Alas, the age of honor and politics are gone. This world has descended into the likes of a few alliances whose ego's are so large that they may collapse under their own weight, while in the dark recesses of their minds, they know that they will never attain the greatness or superiority of their most hated arch-rivals.

It must be hard to realize that while your enemy was and will be seen with the greatness of political maneuvering and will be remembered as the greatest alliance of the game, you will fall into obscurity and will not be remembered for anything you do. Your own inferiority complex has led you to do whatever necessary to cleanse the game of that which overshadows your petty and insignificant accomplishments. Congratulations Doomhouse, for accomplishing that everyone will remember that at the end of the world, the famous alliance that won the game kept fighting with their dignity and honor, against an opponent whose name will fade from the annals of history.

    Nicely said.

Becoming what you hate is not very becoming.

This is quite sad. Best of luck NPO, I am sure you will have yourselves plumped back up after this in no time.

Your history is a bit off; I was not Emperor during GWI so had no authority to end the war on behalf of NPO.
    [/quote]

No, you were not emperor of the NPO, but no one was acting on the behalf of the NpO and an end for the war was desired. You were attempting to facilitate that. It was a simple matter of how/who/what was going to be posted on behalf of the NpO with Tyga awol. I believe the story was that Tyga was in the hospital. After so many painful surrender statement revisions of dotting "I's" and crossing "T's" everyone was getting tired of it. No one knew where Tyga was or when he was returning at this point and there was some level of panic on how the war was going to end. I could be incorrect on who I discussed this with but I remember this conversation occurring quite clearly.

  3. You know what I find the most hilarious part of all is that the war was never legally ended. Somehow, due to a rush on Moo's part, and absence on Tyga's part and other various conflicts I accepted the final terms of surrender. I do not remember my legal role at the time (I do not believe I had a role at all but an extremely active member at the time) but I certainly never had the qualifications to accept such. So.. technically if you wish to carry on your bickering.. GWI is still an active war.

    Sincerely,

    Das Girl

  4. Well this was a pleasant surprise. Congratulations to both of you. I suppose I should be happy that MCXA is moving away from NPO, as that is what I tried so hard to achieve, but I feel that this is happening for the wrong reasons. Nevertheless, I don't want to rain on your parade. Congratulations again.

Perhaps it is time for you to let go Francesca dear.

Much love to MCXA, I am very pleased to see this come about. I look forward to seeing bridges built between our alliances.

    O/ Gopher!

    O/ Fresh!

    O/ MrD!

    O/ KingEd!

Frankly the whole lot of you are mighty fine!

  5. I am very sorry to hear about the destruction to your communication center. I wish you the best of luck in settling the matter, getting your forums in order again and sorting out your membership. I know how devastating these attacks can be. There are no circumstances that make this sort of thing okay, ever.

  6. *Experimentum bows to one knee before the esteemed Das Girl

*Experimentum risks being so presumptuous as to offer a hug

It is truly a pleasure to see you, fair lady. I've sincerely missed you and would be happy to have you commenting here even if it were to flay me. As fellow citizens from the very earliest days of Digiterra, we've seen the world change before ours eyes in ways we would never have imagined yet, ironically, those of us that have been here from the start have only grown closer. Heck, Arctic/Quercus and I actually talk to Ivan on occasion in a mutually respectful manner. Who ever would've thought that could happen?

    Again, welcome, fair Das Girl.

Of course, a hug would be wonderful from one old-timer to another. There is a certain bond between those who have survived all odds, I fully agree. It is a pleasure to see you as well, you really should come out and visit much more often.

I do still stand firm that I have only seen the utmost integrity in all of the pieces you have written in regards to Digiterra. The truth seems quite apparent and my lenses certainly are not rose-colored.

  7. mhawk, I believe that what you are doing is honorable, and that in itself is rare enough these days.

I hope you realize, however, that your commitment to being the last one to quit the battlefield is something that your Red friends would never consider were the situation reversed. What they did to TORN on the first day of the war they would do to you, if given half a chance. All you are doing with your pledge is enabling them. Regardless of the gratitude they may express to you, their only real concern is themselves. I've no doubt about this.

You're no fool, so you have probably come to this conclusion yourself, but see no way out given what you have said since the beginning of this war.

I can see how you might be conflicted, given the circumstances. You have given your word, and no one with a trace of honor wants to go back on their word. After all, it really is all we have in a world of pixels. But your alliance is now a mere shadow of what it once was.

Historically, the members of my alliance have not been the greatest fans of The Phoenix Federation, so I hope you will realize that I have nothing to gain by saying that I, for one, do not wish to see your alliance destroyed. I fear, however, that the course you have chosen will ultimately lead to that.

So, with that in mind I hope you will take a page from your ally's playbook and put the interests of your alliance and its members ahead of the New Pacific Order.

Realize that if TPF were to walk away from this war, not a single person of any importance would hold it against you. Not now. Not ever.

I don't know what kind of reparations have been suggested or whether any offer has been made at all. What I do know is that TPF, applying the resolve it has displayed in this war, would be able to easily meet any demands put to it.

I hardly expect you to say, "Gosh kingzog, you're right! I'm going to call the Karma Surrender Hotlinetm right now!" But I do hope you will at least reflect on what I'm saying in the days and weeks ahead. No doubt you have the full support of your government and your members, and I cannot imagine that this support would diminish in the slightest.

Regardless of the path you ultimately choose, when all is said and done my offer to drop by for a chat once this mess is over still stands.

    You have my respect.

    Very well put KingZog.

To Mhawk and TPF, I have nothing but admiration for the dedication that you have shown to your allies. You have proven yourselves as true allies good to your word.

I will not fault you for the dedication that you have shown, but I do question at this point what you feel that you are accomplishing this far into the war. I do not mean this as an insult, so please do not take it as such. Those who wish to attack NPO, will attack the NPO. I truly believe that you are simply being beat at this point without really taking any substantial pressure from your ally. I have seen you fight, I have seen your numbers drop and have seen the courage you have shown, there is a time however to realize that you are simply not effective any longer except to grind yourselves further to dust. You have fought and you have fought well at incredible odds and for what it is worth I praise you for that strength which few others have.

I know a suggestion to you to surrender at this point would be a fruitless effort, so I will not do so. Instead, I do hope that the New Pacific Order will encourage you to step away and take your wounded from the field and let them heal and bury your dead. TPF, you have suffered far too much.

Das Girl bows her head and recognizes a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives in this war.

  8. @ Sir Sci,

You sir, have me at a disadvantage, because there are many things I’d like to say but cannot. I will say this however. I’m sure you’re aware that some while ago, many of the “Old Guard” as you put it, got together and offered their advice for the reformation of GATO. They were tired of seeing it flounder around as an impotent giant. Their advice was ignored. So before you start invoking the names of the Old Guard, ask yourself what they would think of the GATO of today. You seem to feel that they would approve. I’m not so sure that’s a valid statement/assumption.

    @ Ragashingo,

In addition to the remarks above, let me add this. GATO tried very hard to mend relations with the NPO before the GATO-1V, and their reward was to be put under a viceroy for a spurious CB. A CB, I might add, which at its heart involved the OOC persecution of the individual behind the IC persona known as Chris_Kaos, otherwise known as EZI, a policy which Moo denied ever practicing in the OP. That GATO would accept a PIAT after said occupation comes as no great surprise for a number of reasons. That doesn't change the fact that I consider it an unfortunate act.

Also, on the one hand you are downplaying said PIAT, while simultaneously making it sound as if all is now peace and light between the two alliances. So which is it? As I mentioned before, the fact that das girl waited until about 2 weeks ago to return to GATO speaks volumes, as does the fact that someone like BarbulaM1 would pen lines such as these below:

If someone as diplomatic as BarbulaM1 is willing to voice these thoughts on the OWF, it makes me wonder what thoughts remain unvoiced in the minds of many other GATOans.

    tl;dr

Yes, the generation of the Old Guard was an important part of GATO. But so were the later generations that followed – some of whose legacy, contributions and history now seem to have been expunged. That is the point I was trying to make.

Edit. Of course the same point also applies to the Legion. And here I'll reference a post made by soccerbum879 ITT:

Yes, there are reasons that I waited for my return to GATO. They are not for this thread however. If you have questions on that, I would be glad to answer them privately or in a thread more relevant to the subject. Yes, a part of it had to do with NPO's obvious ill-feelings that they had for me in the past in GATO. Now having spent quite some time out of GATO I would hope that they realize (as a former ally of them) I am not the evil NPO hating person that they thought I was and the past grudges would be just that... past.

This thread is about the NPO refusing terms and I don't blame them for doing so.

  9. Heh, I guess that was a typo on his part, logistically possible makes sense ;)

There are just too many nations that are absent for OOC-reasons: exams, vacations, moving, marriage, baby being born, etc. We will not kick out members who have a very good reason of being away, and we will not force them to pay attention to things that are completely irrelevant to their present situation. I would not want to be part of such an alliance, and fortunately, Moo thinks the same. We will not accept those 90%.

The majority of what I have seen is not an unwillingness to accept making the requested payments, only a refusal to accept what seems a near impossible feat. I understand, this is an amazingly busy time of year for a lot of folks and would present a huge challenge. To be forced to war for two weeks, not so bad. To be put at war indefinitely until that 90% is reached could(and likely would) be a disastrous mistake. I would not rush to judge this as a poor decision on the part of the NPO.

I believe I have a grasp on what Karma is trying to do, but I don't believe this is the way. A more reasonable number of warmode members being offered perhaps, or a consequence for those who do not pull out of peace mode? 90% at those strength limits is quite unreasonable, I think few alliances would be able to achieve that level of activity.

I sincerely wish the best of luck for all parties involved to bring this matter to a close.

  10. I could certainly name many very nice people that I have met in my time. To pick one however I would have to say Virillus. I have always known him to be very kind, and to recognize the good out of the worst of us. If Virillus has a mean side at all.. I certainly have not witnessed it.

  11. I am not vain. Much of what I wrote in my original post does not reflect well on me. I was also fully aware that this thread would lose me a lot of trust and respect. Therefore, I'm hardly joining this out of some pathetic attempt to garner PR. The thing is, if I had chosen not to tell people the truth about who and what I am, they might have respect what I claimed to be but they would never truly respect me. Then I needed to provide an explanation for the way I acted, and this is what this is.

So, you are saying that simply letting that part of your game play fade into existence. Not putting your identity in the Vox thread. None of that could have been done? Had you simply not exposed yourself there would have been absolutely nothing for you to explain. You did not need to do a thing Fran but move on. What is pathetic is your attempts to deny this. What else is really pathetic is that a certain MCXA member was trying very hard to get others to stop speaking ill of you only to have this thrown in his face. I hope you have since apologized to him for the utter embarrassment you caused him.

Perhaps you had good intentions, the world will never really know. I hope that you can show truthful and honest loyalties to VE, they are a good group of folks and I would hate to see them manipulated.

  12. You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little $%&@ed up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to $%&@in' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

Yes, you are funny. Not the "you are just faaabulous kind of funny", "needs deodorant kind of(smells) funny," balloon animal making kind of funny" or "creepy uncle" kind of funny. More like, "I can't decide if he needs the white coat with the buckles in the back but what the hell you make me laugh" kind of funny. So yes, I guess you are "here to make me laugh and to !@#$@#$ amuse me?"

Also: Thanks Mpol777, I have always enjoyed your postings.
