I really don't think they would.I can't be for certain, but I do seem to recall a certain former FAN leader who is now banned saying that FANs sole purpose in life was to destroy Pacifica. That being said I think it'd be rather foolish of NPO to ever give FAN peace. All they would be allowing FAN to do was build up for a third war, in which FAN would be able to do a lot more damage than they're currently capable of doing.
^^This is the reason why war continues for all of you "moralists" out there. The above statement of fact, despite what Atrophis would have everyone think. It is not hard to comprehend, yet so many fail to do so.
Why should we show weakness by allowing FAN peace to grow and attack us 6 months down the road? I'm sure you'd all sleep better at night if FAN got the "white" peace they don't deserve and we'd get a negligible PR gain.
It would really stir that warm, fuzzy feeling in your "moralist's" soul. Then you all would have the added glee of soiling your undergarments with joy when FAN nuke attacks us in the not too distant future, because they have the balls to do that which you do not. Personally, I harbor no hatred for FAN. It is possible to respect one's enemy and I have much respect for their tenacity.
We do not trust them as they have stated their goal is the destruction of our alliance. We therefore remain at war with FAN, not out of fear, rather out of prudence. We do what we must for the security of the NPO.

I love how the Vox Fool takes minuscule snippets, spins the content off in the totally wrong direction, and the uninformed "haters of the ebil NPO" then soil their undergarments with glee. !@#$, you never even come close. However, I understand that you aren't trying to hit the target for accuracy anyway. Actually I guess that means you've done good this week. +1 for !@#$. Mission accomplished for this week. Kudos!

Hmmm, I'm too big for a Jarhead target. I have no ill will regarding Ivan or those who left to join him. I'm not being oppressed by my NPO government. I guess I'll just have to oppress myself until the next installment.

No, it really doesn't. It refers to 'plotting', but what I am curious about is what sort of plotting? What was he trying to do? What were some of the particulars of this plot?

I am starting to think of some of my "less savory" members as the Bad News Bears of CN. Kicked around, pushed into corners, possibly inept, possibly nonsociable, but they are mine now and until such time as they give me reason to doubt them I will stand by their side.No, you are confusing those who joined you with Vox leadership. They already own the rights to that title and unlike the Bad News Bears, they won't win anything whatsoever.

You are advocating for their neutrality. The strength of your argument lies in that you would ask them to stay neutral if they wanted to join your side as well. The fact that you wouldn't shows that you have double standards for acceptable behavior within CN, which you are so often critical of the NPO for having.Perhaps you are so critical of the NPO because you expect them to be better than yourself, but the way you carry yourself, it seems as though you are lecturing the rest of the world from a moral high ground, when in fact you're just as hypocritical as everyone else is. The sooner you are honest with yourself the sooner you can come to terms with yourself and end your self-righteous crusades.

Yes, this is the truth. there needs to be some kind of 'reset' to the regular version of CN. I've hit the limit on accomplishing everything I care to accomplish with my nation. There is no more challenge to growing my nation. There is no more challenge to obtaining wonders. The only challenge left is defending my alliance members.
Perhaps once you get older than (oh, let's say, 18 months) there should be an increasing chance that your nation will be deleted. Something like a new "event" but something so catastrophic that it actually results in the deletion of your nation. It shouldn't be immediate. Maybe it should give you 11 days to "get your things in order" (send 'goodbye' gifts to others). But this random 'nation death event' would have increasing probbility as you approach 24 months of existence, such that no nation would exst that is 25 months old.
Yeah, I sure the people who pour their RL money into this game would absoultely love that "event".
Perhaps events of a more devastating nature, but not complete loss of one's nation.

I read every thread in this. Nowhere did I mean anything OOC. It was all in a joking fashion. I'm sorry you saw it as "sort of IC, sort of OOC." The joke was about who ever had the position after their member entered his RL military service and the OP who now has the position. It was in no way directed at their member who is in the military. I have served my country in the Military. I am a Marine. He has nothing but my highest respect for his service.
