LVOV - A protest against the new leadership of Khislav was dispersed by the KOMOH following the announcement that the Slavic Union had released the new nation from it's rule. The demonstration reportedly has ties to Union loyalists who protested the secession from it's inception. The absence of several High Council members from deliberations seems to suggest their involvement in these disturbances; Minister Tatarin herself declared such collaboration with dissenters shameful and stated that the choosing of a Supreme Commander of Khislavite Armed Forces would be delayed until further notice. Several people were arrested following the break up, but only a few remain in custody pending charges of assault, destruction of property, and disorderly conduct. Three people were injured and released from the hospital.

KOLMIYA - The fields of the Stanislav Oblast thundered today during military training exercises in the remotest flatlands available. The Khislavite Forces practiced procedures essential to future war-fighting. The locals were warned a week in advance but a few still expressed confusion, uncertain whether or not Khislav was under attack. A flight of aircraft streaked across the sky just above the treetops according to a few reports, frightening livestock in the area. The very public drilling and maneuvering is believed to serve three purposes: to test the organization of the fighting force, determine where effectiveness needs to be improved, and to demonstrate to the world that Khislav truly does possess a disciplined, if small, military. At the close of the exercises, soldiers were encouraged to meet the locals, boosting morale.

LVOV - Word from the Union government regarding the hot issue of the self-determination of two Slavic provinces is that one, at least, will remain part of their nation. Official word is that the people of Ternopil had sacrificed much in the past, proving their loyalty to the Union, and it was concluded in Minsk today that the territory was not likely to accept changing hands. The topic of Chernivtsi is yet to be decided, and Lvov is still asking for a plebiscite vote in that region. In other news, Valinkovo Somonov is no longer governor. He was voted into office as the President of the Republic of Khislav after a landslide popularity vote. Earning more than 70% of the population's favor, edging out Prime Minister Veronika Tatarin - who was immediately appointed back to her post - to become our first president-elect.
