We only intended fight our targets but you've given us much loftier stats by contributing your own members and by apparently activating one of your treaties.
Any opportunity for UPN and the Realm to prove the idiocy of Jay Nixon is a welcome opportunity.

To the future of our long, tested friendship.

And now, to complete the trifecta, someone needs to make a blog post about this.

This really didn't require its own thread.

On the contrary. He could have posted his apology in the same thread, and it would have been buried on page six, easily glanced over by people tired of the trolls. Or he could make his statement anew, focus all the barbs in his direction, and (to use a cliche) take it like a man.

Even with that list of gaffes I reiterated, I personally believe Kevanovia to be the better man of everyone here today, and I have communicated as such to Peggy_Sue.

*edit: as awesome as Keve69 & his Grimace smilies are, the thread's about Kevanovia, and it would have been nice if I spelled his name right the first time!

3. It takes a lot of courage to admit fault and post as much in a public setting, especially one that is very much hostile toward your cause. For that, I applaud you.

That said, the foolhardy approach to pursuing merger talks was just that: foolhardy. After just a fortnight in the ranks of UPN, you took it upon yourself to 1) claim to be the MoFA (who is democratically elected*) when you were just a deputy, 2) be the primary spokesperson for the alliance, its government, all its members, and its history, culture, etc., when approaching alliances and asking them, without sufficient regard for their members, history, culture, etc., to abandon that in favour of UPN's, and 3) keep the top dogs out of the loop about this for fear of disappointing them. If I were Peggy_Sue, I'd make it clear to all levels of government that any negotiations regarding possible mergers shouldn't be handled by anyone but her, DonVox, Altheus, and anyone else who has been in UPN for at least a year.

I presume you have learned a lesson through this egg-on-face realisation, and I hope that you'll pick yourself up and focus your enthusiasm on something truly productive for you and your alliance mates.

*And if you were in fact elected, be it MoFA or DMoFA, sounds like anyone wanting to legitimately feck around with Purple can sign up for UPN membership today, run for election, and do ten times more damage than Sir Galahad did in Legion, because I don't see any provision in UPN's charter that requires a minimum duration in UPN before running for office.

4. Talk about desperation. While I'm not thrilled about the manner in which Guru Order made this public, this is just another page in the inevitable collapse of UPN as we know it. If UPN were truly looking to better its alliance for the long term, it would have sought help from the people they decided were their bestest buddies in the whole world: Polaris and ODN, or perhaps swallow their pride and/or paranoia and approached its neighbors in Purple.

Instead, this appears to be a desperate attempt to maintain the UPN name, regardless of the culture, people, and history of themselves and those they're opening contact with by way of throwing darts at a map of Planet Bob whilst blindfolded. There appears to have been no effort to build tighter bridges with whom they already have bridges, nor any effort to rebuild bridges they and/or their erstwhile allies have burned. A competent alliance would have given careful thought and consideration to their own alliance's history and culture before even broaching the subject of a merge with a close friend.

If UPN can't identify and establish a culture worth getting their own people to embrace, let alone nations they hope to recruit, then it's not worth convincing another alliance to join them. I've said for a long time that alliances whose members treat the AA like an insurance policy are destined to fall apart, and frankly, UPN's running on the slogan "you gotta join an alliance, you want to save your precious infra, do both with UPN."

Although this post might have thrown more kerosene on the bridge leading to the Jay Nixon Museum for Observing the Anhydration of Mastic Substances in Edina, I'm more than willing to scrub it off and provide, to the best of my ability, any assistance that UPN may ask of Invicta to identify, establish, and perpetuate UPN's unique culture, if any.

5. I believe I speak for my Invictan compatriots when I say how saddened I am to hear of this loss to the STA community. Our hearts go out to STA & Hans' family as they cope with the unfortunate departure of one of their own.

As commissioner of the Invicta Cricket League, all our games will begin with a moment of silence dedicated to the memory of Hans Zonmyrod, as a show of support for the STA and a reminder of what matters most in (and out of) the Cyberverse.

Za' Sibir.

M-o-m y-o-u-r

The hidden message is clearly an attempt to use backwards masking (or perhaps Yoda-speak) to make....you guessed it....a 'Your Mom' comment.

I am appalled.

Your point being?

When Yo Momma jokes are made:

B2 bombers are launched.
9/11 happens.
Overpasses? explode.
The Brotherhood of Steel advances.

I never knew how dangerous they are :o
I was wondering when that would be broached.

Bad choice of pictures, IMHO. Worse than setting up an unprotected micro with an acronym that's been used in the past, disbanding it and reforming it, all while getting attacked by someone who doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to handle juvenile "NO U" banter.

8. may Justitia and her followers prevail in their endeavour.

also, as a sign of disgust at the pervasive use of caps lock in threads as of late, i shall refrain from the usage of capital letters (except when referring to the powers of Admin Almighty, and also that of my alliance). this is a big deal, seeing as i can be quite type-a when it comes to proper grammar and spelling.

9. Rather sad to see Invicta & Valhalla put away their hula skirts. It was getting kinda chilly on Wall Street, and not to mention Faded Glory was on sale at the Supercenter.

Here's to a continued friendship between our two alliances that doesn't require treaty text, or ideally another one where I come up with a quirky theme.
