-Vauleo-Buryatian Peacekeepers preparing for civilian readiness exercises

Troops in Novaya Zemlya go to DEFCON 1.75 and wait for further orders. The 30,000 soldiers stationed on Novaya Zemlya move to standby mode. The two military cargo ships that left the mainland arrive in Novaya Zemlya and unload their cargo.

Military engineers immediately set about setting up several anti-ship batteries along the Novaya Zemlyan coastline. The B-01 D missiles are installed as rapidly as possible. Once the anti-ship missiles are activated the Islands would be protected by the latest THAAD, SDI, Anti Ship missiles, and anti-air positions.

The 30,000 soldiers at the base, and their equipment would make any attack on the islands an extremely dangerous feat. Once the anti-ship defenses were active, engineers would then be tasked with building 7 new missile silos on Novaya Zemlya that would be capable of deploying Vauleo-Buryatia’s Nuclear deterrent.

3,000 soldiers and 8,000 engineers from the mainland are deployed from the mainland forces into the protectorate bordering Slavorussia. The engineers begin a series of defense analyses, while the soldiers deploy 10 S-400 Tridents, 10 S-398 Odins, and a single S-510.2 Zenith AA system into the protectorate. The deployment was made rapidly in order to bolster the defense capability of Buryatian peacekeepers in the protectorate.

While in the protectorate, civilian contractors from the Engineers Corps begin constructing three large runways, and two long distance radar systems inside the protectorate. Although most people living in the region had become accustomed to the presence of Vauleo-Buryatian forces in the area, some people were surprised at the sudden increase in Vauleo-Buryatia’s military presence in the area.

-Vauleo-Buryatian soldiers head to the frontier

“The Head of Vauleo-Buryatia’s Peacekeeping operation in the Former Arsenia has announced the start of a three day civilian readiness exercise. This exercise will be used to gauge the readiness of the citizens of the region to respond to an imminent threat as well as the capability of existing emergency infrastructure to function efficiently during an emergency.

For the duration of the exercises, approximately 2,500 peacekeepers will be transferred from their regular duties to assisting with the exercises. To ensure stability, the Vauleo-Buryatian military has dispatched approximately 1,800 soldiers to the protectorate. These soldiers will assume the duties of the peacekeepers for the duration of the exercise. The Peacekeepers are expected to begin the first exercise as soon as the soldiers have arrived at the western border to relieve them.

For that period, the military will have direct control over the western border. As this border is sealed, there will be no inconvenience to travelers as a result of this change. Persons traveling on the B-93C Route to Vauleo-Buryatia may notice significant traffic delays over the next few days.”-Reporter

BCNA: Constant Vigilance begins

“Operation Constant Vigilance entered its first day today. The Buryatian Peacekeepers in the Former Arsenia region have reported a successful first day of operations. At 6:00am air raid sirens sounded across the Former Arsenia. Thousands of civilians in the zone of operations evacuated quickly to bomb shelters located in major cities. The Peacekeepers then tested their Emergency Readiness and Countermeasure Systems (ERCS) to ensure that they would be capable of handling a massive influx of civilians during an emergency.

The Buryatian Humanitarian Aid Division, in charge of aid distribution during an emergency, reported that their emergency aid distribution system was fully able to handle distribution during the first day of the operation. Shelters in the zone of operations filled rapidly as civilians heeded the warnings and evacuated as early as possible.

The Transport Department, on the other hand, reported some unforeseen problems with evacuation routes during the operation. A few of the routes in the east of the Former Arsenia became rapidly congested as people evacuated. A report was filed, and the government is reporting that it plans to revise the routes of evacuation to ensure that such an incident does not recur. The government is expected to include the report in the final submission to the Great People’s Khural, due to be filed next week.

Buryatian soldiers continue their duties on the borders while the Peacekeepers lead Operation Constant Vigilance. Day two of Operation Constant Vigilance is expected to include tests of the Peacekeeper Anti Missile System.”-Reporter

BCNA: Former Arsenia Provisional government praises Operation Constant Vigilance

"As Operation Constant Vigilance entered into its third day, the Provisional Government of the Former Arsenia praised the government's handling of the operations in the region. The Provisional Government announced its intention to cooperate fully to expand the aid and emergency response structures in the region to maximize their effectiveness and ability to respond rapidly when needed.

A spokesperson for the Provisional Government did not comment on the rumors of a pending referendum to join the Socialist Union of Vauleo-Buryatia. An anonymous spokesperson in the Vauleo-Buryatian government did not confirm or deny the rumors of a referendum, but instead suggested that even if such a referendum took place it would be highly unlikely that the central government would approve it's result. It is believed that President Trubachev would be prepared to veto such a referendum if indeed it did occur."-Reporter
