  1. The red nation stevent37 is at war with is 17 days inactive and his war screen shows that he has been raided by MDC, MRA, Illuminati, MoO, and Atlantis throughout the past two weeks or so. So it seems like he's not being offered protection for whatever reason. Or maybe the NPO's just missed him, I don't know.

  2. And now I understand why mapmakers quit so often. <_<

Honestly people, there are about 8 different maps where you can have your alliance put wherever the hell you want it, but the purpose of this map was to group the colors together.

  3. Gotta give credit to NPO - by luring the unaligned into the red team if NPO controls the red team senate seats then NPO controls the unaligned nations to some degree or another as well. It is probably the most original act of subtle strategy I've seen in the year I've been playing the game.

I guess you missed it when FAN did it like 5 months ago.

  4. No, there is a Confederacy of Armed Nations actually.

I believe they changed to the Confederation of Allied Nations, because when peoples searched for "Federation of Armed Nations" during VietFAN people would accidentally declare on members of the Confederation of Armed Nations.

I wouldn't be surprised if you guys ran into the same problem yourselves.

  5. This week we have seen the implementation of spies. The biggest fear I have, is that spies, makes wars more expensive, more destructive and less popular. Spies can destroy tanks, cm's, money reserves, technology, nuke's and infrastructure, while they can't loot anything. So basicly wars will be less attractive because you can lose a lot of infra, money and tech while you can only loot 1 miljon and 5 tech and some land with ground attacks. There won't be enough benefits for the victorious fighter.

Wars will become less economical attractive, and we will see more neutral alliances rising to the top and less major wars. Anyone else shares this vision?

NOTE: I have lost 1300 infra during the last war, I am not like "awwww this will hurt my nation", I am just afraid that this game will turn in Sim city instead of a cool political wargame.

You don't go into an alliance wide war for your individual nation's economic gain, you go in to destroy the entire enemy alliance. Spies will just make alliance wars faster and more destructive on both sides.

However, spies might discourage individual nation wars (tech-raids in particular) because now if your target wakes up and wants some revenge, he has another weapon to hit you with.

  6. Has it already been said what treaties these guys are honoring or are they just wanting a fight and deciding TJL is the most likely side to fight on to lose as little NS as possible?

i commend you for not reading the thread but still being able to come to such an accurate and complete understanding of the issue.

  7. by the time this war is over, some alliances who currently hold doctines of hegemony (NPO and GGA, GOONS) over their sphere will not have the strength to enforce them, and their color will be open to immigrant allliances (perhaps some who have been forced off their home color, and now have the opportunity to return). Even colors which have not been formally "stabalized" by a single alliance have most of their eggs in one basket (Blue to ~, White to UjH) and depending on the victor, certain colors will be left with a complete vacuum of power

  8. NpO asked for GOONS assistance as per the Drinking Buddies Pact. GOONS refused to help Polaris, and instead helped Gen[m]ay the alliance who had declared war on Polaris via their protectorate. That sounds like a pretty big treaty breaker to me. we can argue all day about [m]'s DoW being righteous or WUT's precedence over all other treaties, but let's not.

  9. You wanna make an omelette you've got to break a few eggs. With the state of the MDP web before this war broke out, it was inevitable that alliances, who had friends and treaty partners on both sides, would have to make tough decisions. No alliance has enjoyed breaking or cancelling a treaty with one friend to help another, but it has been just about impossible not to. And to say that one side has a monopoly on honoring treaties is rediculous, both have failed miserably in this department. I just find it annoying that everytime someone breaks a treaty to join ~ (The Coalition formerly known as Prince), they are backstabbing scumbags, but if they are joining UjH then they made an honorable decision. Support your side but don't be a hypocrite.

  10. Luckily for FEAR, they are a sovereign alliance, and they don't need to come up with an explanation to their actions which pleases you. if you don't think what they have done is legitimate, then do something about it.

and @ degen- i guess canceling treaties with one side so you can help the other side is honorable, as long as the side you're helping is the Unjust Highway.
