I've raided two pretty large nations this week as a result of this.

How does that make you feel?
Nasally congested.

I'll leave the floor open for silly questions for a few more minutes if anyone wants to get anymore in.

I honestly agree, mostly because I think joke terms are a bit humiliating, but it looks like you guys had fun with it. Well done indeed.

One players version of humiliation is just another players version of some good clean fun.

at least you got pizza. She could have let you argue with the people on the game until you starved to death.

Indeed, ALL the power to em', but I don't understand how this relates to me merely expressing an opinion?
It doesn't, at least I don't think. All this running in circles has me confused. I'm sitting out next dance and drinking a beer. Wanna review?

  5.
Indeed, but giving your opinion doesn't automatically mean we are trying to run anything. These are public halls, I am not saying anything along the lines of his opinion being inherently wrong, but rather me disagreeing with it. Not a big deal, bringing other topics up such as "He is running the alliance, not you" (paraphrase, also respectfulness has been acknowledge with your words) means little to nothing as it true, but pointless. And, as I stated, I understand we all have different opinions and though I respect it, I disagree with him and find it silly. We're dancing in circles here over nothing. :(
Of course we're dancing in circles over nothing. A topic doesn't get to 40something pages and 800+ replies unless it's a great big circle dance.

Like I said though, even though both of us find this entire affair rather silly, it's quite obvious that it won't change the position of the NSO in it. Since Ivan is here saying that they freely accept the consequences without incessant whining, then as silly as I find it all I can really say is more power to 'em.

/hell, if a freaking beer review was all that was holding this up and not that the NSO found that particular peace unappealing, I'd do the damn beer review for 'em
//and you can hold me to that

The problem is when someone accepts it without hesitation then returns a few hours later completely shocked that such a term was offered. Normally I would agree to your assertion, however when something is initially accepted then declined over the injustice, you think it would have been declined from the gecko, meaning I think there is more meaning behind it -- THAT is what has angered many people, not because of their different views. Ivan states him giving the word to his members mean something, but what about his words to foreign alliances in terms of peace?

You are also stating they have the right to do as they please; I referenced that, however he is a seasoned player and although I would never infringe sovereignty on an alliance as they do as they please, I find it somewhat foolish to continue fighting over an issue which he initially agreed to. He has the right to be offended by such a term, I have the right to think it is a little silly, and for some reason, I do not feel unjustified in doing so. I am not making a revolutionary statement, I am merely disagreeing with him as he is disagreeing with myself.
Honestly, I haven't really kept up with all the back and forth over the past month so I really have no idea how the NSO/Fark negations went. So, as somebody with absolutely no knowledge of how it went down, I can only make some educated guesses.

Let's say that Ivan and Fark are talking peace and Ivan says "Those terms sound fine with me only let me check with my members and see what they think." The NSO membership comes down with a resounding no and Ivan goes back to Fark and says "Sorry, I reject the terms." Now, I freely admit this is simple leaps of logic that could easily be wrong so nobody try to quote it as a factual account unless you like sounding like a moran.
Ivan states him giving the word to his members mean something, but what about his words to foreign alliances in terms of peace?
What's more important to the leader of an alliance, his word to his followers of his word to others? I look at it like a leader has to take care of the wants and needs of his followers first and foremost.
I find it somewhat foolish to continue fighting over an issue which he initially agreed to. He has the right to be offended by such a term, I have the right to think it is a little silly, and for some reason, I do not feel unjustified in doing so.
Honestly? I'm with your point of view here and think it's a little silly. We're not running the NSO though, so it really doesn't matter much.

SO because of an innocent beer review, you disregard it as humiliation and now you'll subject yourself to paying tech and money, or eternal fighting if you're too thick headed to fight?
Now that depends on your point of view like so many of the truths we cling to. In my case, I'd have no problem at all with writing a beer review. I've actually been tempted to work out a deal that I could war with Fark every couple of weeks just so I'd have an excuse to find new beers, get tanked on them, then write a typo-filled review.

The thing about it is, that's just me. Even if a beer review is seen by 90% (just to throw that out there,) of the public as a fun harmless little thing, there's still that other 10% who see it differently. Does that make them wrong? No. Maybe the 10% see it as undignified or even too much of a OOC thing to be appropriate. There are many reasons that the 10% would find a beer review unacceptable. It doesn't make those folks wrong or thick headed. It just means they see the world differently. In the case of the NSO, it's pretty obvious that they're willing to fight on rather than do a beer review and that's their right to do. A person has any right that he/she is willing to accept the consequences for after all.

Now you know why the people of Bob hate me so... At least one of the reasons of many more that I may or may not be aware of...
Maybe you do know this and maybe you don't. One of the perks of re-rolling is that you are now roleplaying another character, a different one than before. That is unless you id yourself as your old character.

So, I'd say just hush up. Planet Bob doesn't hate your guts because planet Bob doesn't know who the heck you are. The bad news is thanks to this thread, we're learning.

Also, This war just keeps getting more WTF everyday.

We passed the WTF threshold a long time back. This war has gone full retard and fast approaching division by zero.

To be quite honest those are all reasons one should be afraid of that person.
Frack fear. Any guy who's got the stones to follow his own path ain't gonna be scared by anyone.

AJ, you're one hell of a dude. This planet would be better off with more dudes of your big ole swinging prickly mansack. Offhand, I can count guys like that on my fingers and have a few digits to spare.

  12. 'k, really folks, you've just got to stop all this ridiculous jibber-jabber. Both sides of this issue sound like their being argued by people that got dropped on their heads at birth.

    Repeatedly dropped on their heads.

It's called a misunderstanding. Happens all the time. No reason for such prepubescent butthurt. Now hush and get back to your wars.

Reading all of this has caused me to have an aneurysm, so if you'll excuse me, I have an ambulance to catch.

A friend of my from Lubbock Tx told me this: The best thing to come out of Texas is the interstate.

That's because our criminals get so scared that they either off themselves or flee to the much more merciful Texas legal system.
