  1. Is that so? I've taken a look at the charts of Heracles and the Kronos nations "attacking" him. Ever since Kronos has taken full control of the wars against Heracles, he has lost virtually no nation strength. Likewise no damage has been dealt to Kronos by these supposed "rogues." I think Aimee Mann has made quite the observation here, and it is quite obvious that Kronos is doing all that it can to assist these nations in their acts of aggression against several alliances. This is something that some people might call a valid casus belli.

You speak of CBs, and yet you actively recruit from an established (implicitly herein) alliance? Poor form and hypocritical rhetoric, old man. :puppystomp:

edit: Apparently these forums don't even have that smiley. Lame.

    ARTICLE I - Mutual Friendship

Both Legion and CoUNT agree to not flame, bait or insult each other - be it in a public or private venue - but rather act in a respectful manner, even if the other party may have offended them in any way.

    ARTICLE II - Intelligence

Both signatories agree to share any intelligence they have obtained and that could prove useful or vital to the other. Helping one another in counter-espionage is vital to ensure the safety of both signatories, therefore Legion and CoUNT will do everything possible to protect their partner from espionage. If either signatory alliance collects intelligence regarding a security breach or a credible threat concerning the other signa

    ARTICLE III - Non-Aggression

Both signatories agree to not, under any circumstances, attack any member of the other party. Should a member launch an attack on a signatory, the offender's alliance is responsible for stopping the attacks immediately and providing adequate reparations.

    ARTICLE IV - Mutual Defense

Should any of the signatories come under the attack of any third party, they may request assistance by the other signatory to repel said attack. Both signatories must obey said request for assistance with financial aid and/or military action.

    ARTICLE V - Mutual Aggression

Both signatories may request the other to jointly enter a war with any third party or request funding for said war. Following the request is, however, purely optional.

    ARTICLE VI - Cancellation

If a signatory decides to cancel this agreement, they must give the other party 72 hours notice prior to the official cancellation. During the 72 hour time period, all clauses of this treaty continue in full effect.

    Gotya!

    Greetings denizens of Planet Bob,

I come before you today to announce a Declaration of War by the Coalition of United Nuclear Threats against Legion, a very classy alliance.

Yes, it is completely redundant due to the ongoing wars already declared, but who doesn't like a real DoW in a world full of fake ones? Its been a pain dealing with Legion over the last several years, and we're tired of their fake DoW's. I'm not one for grandiose speeches so just keep an eye on the war screen for more info.

Signed for the Coalition of United Nuclear Threats,

  3. At this stage you can, but you can't see the efficiency level other nations wonders are running at.

Hmm... Somehow I get the feeling that this part of the game is going to quickly become "find where the Citadel nations are clustered, and park there." Maybe this should be altered accordingly to create a real necessity for communication and maybe open the doors for a new kind of espionage?

  4. Nothing wrong with a cash sink. Unless you're in a rogue for FAN-style situation, saving beyond a certain point is frivolous and excessive anyway. At lower levels, it doesn't make sense to purchase one of these, but that's why there are existing build orders for young nations to begin with.

  5. I'm looking forward to seeing how this shapes up-- I'm glad to see a new dynamic appearing in the game, even if it does leave some of the former issues unaddressed. Early math made it seem like the lunar base was the way to go, hands down, but it sounds as though that may need reconsidering now... It's nice to have some optimization problems at hand again. Thanks to the gameplay team for the efforts here-- Dissent will always exist, but your time and considerations are appreciated.

  6. I realize that you've only hinted at an additional set of militarily-oriented wonders to complement these, but it would be extremely useful to know the basic theme for each. That is... You defined basic themes for lunar and mars wonders in terms of cost, return, and duration. I know they may not yet be formulated, but knowing the military themes of each type of base would be pivotal in influencing my decision of which to purchase.

  7. I like the naval component having now fought this war. Naval combat moves slowly, but it's a game for the rich. Only the foolish and those with massive war chests to burn will keep up on recouping their naval losses. As infra levels drop, ship capacities fall, as well. While it took almost a full two weeks to put a formidable opponent in a position where I could use battle support mode, the power of doing so was remarkable. After that much time at war, suddenly inflicting additional damage and being able to deploy extra planes was a hard-earned and gratifying reward.

  8. Unfortunately there are some really ignorant people...

Evidently, we should have done the same as with GGA here. Trivial reps were a part of those terms simply because they would shut people up. From what I've seen in that thread, they largely have. It's amazing how much stock people put in a little, "send some cash and tech" just on principle. The terms here are much harsher than those given to GGA, as I see it. If we'd have asked for a meager 300M and 3k tech, this thread would probably be 30 pages shorter. <.<

  9. We'll never let Ender retire-- Let's use the word "sabbatical" instead. ;) Congratulations to Napoleon-- we have the utmost confidence in him and are happy to have him on board in Council. Thanks to all our well wishers, and hopefully our detractors will some day become more articulate and constructive in their grievances. <_<

  10. Airme, this isn't about Valhalla; this is about OV spying on the Order and the Order defending its sovereignty. Valhalla, as a treaty partner of the Order, defended that sovereignty to the best of their ability and has now exited that conflict.

I know this is not what you think this is about for either side, because I didn't take you for a fool.

  11. I have a lot of respect for our opponents in Valhalla. You guys fought a great war, and your attitude during the whole thing made it great fun. Thanks to all of your members, particularly (from my end) Chef Joe, Pansy, Oinkoink12, and Lord Philip.

    o/ Valhalla

  12. When you find out in Trillian that using "/me" actually works for non-IRC communication :P

Haha, so does Adium. It displays *text*.

...You've failed to turn in math homework not because you didn't learn the material, but rather because you found a way that it might be applied to optimize your nation. Happened in both diff. eq. and stats class.

    Edit:

...You wonder how Switzerland has stayed neutral for so long without getting rolled.

OR how the Swiss maintain such a formidable economy after spending so long in Peace Mode.

    (Sorry)

...CN friends are legitimately surprised when you mention RL friends/girlfriend.

  13. From my Experience:

Defcon 2 spies to Defcon 5

Defcon 4 spies to Defcon 2

Haha, unless this was in some sort of war game or test, I'd like to know from whom you had the fortunate pleasure of learning this.
