You're arguing that their DoW isn't a DoW but is really a DoW. Makes sense, right?
Their denying that poaching is a DoW, while I'm saying that poaching is a DoW depending if the alliance that was poached upon sees it as a DoW.
If the alliance does not see it as a DoW (as GPA saw it) then it's not a DoW, but if an alliance saw it as a DoW then its war.

What I don't get here is that a one of the role playing foundations of an alliance's community is determining their real world courses of action. This isn't Star Wars, this is CN. We play by an entirely different rule book here, and your seasoned line up of members should have mastered it by now.
Real world courses of action? I don't know about you but I think this is a game. and there's no real NPO, NSO, TGR, TJO, NpO, TPF etc. we all know that.
I play this as a game as like many other people, if we die in the game we die and we can come back.
I also don't like your sarcasm.

Very true, we could save ourselves the trouble of posting in reply to your incoherent logic and posts.
oh I was thinking we could use it for your delicquency :P :P
That was to mean for me,
we could also just use it instead of words for every post, it could be like a rating system!

It is not a declaration of war, it is a casus belli. Turn your argument to how weak or strong of a CB it is because it isn't a declaration of war.
casus belli? don't go all spanish on me now....
Wow, it's times like this we need a facepalm smiley.same here, same here.
-
Recruiting from another alliance could technically be classed as declaring war, as by recruiting you are attempting to remove members from whatever alliance. This, in turn, reduces the overall security of an alliance, and as a result weakens the alliance.
So yeah, it's sort of a stretch to make it legitimate, but it can certainly be legitimate.
that's...... a good way to put most of it.....
I think I also said that a few pages back....
-
But you said we declared war on GPA, which is different from poaching them.
no it isn't. although I should be more specific,
A DoW is ,as everyone knows, a Declaration of War.
Poaching, in most cases and depending on how the alliance takes it as, a silent DoW but it's still a DoW
This thread has gone so far off topic it's hilarious!ok..... well I guess I'm glad that I'm entertaining you.... I think.
-
I think my head just exploded
I'd better talk to my CO about the targets I missed then...
That would be good for us all
why? GPA (for some odd reason) didn't take it as a DoW. You realy need to read more past posts.
-
Right there! You didn't see it? A few pages back! I SWEAR VOODOO! YOU KNOW ME! I WOULDN'T LIE!!!1!11oneone
srsly, you must be blind or something.
Are you on my side or theirs? I can't tell.
-
Please point me to where we declared war on GPA.
The poaching, by most definitions, its a DoW.
-
How do you say something about something (see: reply) and not reply at the same time? Just wondering, I'd like to learn the masterful arts. *pulls out a pen and paper* I'm taking notes.
Keep on trucking Silas, I'm sure something will come out of your work someday... somewhere... hopefully.
Edit: for those who don't "get it" the first part of my post is a joke. >.>
What? I dont know what you meant in the first sentence, I understand that it's a joke but I still don't get it and I don't think I want to.
Is that encouragement or sarcasm?
-
My last and first point was/is this:
NSO where fools to do what they did. there should have been larger consequences toward NSO. To many alliances the definition of poaching is a DoW, and I for one would have LOVED to see that. Why? because NSO made a DoW toward GPA and I find that if ANY alliance does that they are subject to war. I'm not just blasting this out to only NSO.
-
But you're not getting your point across.
Therefore, shouldnt you care?
OH MY GOD!!!! AM I SURROUNDED BY ^&%^*&???!!!!
if you don't like the last metapgor then look at the first one, if you don't like that one say so and don't reply anymore.
-
The mere existence of an alliance can cause people to leave their alliance and cause that alliance hurt in NS and infra. Looks like I just found a valid CB for the world.
I know that, but we are talking about if more people switched to NSO instead of their own GOOD alliance.
-
You said you'd leave GTA out of this.
Well, either way, all you're doing is using another metaphor to support your previous metaphor.
that was an accident to put GTA instead of GPA, I'm used to typing GTA not GPA so that's why.
as long as it gets MY point across, I dont care.
-
I also want to say this,
This has nothing to do with the other Frostbite members, this is only towards NSO
-
I am going to decipher what I said in my last metaphor:
Think of NSO as a person and GTA also as a person.this is easy for you to understand
NSO starts talking to GTA,by this i mean sending the recruitment messages.
NSO starts poking fingers (messages, also physically and not speech wise) at GTA.Poke yourself in the chest like two people having an argument and how does it feel? uncomfortable.
The fingers hurt if pressed to hard.what I meant by this was, if more people left GPA it would have hurt them by NS, military strength, infa, etc.
NSO just violated personal space.Get it?
-
These analogies keep getting worse and worse
I'm going to ignore that on.
-
Have what both ways? Molesting being the same as talking, and both being similar enough to sending a pm to make for a proper analogy?
What is a metaphor to you sir?
I can't answer your question until I know what your definition is first.
P.S. Will, your Sig is 9 lines long I would shorten it to 8 because of the mods.
-
Hence the apologies. We have all moved on except for the select few that still choose to argue this.
I never got me chance to argue
I am also talking about NSO sending those messages, and Ivan STILL hasn't apologised for THAT yet, well at least to my knowledge.
So if I get send a trade request to some guy in another alliance, am I invading his personal space? No not at all, there is a difference between a trade and a RECRUITMENT message.
A trade does not require thinking of switching to another alliance while a recruitment message does.
-
double post
stupid computer....
-
How is that any better? Wouldn't your analogy work better if the analogous act were more similar to the one you are trying to compare it to, like say talking being similar to a pm. So pm'ing them would be like NSO going up to a random person and talking to them, just happens the random person didn't want to have that conversation. Seems more reasonable, but I guess that's not the point.
you can have it BOTH ways in my opinion.
-
No, not at all. Please explain it to me without using metaphors. What "rights" did we violate?
The only word I can think of is "Space" you violated the rights of Space. you invaded their territory, insulted their alliance by doing this, need I go on?
I hope this is better then my metaphors because you just don't get metaphors do you?
-
Who is this Obama person you speak of? I cannot find him on my list of rulers. Anyways, if you're displeased with how they chose to handle it, bring it up with them.
I would but we are talking about NSO right now and why this is bad and all.
You leave GTA out of this.Oh my bad, I meant to put in GPA instead I'm very sorry let me correct my posts.
-
You've used a really bad metaphor. It's apparent that you can't explain why you think sending recruitment messages to an alliance "violates their rights." What right is it that is being violated?
Think of NSO as a person and GTA also as a person.
NSO starts talking to GTA, NSO starts poking fingers (messages, also physically and not speech wise) at GTA.
The fingers hurt if pressed to hard.
NSO just violated personal space.
Better?
An apology to the GPA

*shrugs* then I read it wrong/ you made a bad post. I think I'll go with both.
you where? sorry, I didn't see it that way and yes they ALL should have known better.
