  1. Protip: You're going to end up going to war then.

    OOC: y r u stealing my avatar?

IC: maybe don't declare war on Karma, I would say threaten to nuke, but you lack them. Maybe work together and attack the tech raiders and write "ACTIVE, DO NOT RAID" in your nation descriptions.

Also there are no raids currently occurring.

  2. Frankly - this is a perfect example of the type of pieces needed around here. SO MANY stories from the "past" have yet to be told. I love seeing the behind the scenes stuff made public, over time, as its the real story behind CN and the core of CN is driven at this behind the scene level in my opinion.

I concur, maybe someone create an archive thread for stories, logs and posts of alliances and incidents that are long lost their meaning to current political events, so we can learn from the past, rather than repeat it.

Personally, I've always wanted to see the logs of the moments before GWI

  3. Look, I will give credit where credit is due. NPO's retention has amazed me during this war. What that shows me though is what a complete culture NPO has on its own. It's for the most part disconnected from the rest of the world. Look in any thread of yours that would point towards the OWF and you will find post after post of NPO members saying how the OWF isnt worth wasting time on. It's quite possible that has an effect on a large amount of your nations that they believe they should not look outwards and get to know others. When part of a culture that large, you already have plenty of people to get to know.

Back in September 2008 (if not earlier), there was the stigma that there were massive personality conflicts between Pacifians and certain members of the OWF, which in turn could lead to risen warn levels and bans. In order to prevent the ban of their members, I believe the NPO put the limited posting on OWF into effect. This is of course second or third hand information, but make of it what you would like.

And also all those saying, NPO grunts are blind, stupid, dumb, brainwashed, etc. etc. please take into account that they too can read the OWF and chat in IRC just like the rest of Planet Bob and thus draw their own conclusions.

  4. Good luck in the SPL, maybe pull a solid season and get 3rd or runner up in a cup to Celtic and the scum.

I kid of course, GL and hopefully your stay in top flight will be long and prosperous.

  5. Crushing these alliances will only continue CN down the path of vengeance it has followed since July of 2006. I look at Karma's leaders and membership in I see a strong combination of members from the CoaLUEtion, the League, Ageis, The Unjust Path, and Polaris's allies in WoC. If your telling me this war is only to punish the NPO, allow me to give a strong chuckle.

Off of Margrave's point, white peace is a huge risk. What one is hoping through it is that the alliance receiving peace will return the favor by not going to war with them in the next war. Hopefully the alliances receiving it will remember it.

  6. So, are you going to answer the question ? :P

There will be a just conclusion for Karma, just not everyone will see it that way. My point being, the NPO is not an innocent so them being punished by terms considered as harsh would not be the same as some of the terms they have dealt out to innocent alliances in the past or those guilty of minor "crimes".

So, no matter how often certain elements parrot the line that anything more than white peace is new boss, just like the old boss, they are deluding themselves or at best trying to fool others into believing such a ridiculous statement.

If the Karma Coalition remains intact after this war is over (and I doubt it will) and begins to hunt down alliances one by one and apply cruel and unnecessary terms on them and their allies that dare defend them, then I'll concede your point. But until then it is just wishful thinking on your part.

I avoid answering straight up questions, cuz that's how everyone rolls here on Planet Bob :D

I don't think Karma will become the new Bloc on the block, nor will they follow the war mongering the NPO has done since NAAC stole some oxygen. NPO does need to pay for some items they have committed that have been at best questionable, but the question remains is how much should they pay in which Karma does not enact karma.

Edit: I still blame you and Duffman for starting this whole shindig, but thank you at the same time :D

There are enough alliances that the role of good guy, bad guy, and ugly guy can be taken elsewhere. This plot line is over done...Needs new bad guy.

This is true, but I'd rather have the Joker than Two-face, Poison Ivy, and Bane.

  7. So, by your logic, if someone is convicted of abducting a person and locking them in a dungeon for 10 years and are subsequently sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for their crime, then the legal system is "just as bad as" the person convicted?

If we follow modern day thinking, its society's fault, not just the courts, for the said kidnapper turned out.

Aside from that, there will be no just conclusion for Karma, because with super harsh terms (ie economically, militarily, or even disbandment) the theory Karma started this war on (theory of karma) will rear its ugly head to the enforcers of these terms.

If NPO gets too light of terms, NPO follows the basic war law of Planet Bob: revenge.

To break from my objectiveness, I believe CN needs NPO just as much as we need MK or FAN. There needs to be a Joker to everyone's Batman, or else the story becomes dry.

  8. What happens next? Simple:

Draw new lines, erase old ones, and prepare for the next global conflict. There is no end to the cycle the Orders and the CoaLUEtion created nearly three years ago. What we see as the end is only the beginning. We may say there will be individuality, there will be autonomy, but in the end we will end up where Tyga's nuke struck Duffman, and dance the dance of war, only this time with new partners.

  9. Are they all ODPs then?

The treaty in question is suspended due to other treaty obligations which were activated compared with the treaty in question which was not activated.

ie. Alliance R DoW on alliance N. Alliance N has a MDoAP to alliance L, making that MDP activate. Alliance O has a MDoAP with alliance L, but has no need to activate the treaty. This means only the activated treaty takes priority in comparison with the not activated treaty. If the treaty between alliance O and alliance L is forced to become active, then, unless both parties agree to suspend the treaty until after the war due to fighting on opposite sides (Yet still remain the bestest of best friends), both should follow through on their obligations.

    Also:

  10. I present the only two situations that would have come from this war:

    1

Legion: We will honor our treaty

Trolls: LOL Lapdogs, LOL Stockholm Syndrome, LOL suck ups, LOL paper tigers

    2

Legion: We cancel our MDP with the NPO

Trolls: Traitors, Cowards, classic Legion move, LOL paper tigers

So with the trolls already obtaining a predisposed mindset, one should just lol them away for they have nothing creative to add to the conversation.

    EDIT: still ODN  here
