the biggest crock I've heard for a long time.

War as catharsis. It happens occasionally.
Also I think that the low signal to noise ratio has drowned out a lot of the personality conflicts which tend to drive the taunting and other forms of 'undesirable' behavior. More people are posting which doesn't allow the sort of forum jousting that goes on in peacetime.
Once this war settles down, we'll see quiet for a short while and then the rivalries will start back up fresh. I do believe we'll see some interesting bedfellows postwar.

Though, seriously who can be bothered trolling, when you've got squads to co-ordinate.

I just noticed, there is now 4 aqua sanctioned alliances, right on.

We are not obligated to engage war with you by any treaties as you are to engage us. Really, the ball is in your court; I don't think any actual engagement has occurred but when you're in our position it is best to assume the worst and make corrections later. That way there's no surprise "hey! we're still at war!" cruise missiling incidents.
Oh jeez. Is this going to be one of those "We'll be war with you if our friends are at war with you, but only if you're at war with us, because we like dancing" scenarios?

The admin has never attempted to stop this. Happens every time. It's so expected that it's put into a lot of alliance war guides as a reminder to members new to Great Wars.
It's called tradition.
You know you've got a Great War when the servers and forums go down.

Of course we're weren't obligated, hence the word "optional" in MDoAP. We took that option and assisted our friend. I fail to see your point. These treaties are not new, they are treaties that Ragnarok have had for a long time. I don't recall TOOL's treaty specifying that it would be void if we are aggressive at any point in time.

TOOL are obligated to defend us against IRON, Legion, or Echelon. Our treaty makes this extremely clear.
Article I: Mutual DefenseAny declaration of war upon a member of either alliance is considered an act of aggression to the undersigned member alliances. Peace will only be offered through mutual consent of the alliances represented by the undersigned; and only accepted under the same terms. Diplomatic channels will remain open in the event that a declaration of war by an outside alliance is an unsanctioned operation.

It is clear that most of the next global hegemony/superbloc will come from the splitting Q alliances and superfriends. With so many alliances involved or waiting in the wings they all cant join, it would be chaos. The whos are more difficult but the number is easier to speculate on.
SuperFriends aren't splitting any time soon.
And no, it is not clear there will be a new hegemony/superbloc at all, do your homework before posting.
