the politics on the forums were taken less seriously, like before GW2 everyone already knew the sides(with the exception of orrple obviously) and more than likely what alliance had the long standing grudge with whoever else, NAAC vs Polar, Pacifica vs LUE, GOONS vs CDS/LoSS/ACID, the fact we only had probably 15 alliances and only a dozen of those had actual treaties, i actually agree with most people on the number of alliances have inflated so much is adding to the problem, the MP is reflective of the ns inflation issue as well, it was a good solution at the time but now half the game has nukes.

I totally agree with there being too many alliances these days, however I don't think it's a matter of whether people take things to seriously or not. I remember those CDS-GOONs talk being hate-filled and aggravated, or the GWI peace talks discussing crushing reps the equivalent of what you see today. I suppose the sides back then were too even for things like that to happen, I know GWI cost our side a crap ton too.

People taking this game serious is a good thing, it always makes things more interesting when people get emotional :awesome:

It's just the state of the politics and mindsets of a lot of people today I guess. Lots of micro-alliances, way too many treaties that don't seem to mean anything, it just creates a boring and confusing game sometimes

  2. A lot of people debate why the game used to be more interesting. It's no doubt true, personally the time before and around the first Great War was my favorite part of this game, and I know many others will agree with me.

There's a few major reasons why I think this game isn't as fun as it used to be...

Back in the day, you knew who the big alliances were, and what side they were on. They were all huge players on the political field and had very active memberships. You could probably count the major alliances on two hands:

NPO, GATO, LUE, NAAC, GGA, Legion, ODN, NpO, and some major mid-sized alliances.

More players, less alliances. There was always a "cold war" feeling in the air. When one of those big alliances did something, it somehow affected the others, so there was just so much more involvement. Nowadays, an action has to directly involve your alliance for it to be of any concern to you. With so few major players, the political scene was a lot easier and more entertaining to follow. Now there's over 10 trillion alliances and the treaty web, blocs, and so forth just make things so much harder to keep up with for a person who can only devote a little time of their day to this game, and honestly just make a joke out of the politics side of the game, which is what attracted so many people in the first place

This small number of alliances also created "the good cause," I guess. Your single alliance could make all the difference, meaning you could make all the difference, and that's pretty nifty :v:

  3. My citizens are starting to forget all the other letters of the alpahvvvvvvv.

    V? VVV?!?

I got a bunch of "Guy Fawkes" masks in the mail yesterday.

I just don't know who the Hell "Guy Fawkes" is. I'm pretty sure he was a hockey player. Appalachian Nation has used them for hockey masks. Then my people blew up mah Parliament!

My people are such a pain in my $@!.

  4. I love that movie!

As for Vox Populi-It was a line from V for Vendetta, deal with it!

I find it really, really interesting that you use V for Vendetta as your source of inspiration for the alliance. I always thought the main character cared more about getting revenge on the ones who did him wrong then to actually fight "the good fight." But, I probably didn't watch the movie right.

    However, Natalie Portman

  5. Mogar what is your alliance's position on the following:

LUE's reaction to GOONS reaction to FARK

    Public Drama vs Private Channels

    CN's DEFCON system

NPO in relation with Ivan Moldavi

    The OBR and Blackwater

I could use every answer in paragraph form, for organization, thanks. More coming.

  6. ah PC, my old friend. How I miss the days when we'd argue day and night on the green team forums. When Starfox would send me threats through private messages. Those were the days.

It'd be easier to just argue with him then be his PR clean-up crew. Every morning I got on and went to work fixing what he screwed up the night before, usually with NPO
