NEWS:

Secretary of Interior Garrett Kimber has made an announcement today for a $5 billion dollar plan to update, upgrade and expand the national infrastructure. Highways will be receiving some minor overhauls. A major project is the reconstruction of water and sewage systems as well as the national power grid. Another major feature will be the installation of nationwide wireless internet service. The new system will be overseen by the newly created Civil Wireless Connection Department; a sub department of the Department of Interior. Heavy security measures have been promised for this new feature. In addition to this private construction companies have declared a major increase in family home construction due to an increasing population. Overall the economy continues to grow and with news of this new expansion the stock market has jumped by 200 points.

The Supreme Court refuses to hear the case about the constitutionality of said law.
Federal Agents have arrested six representatives for public intoxication in the Capital Building in Detroit.

The western border of the country is to be closed and manned by the Army. All reservists are to be activated and the airspace to be actively patrolled by 24 F-22 Raptors on a 12-by-12 rotation. An Electronic Combat Squadron (2 EC-130H), Reconnaissance Squadron (5, E-767), Reconnaissance Squadron (5, RC-135), Air Refueling Squadron (5, KC-767), and Reconnaissance Squadron (10, RQ-4B) are to deploy throughout the country's airspace. The airspace is to remain open from the northern, southern, and eastern corridors under heavy scrutiny. The western corridor is to be closed.

AMERICA IS FREE AGAIN!

Public: Crowds gathered in the new capital city of Detroit to celebrate their new independence. A Constitutional Convention had just ended and the newly-elected Chancellor was George Cabrini. He immediately formed his new government consisting of well rounded and experienced members of civil authority. Chancellor Cabrini would speak from the steps of the Capital Building in Detroit saying, "My fellow Americans! Today our several states once again declare self governance as an independent nation. We welcome the reestablishment of the United States of America to our east, and thank them for their assistance during these times. While a future referendum may occur to reintegrate into the US, we will maintain independence for the time being. We live in a troubled and imperialistic world. But do not fear the foreign powers of aggression. We will stand united and strong in defense of our freedom."

HIGHLY CLASSIFIED MILITARY ACTIONS:

Seeing the Americans were making a bee-line for Mexico, BF-45R fighters stationed at Tampico Military Base would take off and intercept any incoming American aircraft warning them to turn around. An additional 5 B-20 Strategic Bombers would fly the Mexican-American border, with one flying low enough for the Americans to recognize that Mexico was now a protectorate of Brazil. 5 Marine Expeditionary Forces would be deployed to Mexico to provide security and defense for the Holy American Imperium. The Imperial Third Fleet has been ordered to the Atlantic Ocean to conduct patrols in the North and be on heightened alert status. 4x Alpha-Class LCS would be deployed to the Gulf of Mexico to patrol the waters and ensure no foreign warship approached the Mexican coastline.

After much internal deliberation, the High Imperial Council in agreement with Emperor Salvatore have decided to reform the Imperial Government. The Executive will still be led by the High Imperial Council, but will instead consist of Magistrates, led by Chief Magistrate Carmela Vasques The imperial Parliament will be divided into two houses, the Senate and Chamber of Representatives. The Senate will have 200 members, and the Chamber will have 500 members.

An increase in military spending will also take place. Further details to come.
