  1. When Craven was the emperor of Bushido, and I trusted him, I gave him all my embassy/forum logins, because I'm very sick and I didn't want the embassies to go inactive.

In light of (somewhat) recent events, I ask that the following alliances please DELETE my name and password from their forums. If I get well enough to become MoFA again (and accepted as such), I will re-apply.

As of now neither I, nor Bushido can be held responsible for any posts in any alliance forums under the name "Slug" or "AtomicSlug", especially the following:

    ACDC

    NPO

    NpO

    OTF

    Ragnarok

    Red Faction

    TRUST

    Valhalla

    WolfPack

    tia for ur understanding!

PS If I double posted, pls forgive me, my computer froze while posting. Some sort of conspiracy, I presume.

  2. Craven - after the new butt hole I got drilled when I screwed up, I did NOT expect you to!!!

I gave u my pw to sit my account and told u that I would follow you (long ago), but sorry man, I can't follow u after this. It's a matter of honor. I also changed my pw. PM me on CN pls 2 xplain ur side.

I'm still trying to catch up and figure out what happened, so pls, all y'all bear with me....

So... big surprise. Firstly I ask that RoK ceases attacks on Bushido I resigned earlier today.

2ndly. Rok got some info about me that was true, I was questioned about It. I did not withhold info, I didnt say what he wanted, because he wouldnt tell me what he wanted. I revealed info I shouldnt, and now I know talking at all was a mistake.

I have nothing against RoK or anyone else in this game. I just ask that Bushido is spared, you can ZI me and do what ever. Ill tell you what ever. Just leave Bushido alone. I know this isnt the most official and pretty looking, but for just being declared on its the best I can do. Im sorry to those I caused problems. Take it out on me, no one else.

  3. I've ordered all Ragnarok nations to offer peace. We won't request reps as I feel he has taken enough damage. I feel his apology to us via PM is genuine and he is free to go back to Bushido if they choose to allow him ...

    Word.

One alliance felt that I suffered enough, and believe me, I did!. The other one demanded reps, which I PERSONALLY paid.

All is well, and I am back with Bushido and much the wiser!

Thanks again to all alliances which took my severe ZI depletion and/or my personal reps. And many many thanks to Craven, who accepted me back to the alliance I love so much, Bushido! :)

  4. It depends on how one tech raids. For instance, I only raid unaligned nations or nations that are in very small alliances. Of those nations, I prefer to raid those that are at least 10 days inactive. I choose not to attack with CMs or planes when raiding, and simply achieve a numerical superiority in tanks and troops and run two "cautious" attacks. Minimal soldier deaths, minimal destruction and only a few lost tech to show for it. After those two attacks, I ask for peace.

Those guidelines in mind, I compare tech raiding to the modern property laws, in that the law favors those putting property to its best use. For example: if I own a piece of property but it was overgrown until my neighbor started farming on it 21 years ago, the courts say that property is my neighbors (its more complicated than that but I'm summarizing).

Planet Bob is full of alliances. To be unaligned is a signal of apathy, ignorance or the inability to conform to the rules and guidelines of ANY alliance. Small alliances are little improvement. It can be inferred, then, that the tech held by these nations is not being put to its best use. As a member of a mid-sized alliance with personal aspirations of growth and military superiority, my nation would put the same tech to a better/more efficient use.

I do think some nations bully in their raids, running Planned or Aggressive attacks over multiple days and using their air force or CMs in the attack. If a tech-raid is out of necessity, this should not occur...especially given the cost of CMs and planes. To use them shows a malicious intent, which is indeed bullying.

ADDED IN EDIT: I would like to say that, while Levittownistan's policies are influenced by the rules of TPF, the preceding statements reflect the opinons of Levittownistan leadership and not that of TPF.

I have to agree with most of that.

I mean, if I changed my AA to none, i would get raided, for sure! What more proof do I need?

Case closed, and hopefully, topic closed!

  5. Cyber bullying is "Give me 50 tech or I'll come to your house and eat your food."

Tech Raiding is "I want your tech, if you want me to stop, fight back."

Bullying is picking on those who can't fight back and discouraging them so they never do.

Tech Raiding is picking on those who have a slim or broader chance to fight back, minus the threats.

Tech Raiders who pull a full ZI are Bullies, the only exception.

I don't care if you disagree or not, but that's how I view it, and I voted "Nah."

    I totally agree!

Early in my nation's history, I blackmailed a player into giving me 15 tech for me to stop attacking. He did.

Then, I realized that this was MOST dishonorable, so I gave the 15 tech back, at a much higher cost to me, but it was the right thing to do.

I don't condone ZIing anyone, except if they are only here to talk trash, insult and swear at you. For example, some guy with only like 1000 NS told me he would nuke me and swore like hell at me. So that is just retarded, and that deserves a ZI. But I still don't believe in permanent ZIs and ZI lists. Once is enough. If they don't learn, ZI them until they do, but don't put them on a permanent ZI list. That just discourages new players from joining, which I presume is the goal of the founders and the players!

Just my opinion. That and 52 cents will buy me a cheap beer! :o

  6. Tech raiding isn't the most honorable thing to do, but it is a part of the game and you just deal with it. It isn't 'cyberbullying'.

Join an alliance like NPO if you're really worried about tech raiding. No one in their right mind tech raids red.

I agree, Bart, but wow. I got blasted for tech raiding, and then having the nations I tech raided join an alliance, and then those alliances asking for reps! And I was under the impression that most nations disapproved of tech raiding, but from this poll, I see the opposite. Strange....

Yeah, 2 of the 3 I raided were aligned, my bad, and believe me, I paid for it.

Raided someone yesterday then offered peace. They attacked back (expected), offered peace, but when the server turned over, they attacked again then joined an alliance. So what choice did I have but to offer peace again? Was glad they accepted.

I lost more than I gained. So if u tech raid, be careful of "tricks" like this.

Also, from now on I only attack non-aligned nations to encourage them to join an alliance, not to necessarily tech raid. And I only usually attack one time and offer peace. If they fight back, fine. Again, I expect it. If they join an alliance for protection, well, my mission is complete, even if I lose overall.

One more thing: if players don't want to be tech raided, go hippie, or join an alliance. I always recommend that n00bs join a small alliance because the requirements, rules, tests, repayment of enticements if u chose to leave, etc., etc. of the largest alliances can be completely overwhelming. And I ABSOLUTELY mean NO disrespect to the large alliances!! I want to make that perfectly clear. I respect all y'all but, u have to admit, that for n00bs, it can be confusing and just way too much information to learn and absorb and also a lot more time than newer players can spend on CN.

OK, hopefully, I didn't piss anyone off with this post this time? lol

  7. Lets hope that your apology, which seems heartfelt, draws a line under this messy affair.

And remember, if it all seems too much, step away from the keyboard.

Thank you, Lord Rune. I did step away from the keyboard for a day, and realized that 2/3 of the nations I had a gripe with were, in fact, allied. I still don't know how I made such a huge mistake, but I cannot duplicate the search problem, so it MUST have been ENTIRELY my own personal mistake :(

I made a terrible series of mistakes which I will NOT duplicate again. I have more than learned some very valuable lessons about the written and unwritten rules of CN.

If members still wish to ZI me, well, that is the price I have to pay for my ignorance of these rules. I don't think it is worth the effort, but if the alliances I mistakenly attacked do, well, again, so be it.

If the affected alliances would like to give me a 2nd chance, I would like very much to re-join my former alliance if that is possible (obviously, this is up to Craven). If not, well, I have a large amount of offers from other alliances + cash incentives. I would not like to sell myself out to the highest bidder, though, because Craven and Bushido have been fantastic to me, and I have also helped a lot of their members. Bushido is a highly honorable alliance, which is why I committed sepukku by quiting and accepting my ZI fate.

Please accept my apology and do not blame Bushido for my personal mistakes. Craven tried very hard to get me to stop my foolishness, but, being the fool I was, I continued. I previously asked Craven to be my 2nd in case I ever needed to commit sepukku, and from his post, I see he has accepted. Thank you, Craven!

Anyway, apologies again. Absolutely no one asked me to apologize, this was entirely of my own volition. I promise to study more these forums and the written and unwritten rules of conduct so that I will not jeopardize my nation and any alliance I belong to in the future.

    [OOC Content removed]

Peace and understanding in the Holiday season please,

    Sincerely,

    AtomicSlug

  8. Now that I have my posting permissions reinstated, I would like to personally apologize for my mistakes.

I did not know that the nations I attacked were aligned. This was completely my fault, and had nothing to do with Bushido. In fact, Craven asked me to declare peace so he could pay reps. During his negotiations, however, I was verbally attacked in the forum for tech raiding, something I did not realize what a large number of members consider unfair, and bad behavior. During the ensuing argument, I tried desperately to clarify my statement and my questions, but the thread was closed, and my posting permissions removed.

Then, I was attacked and declared on by two alliances. I attacked back. I was then told that it was customary for alliances to declare but NOT attack when they were seeking reps. I did not know this, which is why I attacked.

I voluntarily left Bushido because my words and actions were completely against the Bushido code of honor. So the only acceptable thing for me to do, again, against Craven's wish, was to quit Bushido and in effect, commit seppuku by not dragging Bushido or any other alliances and high-ranked friends into a battle that was completely my fault.

So I apologize to all the members of CyberNations, especially those of the Red Faction and Ragnarok for my gross misunderstandings which just seemed to compound themselves as I tried to resolve and explain things.

I also apologize to the admins for not reading the rules of the forum, and for a slightly nasty email exchange. And I would also like to thank the admins for calming me down and fixing my posting permissions so that I could post this public apology.

In short: I was not aware of several written and unwritten rules of conduct because I have not had enough time to spend participating in the CN forum. But ignorance of the law is no excuse, so if all y'all feel I need to be ZIed for some serious mistakes I made, so be it. If however, you would like to give me a second chance, I will promise the following:

    1) I will not antagonize members of the CN forum in the future

    2) I will spend a lot of time in the CN forum reading and asking questions so that I do not make any more huge mistakes in the future.

    3) Since I am no longer allied, I will personally pay Ragnarok and Red Faction reparations, if they can allow me to get in the black again so I can make the money to pay them, or if they will accept tech as an alternative.

    4) If Bushido will take me back, I would appreciate it. If not, I totally understand. And whether I remain unallied or join another alliance, I will keep my head and temper clear and will not make the same mistake again.

Lastly, I have been suffering from severe medical and personal problems, and this obviously affected my game play. I play CyberNations to sort of forget about my problems, but when I was bombarded with messages and threats in the forum and PM's, and when I was declared on for not paying reps when I wasn't even told what the reps were, I completely overreacted, and again, I am very very sorry for that. Whether you want to ZI me or not, please at least accept my most sincere apologies for my ignorance and misunderstandings. And also my utmost apologies to Craven for bringing this dishonor upon Bushido :(

  9. @The OP:

You do need to remember that what you are doing to innocent unaligned nations is even more unfair than being forced to paid reps once they are aligned.

In your message, you are basically saying that if an unaligned nation is attacked, then they don't have the right to protect themselves by possible retaliation and/or joining an alliance. I think you are messed up in your thinking, and you need to reiterate everything.

Take my warning. Excessive tech raiding will cause you nothing but harm in the end.

    Warning taken and experienced :)

But don't know many players here who have NEVER tech raided. And I agree that they have the right to protect themselves by joining alliance. But I don't agree that that alliance should then ask me for reparations when I attacked that nation when it was NOT aligned.

Lastly, see my other posts. I did a search for alliance=none and both the results AND the nation display for those I targeted showed them as alliance=none. I have yet to find out why.

I'm will to pay reps and work things out with the affected nations and alliances. Again, I'm not complaining about attacking an aligned nation, I'm just wicked curious as to why those nations showed their alliance as NONE!

No need to reply further. My tech raiding will be over or very infrequent from now on, and I am working out diplomatic relations and reps with the affected alliances.

Again, thanks all for the useful comments :) Peace out.

PS I wanted to be just Slug instead of AtomicSlug, but apparently, I can't change my name on CN.

  10. The Lord, I mean Dilber has spoken care to take him up on his challenge?, I'm sure the research and time you invest to identify yours victims, surly you could find one lone RED NATION out there.

I see now your quite a church mouse, nothing to add or do you fear a loosing battle ahead?

Actually, I crushed those who attacked me, but thanks for the sentiment :-)

But I'm also not afraid of losing.

What I'm very very curious about is why those nations showed up in a global search for alliance=none! If anyone can shed light on THAT point, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I didn't ask for any replies about tech raiding. I asked for opinions on unaligned players who join an alliance when they are at war. Period.

PS: I promise to give back Red Faction the $300K or so in abandoned equipment.

  11. I can't speak for any alliances specifically. The GPA never accepts warring nations, but that's just us. When I think about it, I have no idea what other alliances use as their policy.

I (neutrally, of course :P) think that having you pay reparations would be inappropriate because they didn't have any say before your target joined that alliance. Especially if, as you said, your target retaliated first.

Needless to say, it'd probably also be a good idea to stop attacking whoever you're attacking. Just sayin'

Listen, I don't care if they fight back, in fact I EXPECT it! What I don't expect is for them to suddenly decide that they will join an alliance just to avoid being attacked, and also making sure they get in the last attack before they get protected.

I'm not looking for sympathy, I just wanted to know what alliances thought in general about accepting members who are currently at war, and also if other members have had the same thing done to them. OK? No sympathy asked. Just some questions and suggestions.

PS the last nation in my list was aligned, but his AA showed "none", so I suspect some alliance members are purposefully changing their AA to none, then changing it back when they get attacked. Or, they never set their AA to begin with.

PPS I found tech raiding to be pretty useless anyway after a certain infra and tech level because often you pay more rebuilding your infra than the tech you gained, so I had planned to stop raiding after that batch.

PPPS Thank for the useful replies, no thanks for the stupid useless ones :-P

PPPS: the problem had to do with the global search, for some strange reason, allied nations showed up when I searched for alliance=none, and also showed their alliance as none when I attacked. It could be a cache problem with my browser, so apologies to any allied nations I attacked, and I'm willing to establish mutual embassies and work things out :-)

  12. OK this is really pissing me off. I tech raid once and a while, and ALWAYS do it on unaligned nations.

Yesterday, THREE nations that I was attacking counterattacked me, then immediately sought out an alliance.

The first was Adolf Von Sippycup of Kalee, who applied both to OTF and The Mafia at the same time. I got a message from OTF asking me to declare peace, which I did, but then Sippy joined The Mafia and screwed both me and OTF.

The second was (and still is until resolved) Fried Porkchop of Glock17 who joined Ragnarok after I attacked his UNALIGNED nation.

The last was (and still is until resolved) Comandante Prudence of The Union of Mu who joined the Red Faction after I tech raided him.

So now I have two alliances demanding reparations because of alliance joining and hopping of unaligned nations.

I *thought* it was customary NOT to accept new members to your alliance if they were currently at war! And for me to pay reparations or have them try to ZI me is just ridiculous!

I would like to suggest two things:

    1) All alliances, please do not accept new members until AFTER they have obtained peace with everyone they are at war with, and

    2) That there be a modification to the code that will NOT allow you to change your AA while you are at war.

If anyone else has had the same problem, please reply. This is completely unfair and ridiculous!
