  1. Then you must not know FIST's allies very well.

FIST should you need any assistance whatsoever you can call upon Darkfall. We will always honor our pacts to the fullest no matter what the odds. You know where to find us if you need us.

They have impressed me, it's true. Well done.

  2. I lol at the "they'll just keep attacking your little fellas". That won't do anything but build ArGo quicker, because first thier slots will be filled with money, then they'll buy infra and totally overflow thier enemies with soliders, destroying thier attackers, and growing our little nations.

No. We may not do much damage, but it's still damage.

  3. I agree, and he's being attacked due to being involved in an alliance that is involved with two one sided wars =)

One is the LFN war and the other being the AGWO/Coalition war. ^^

Btw- This dude had a huge warchest xD Because whenever I attack I gain several hundred thousand dollars, though that is really dropping quickly the more I attack.

Oh and I think I did the majority of the damage there though personally regarding the ZIing of your friend, because if you think about it, he had to be within my range for me to attack and now, 2-3 days later, he has under 8 infra =D But of course the others were the ones who got him to my range and then they probably did as much damage as I did after I declared, since I imagine no one actually lost a battle or spy attack :awesome:

He sold his infrastructure and sent his technology away you despicable bandwagoning swine.

  4. If you want peace, follow the advice given above. If you want to teach the guy a lesson on how a real war goes, pound him into the dirt - no warning, just wait until update and quad him with everything you've got (and keep going).

This works on the occasion when the tech-raider is a scum bag who uses cruise missiles and bombing runs when attacking.

If I was tech raided I would mirror their actions. I.e I would ground attack them back and send a peace offer along with a warning that I will mirror their every attack should they persist. It will only become a aircraft/missile war if they use aircraft/missiles first and ditto for nukes. After the seven days If they persist all bets are off

    Otherwise this.

  5. Poster above:

We will not be answering your provocations. If my comrades could please ignore him, I'd appreciate it.

The issue with this is that an embassy must be created by a forum admin (the closest thing you appear to have to a government). Unless everyone is an admin (Note: I do not suggest this for blatantly obvious reasons), this would necessarily cause the same delays as waiting for a government official.

Also, since no one knows who to contact (rather, there is no one specific to contact in the first place), and since they must instead rely on a random member to pass the message on to someone more appropriate ("Anyone looking to initiate talks with LoFN would simply have to message one of us. The message would be relayed to the others and the person we'd like to conduct talks on our behalf would then contact them."), you are really making emergency diplomacy a tedious and almost hit-or-miss occasion. What if that member doesn't pass it on? Then what? If it's an alliance looking for an explanation for some action, and they can't get a response quickly, there's a non-insignificant chance that they simply declare war on you rather than wait for their messages to bounce around and hopefully run into someone who will actually respond on behalf on LoFN. Call it unwarranted aggression if you will, but slow response times in emergency situations have destroyed many alliances.

As a final question, how are outside alliances supposed to tell if the person they are talking to actually has the authority to speak for LoFN? Usually the process is "if they are gov, the can speak for the alliance" Since you do not have a government, how is anyone supposed to tell the difference between someone with the authority to speak for LoFN vs some schmuck who shouldn't even be allowed to command a legion? The only option I see (correct me if I am wrong) is that alliances are supposed to assume that everyone in LoFN has the authority to speak on behalf of the entire organization (which would probably get you killed in less than a week), or that no one does, which would probably lead to the same place as the first possibility in about the same timeframe.

The problem of who to contact is very minor, but since you keep bringing it up... We'd simply ask for volunteers to act as contacts for alliances and as points of call in that case. They could even be admins themselves if that's necessary, not that it should be.

As for concerns about response times and misrepresentation... perhaps a similar position of a point of contact for alliances. We quite simply are not going to turn ourselves in Model CN dictatorship just to satisfy the mob.

  6. You managed to prove yourself guilty and damn yourselves the first few times your folks denied you were NONEv2.0, denied Walford involvement, denied any offensive action, then flipped up and admitted it.

I never denied any of those things.

Try sending Scyrcio to the big boards, he's earned a lot of respect from our boys by talking nice in the rooms. He's consistent in his stance, logical, and able to have a a good conversation with. He's a shining example of a good ruler from your side of the tracks.

    He is.

Lo York, you're the other good sensible person other then Sol. It's not really debatable on the Walford point though man to anyone on your folks, and even if it was to them and we all called off the attacks, others would be right behind us to wipe out anything Walford "leads" in spirit/advice/anything.

This is unfortunately true. The NPO seems to operate under a desire to gain enemies that they never had. :awesome:

You got our NEAT friends hurt. Naughty LOL-FN

You could have tried actually honouring your pact of optional defence if you felt so strongly about the issue.

Citizens of the cyberverse, this thread was created with the best of intentions. That it was derailed by an argument about the cause of this recent war is unfortunate, but is not what we wanted from this. We don't need to restate our obvious opposition to that, nor even the fact that we may even despise certain members of the opposing side. As I've said before I can tell you I do, quite frankly.

This offering is meant to enable us to understand what it is we need to do to be able to exist with the rest of you. So far I've seen suggestions I think were made in goodwill; thank you Scalare in particular. Please don't be dissuaded.

    * Do not allow any rogue actions by your League's members. In order to be part of the league and to ensure its security, you need to make sure that every member is accountable for their actions, and that the League as a whole claims responsibility for the actions of one. It's only logical that if a member violates the security of the whole league, that he is expelled from the league as such.

I think that this will be needed in future. Previously it was not a desire to be a labelled a bunch of rogues or whatever, but actually the allowance of freedom which meant that such actions went unanswered previously. Because our roster was supposedly unknown, we could escape collective punishment. However this is clearly not the case. This was merely due to the fact that in NONE, as each nation was non-aligned, the idea that we could prohibit such actions was unthinkable. In LoFN it was trusted by us that members would not endanger the group. However it seems this trust was not appropriate. I can agree that some method of removal of members who endanger the group must occur.

    * To be able to do the above, you may need to severe all ties with Walford, and make sure that he never leads or organises anything in your League again. Not because he's got a damaged name or anything, but because his ideals conflict severely with these solutions.

This may be a sticking point.

  7. I think they'd probably stay neutral considering that I'm not actually IN agw at the moment, but thank you again for attempting to troll my post.

Are you serious? Is the ruler of your nation perhaps addicted to a narcotic? Because we received some real gems from you, my extorting friend.

To: Notatalldude From: Eric Bunker 5/17/2008 6:00:46 PM Subject: Hindustania

I hear you're attacking an acquaintance of mine.

    What's the deal?

To: Eric Bunker From: Notatalldude 5/17/2008 6:27:54 PM Subject: RE: Hindustania

Originally- Tech raid. Then he started randomly attacking me back just to cause damage so I went all out. I offered peace but I'm not paying reps since I never attacking him when he was in his new alliance, the old

one was delta force, a small one.[of 30 nations]

    My emphasis.

To: Notatalldude From: Eric Bunker 5/17/2008 6:34:42 PM Subject: RE: Hindustania

I also hear you were demanding that he pay you $3 million in exchange for you offering him peace. I'm curious if that was before or after his "random" counter attacks.

After we attacked you for your crimes and continued refusal to pay reparations:

To: Morath From: Notatalldude 5/20/2008 9:23:08 AM Subject: RE: Battle Report

Lawl, now we're even. I suggest you send peace NOW, because tomorrow I'll be buying some more guerilla camps and a barrack. After doing the math my efficiency would be at about 83K. Which means anarchy to you in a single hit. It means you lose 100 infra tomorrow if you don't send peace, and reps in the form of 500K and 2000 soldiers BY THE TIME I WAKE UP TOMORROW.

Don't push me, because I push back. Oh and don't forget I HAVE an alliance, one of which is several times bigger than yours and all of your allies COMBINED. I'd watch your back.

    However after getting beaten:

To: Morath From: Notatalldude 5/20/2008 7:03:23 PM Subject: Fine -.-

I'll think about offering reps, just DONT attack me tomorrow until I make up my decision. Just give me time to think first, can you atleast do that? If you can't then reps are out of the question.

You then preceded to break your word and quadded me at update, though you still didn't anarchy me.

After our war was interrupted with the NONE massacre, you had the audacity to send me this:

To: Morath From: Notatalldude 5/25/2008 4:09:07 PM Subject: Lawl.

You won't last very long in peace mode, it hurts your economy, and as soon as you come out I'll hit you and hard. Along with all the rest of the coalition of CIS, GOD, NATO, VE, Rok, Andromeda, and ArGo.

It's just a matter of time...

You, sir, are the lowest of the low.

  8. The League of Free Nations: Purpose Statement and Proposal

    Militias.gif

Before we begin, let it be clear that this is not some attempt to negotiate in public with our current opponents. That is a completely separate matter. This situation has however, made us all re-assess our relationship with the world once again.

The previous time we did was in LoFN's predecessor organization. Just as some will delete their nations and recreate to take on a different persona, we did the same in disbanding NONE and re-emerging as LoFN, which had a significantly different approach to inter-alliance relations. It was no subterfuge; it was an honest attempt to establish a more practical and positive relationship with the rest of the world.

It would seem we need to do more work in that regard.

First, we must be clear about our intentions and policies, which contrast sharply with the myths many of you have heard.

Our aims are quite simple. We shall associate with whomever we please in a manner of our own choosing. We will consider taking action with respect to our policies concerning defense, membership and structure, but only if it is based upon provable evidence. We will not submit to force or the threat thereof.

We are not trying to stop tech-raiding. We only say that if the tech-raiders may organize their attacks, their victims are entitled to organize their defense also. We are non-partisan and do not favor one group over another. We stand firmly for our principles of freedom only. Our herd of cats could not plot to overthrow any faction even if some of us were inclined to. Our military doctrine is purely defensive and will always be that way.

After considerable reflection amongst ourselves, we offer the following:

[*] We recruit by looking for people in trouble and offering help. That will not change, but how we help will; we will be more strict about adhering to our informal policies and hereby formalize them: If a nation was not a member when attacked, we will contact the alliances of the nations that are attacking and privately request, as a courtesy only, that they offer unconditional peace. This is how many traditional alliances handle it when recruits show up at their doorstep under attack. Besides discussion, debate and/or diplomacy, we will not take action of any kind on behalf of anyone who was not one of our members when attacked.

[*] Our non-aligned members are not considered by us to have the same privileges as our members who display an alliance affiliation. If one of our non-aligned is under attack, we will only ask that no more combatants or funding be added on either side if the victim chooses to fight. If he wants peace, we would ask that he get it and no reparations will be expected on either side.

[*] If a nation was an alliance affiliation-displaying member when attacked, we will undertake a diplomatic course and expect the same in return.

[*] We are not an alliance, have no government and will still not have any members who serve as permanent politicians or diplomats in our ranks. We seek no treaties or formal diplomatic relations. However, our defensive doctrine already establishes an unilateral Non-Aggression Pact with the entire world. That we formalize now also.

But as needed, we shall utilize diplomatic channels with a representative who is chosen by us to handle a particular situation. We will consider adding a section to our forums so that members of alliances [friendly or not] may establish Consulates from which matters may be addressed promptly and professionally.

Much of this we have already been doing quietly in the background, hoping to escape notice as we enjoy our sovereignty. We would like to operate openly if possible and it will be if the community is willing to accept us as we are.

The League of Free Nations extends the world a hand and hopes it will be taken.

This is a an open discussion and we welcome constructive suggestions as to what should be changed or added. Bear in mind that we will never agree to allowing anyone to dictate our affiliations, the structure of our group or otherwise subordinate our will as sovereign nations to anyone.

  9. The list of all your nations was a nice touch.

    LOLFN

    -Bama

We do not seek to escape whatever fate may face us at the end of our road, but to boldly state that we will meet it with our head held high and our hands on the pins of our grenades. No doubt this is wholly lost on a sycophant such as yourself.
