MostGloriousLeader
With business and discussions in the Athenian Federation concluded, President Bronson reboarded his aircraft and made his way to Tianxia. The President's plane requested permission to enter Tianxian airspace at the Athenian-Tianxian border and entered once given permission, landing at the designated airport. OOC: Yeah, I don'tknow much about Tianxia so I feel you should probably rp out the arrival.
Triyun
Ehestadt was the summer retreat of the Imperial Family, built around Vladivostok after its long occupation by the Japanese fascists. Named as the city of marriage by the European empress, it had been built up as a city that mixed Asian and European culture with Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and Austrian quarters, with vibrant imperial patronage of different architecture and cuisines. The Imperial Retreat was located across the bay from the port of Vladivostok itself, it was small compared to the Forbidden Cities across the Empire, instead it had been modelled off of the Qing Imperial Cabin in Chengde. Limousines would take the American Commonwealth delegation through the vast woodland hunting grounds, to the cabin itself. Awaiting him would be Prime Minister Hatoyama. The architect of much of the Empire's recent forays around the world. He had been taking an increasingly visible role in the foreign policy. MostGloriousLeader
President Bronson would greet the prime minister with a handshake and a smile. "Mr. Hatoyama, it is a pleasure to meet you and to be able to visit your country".
Triyun
"And you. We are glad to see that you have made your way here." Hatoyama said to the President. "Please come in." he said motioning him into the Imperial Cabin. Inside there were simplistic dark wooden decorations, based on the wood work stylings of the Tang Dynasty and Japan. It was large but not overly imperial like the forbidden city. "Please have a seat." the Prime Minister said gesturing him to a table where several cups of tea were set out. "So what brings you to the Empire?" he asked.
MostGloriousLeader
"The American Commonwealth seeks to adopt a more global outlook on foreign affairs and relations. Our foreign policy has so far been mostly limited to our immediate neighbors and concerns but we recognize this as a mistake. Foreign trade and economic development is key to economic success and ties must be forged to facilitate this development. Tianxia has been more or less a constant force in the world for a long time and it is for that reason we have elected to initiate relations with your country. As one of the world's premier powers we seek to forge diplomatic, economic and, eventually down the road, political and possibly military ties with your nation". Triyun
"It is good to see that you are taking a more broad view. Tianxia is also looking to expand its relations with the rest of the world and forge new strategic partnerships. We're willing to discuss diplomatic and economic arrangements. What sort of ones are you looking to get?"
MostGloriousLeader
"Ideally the reduction and eventual elimination of trade barriers and restrictions and the promotions of free trade would be something we strive towards depending on how far you're willing to go in such matters. I'd also like to propose a treaty of non-aggression and friendship as well as a cultural and educational exchange program so that our people may learn more about each other and hopefully strengthen future relations". Triyun
"The Empire's open to reducing trade barriers except in the area of national security where we have a historic preference to only sell case by case at the high end. IP transfers for making stealthy polymers for instance tend not to get approved even when we will sell you the material to equip on your own air planes. You surely can understand the logic behind this. In regards to a treaty of non-aggression and friendship we in principle can agree to something like that, would you have a document drafted that we can look over?" MostGloriousLeader
"Well I completely understand limits on issues involving national security. As for a document" he said as he waved to one of his aides who hurried over and presented a document from his briefcase. "I hope this can meet your approval". American Commonwealth-Tianxian Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation The signatories to this treaty re-affirm their desires for peaceful relations and the establishment of closer ties with each other through measures of mutual cooperation. Article I: Non-Aggression The parties to this treaty agree to renounce the use of military force against each other and resolve to clear any disputes through diplomatic means. Article II: Economic Cooperation Both parties will do their best to institute economic and trade policies that promote free enterprise and economic cooperation between their respective nations. Article III: Culture & Education Both parties will direct their various cultural and educational organizations and institutions to lay the frame work for cultural and education exchange programs between their respective nations in the hope that mutual learning of such matters will lead to a better and stronger relationship between their two peoples. Article IV: General Cooperation The parties to this treaty may also voluntarily offer assistance in other miscellaneous matters including diplomatic actions and non-sensitive intelligence that may be deemed important to the other signatory.
