    Actually I'd love to see those too, even just to know who posted them, if anyone is sending them to DamoElDiablo could they forward them to me too, or else can you send them to me Damo if you get any?

    Thank you for posting that, it is the first time I have seen anything but tiny snippets of the logs. It is pretty damning of the people that carried out the actions in those logs, and I only wish I wasn't at war with so many at once so that I could help pound those involved myself!!!

    The thing is, the whole "You brought it on yourself" clause in the treaty is, well, up for interpretation.

    I interpret it that TDSM8 did not have to enter, naturally. However, I recognize that the clause is worded in such a way that it could be interpreted a different way. From TDSM8's perspective, BAPS did nothing wrong, and it was only the actions of a rouge official. And besides, what's the point in a treaty that never has to be honored? Every single major conflict is because someone offended someone else.

    I had a certain amount of leniency towards TDSM8 because of the possibility of interpretation, and because I am not a fool to think that TDSM8 had the same (and right :P) interpretation.

    The few mistakes TDSM8 made all were apologized for in this thread, and I have accepted their apology. I mean, obviously, mistakes were made, nobody's denying it, but hey, that's war, if they didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't be at war. I for one am willing to move on. I have nothing to gain by continuing to war with an alliance which is sorry for it's actions. BAPS is the culprit here, not TDSM8.

    HeroofTime55 I applaud you for standing up and acknowledging that TDSM8 were only doing what was right from their point of view, and that they should not be punished for that.

    I'd also like to request that if anyone can point me in the direction of the offensive material and OOC attacks that took place in the name of BAPS could they please PM me the details as I'd like to get to the bottom of that one myself too.

    Last but not least, a lil shout out to some of the guys I'm at war with for some great battles (even though I keep inadvertantly funding your war efforts!!! :rolleyes: )

    Congrats on the peace attained so far TDSM8, and good luck with your negotiations with Molon Labe. May they be fair and merciful in their negotiations with you.

    We are suffering for the actions of a few, we do not want to see such a great alliance as TDSM8 dragged down too.

    Thankfully due to your courage in going into this mess in the first place, many alliances got to see how great your alliance is, and may you prosper where we have not.

    You should be proud.

    You're not:

    a ) taking part in what's probably one of the most one-sided battles in CN history

    b ) Jumping on the bandwagon

    c ) betrayed, hung, drawn, quartered and left out to dry by a couple or idiots in your alliance who destroyed things for everyone else.

    OOC: Some of our members did wrong, we accept that and accept what is coming. But WTF with so many taking the thing so seriously? Ya don't get the joke then you need to reassess things before posting...

    I recall fighting for BAPS once. There were and are still are some very good people in this alliance. None are in government. It is a shame.

    Thank you for being one of the very few to acknowledge this. There are too many people jumping on the BAPS kicking bandwagon. There are a few good members of our government too, especially our leader, El Presidente, Moshea.

    Yes, BAPS is at fault here. It may have been a few rogues that caused the whole thing, but we accept that as they were our members, we have to face the hoardes. We tried to find a way out of this, but were denied any fair way out of this war. The many are paying the price for the actions of the few, and we accept that is our fate. The majority of us are honourable, and were appalled and devastated when we found out what had actually happened. The facts were unknown to us till after the war had already begun. A large number of us did go into peacemode so that we could try to ascertain what had happened, and how we could put it right. To be blunt about it, we were never going to get any chance at peace, as some people want us gone.

    We didn't want you in the fray with us TDSM8, as we knew we wouldn't be coming home. But to know you can count on your friends even in the face of such overwhelming odds, it's more than I can put into words. I feel like one of the Spartan warriors in 300. We know we face certain death, yet we still march to battle, to impending doom.

    I could not be prouder to have anyone fight at our side than TDSM8.

    It is people like you that make this game worth playing.

    Boards Alliance of Protectorate States.... it's in their announcement.

    @ Prince Arutha... personally, the 3 BAPS guys who declared on me were the most well-organized bunch i ever fought against. Even when they didnt need to, they still always launched all their attacks simultaneously. On the other hand, we were fighting 6 fronts and they ran around spilling fruit punch without supervision for quite a while.

    Where is there any real-world precedent for these ideas? Sure, we all like to believe James Bond-esque missions are possible, but CN is a "geo-political, nation, and government simulator." Spies rarely blow stuff up; they deal more with intelligence gathering, as has been mentioned in this thread.

    How would a spy be able to steal technology? Grab a computer and then kill every scientist that knows how to make a new one?

    How could I spy destroy a nuke? Sure, I can see tampering with the targeting system so that it couldn't be fired for a day, but even getting into a position where one could do that damage, let alone having the tools and opportunity to cause that damage, is highly unlikely.

    From a player perspective, the idea needs quite a few tweaks. In it's current manifestation, spies will cause chaos and be able to quickly and cheaply negate weeks of work for a nation.

    $200,000 to destroy a nuclear weapon I spent $2,000,000 building? $350,000 to destroy infrastructure it cost me $16,000,000 to build?

    When compared, the prices make even less sense. Why is the difference between a Defcon/government/religion shift - which will only marginally affect a nation - merely $50,000 less than the destruction of a tool which is worth $2,000,000?

    Overall, admin, I'm glad you're building new features for this game. The spy idea has great potential, especially because it can reach nations in peace mode; however, its current iteration needs quite a bit of work and player consultation. Please, take the advice in this thread to heart.

    You guys put up good battles, and was both fun and a pleasure fighting you guys, wasn't easy getting you to anarchy, you put up a hell of a fight.

    Norden Verein has had a single member go rogue on BAPS and launch nuclear weapons as a first strike. We will stick to our word as given, so Hizzy of Sooners is expelled from NoV for violating this policy we have signed.
