    A Public Apology to Chefjoe and Valhalla

    On behalf of the Republic of Illinois to Chefjoe, NoWedge and Valhalla, I, Eldritch, apologize publicly for my insults on behalf of what was, at first, a dire misunderstanding that became a frustrating issue gone sour.

    To be brief on the issue, I registered with Browncoats to help them out and build relations with Valhalla in the process. I was then offline for a time as RL has been more than hectic (I have been separated from my three girls and my wife since mid-September and they came back here the same week as this happened) and in this time I did forget, and apologize for, not giving my resignation to Valhalla. I assumed, making an $@! of myself, that since I served Valhalla and fought for Valhalla even as a POW of Valhalla, defending Valhalla on IRC and in battles, that they would at first come to me and ask what is going on, instead attacked me without questioning me. Since this happened instead of approaching me first then attacking, I apologize. I also apologize for any insults given to Valhalla, as most other Alliances would have done the same thing, attack first and ask questions later. This, I found to my surprise, is standard procedure in most major Alliances.

    I fully accept the consequences of my actions and I give this public apology, sincerely to Chefjoe, NoWedge and Valhalla so that I may be able to move on from this occurrence, learning from my mistakes and hopefully move on to better ventures. My only complaint while serving in Valhalla is that I was enduring RL crises and could not be more active as much as I was when I first joined Valhalla.

    I was notified by Old Guard that in order for me to be relieved of the Valhalla Perma-ZI list I must make a public apology to Chefjoe. I not only do this for the reason of being excluded from this but I also do this as it was wrong of me to insult, especially in the manner in which I did so, emotionally and abruptly without thinking and acting on a level below my normal demeanor. (Though the responses of "BAWW" were quite charming I must say...)

    Valhalla Announcement

    I tried to think of a witty response to Valhalla's fail declaration of war, but I didn't so I'll just say:

    Goodbye Valhalla. It wasn't nice to see you, hope I don't see you again.

    KInd words from an Alliance we hold a treaty with. Should we say the same for your declaration against GOLD? Shall we spam and insult your actions because of your assault in a war we are not directly involved in?

    We are honoring a treaty, not fighting in this war directly, much like the NPO is with GOLD interfering with FAN.

    So please, those who speak from the NPO, please save face with an Alliance who is also tied to you by treaty. We would honor our treaty just the same as if you were attacked! Stop the insults, please...

    actually the terms were written explicitly to recognize CIS's history as a multi-colored alliance in practice (we were only about 45-50% green even when we were a 'green' alliance) and that no CIS nations would be forced to move to white. So, the terms would be technically followed with one CIS nation on white.

    That's excluding that (which I will grant is open for interpretation) I believe the terms were only to move from green - white happened to be what I chose to move us to. I'd argue that the real terms, which we followed was simply leaving green.

    Regarding \m/'s gov... no, the one who's been most beligerent to us and has been the source of most if not all of \m/'s antagonism to CIS is still in gov. But I find amusement in his actions, so no worries.

    I think you and Chairman Hal should chat things over coffee and IRC. You two could work together so well on tying things off, it would be incredible to see things through on a friendly basis...

    That, and the fact that bothy of you are former LIH...

    Actually thats how I used to tech raid. I would make sure thats how the nation was truly gone. If they were not, I wold pay reps for my two assaults. If they did not respond I would go in, guns ablazing, taking what tech I got a hold of. So this is not BS. Its true of many Alliances I know about, including \m/...
