  1. Let's not forget that you turtled the entire time and I never nuked because others had more tech. The truth is your weak baby blanket soft nukes did hardly any damage and you expended all your nukes on the person with the least tech. Congratulations, you are horrible at war. Baring a change in strategy you should take a stab at getting your tech up to a meaningful level. Or did you already take a stab?

  2. What people are forgetting is that, since EQ has more nations, they have more potential for tech growth.  Not individually, no, but as a whole.  If we have 3 guys at 10K tech to one of yours at 16K tech, then all three of our guys can reach 13K tech while your guy reaches 19K tech.

    I'll take that trade.

if history is a good indicator then your 10k tech nations will only reach 11k or 12k. there is obviously no great secret to nation building/tech importing, but your side as a whole has never executed it as well as ours. it's probably false to assume you'll all of a sudden be better at it. i don't see how your upper tier is going to be any better off after this than they were before unless you redraw the lines. same with our middle and bottom tiers.

  3. EDIT: To OverlordShin (b/c the quoting system is borked)

Your logic does make sense, if...

...Had it not been for the fact that only two nukes can be purchased per day, and against an SDI opponent, you'll sometimes need more than one nuke to do the job.

In short, that ultra tech only works if you have the nukes. If you get staggered constantly, you'll be only hitting at best two and at worst none, while your opponents nuke then mass GA you.

I've came close to steamrolling a tech heavy fighter who had higher NS but barely any infra compared to mine due to the sheer ground army size I could build, but he simply rebought around 3k of infra to resolve that issue.

Not sure if every DH/CnG/etc fighters can do that repeatedly though.

forgive me if i'm assuming incorrectly, but i imagine you are talking about the war between you and i that just concluded. to say you came close to steamrolling me, except i "simply" rebought infra, is about as ridiculous as saying you would have won had i let you.

you were one of 3 targets i down declared on, and one target was so far down i had to sell off about 3000 infra, decom 4 nukes, and lose my level9 planes in order to hit it. that left me at about 3,000 infra and 21,000 tech. at the start of our war, which was almost entirely 3v1 (you had/could have had the 3, i was the 1), you were at approximately 12,000-13,000 for both infra and tech. you, without a doubt, and despite your high levels of activity, general competence (shout out), and significant infra advantage, got murdered.

    stats from our war: http://www.cybernations.net/war_information.asp?ID=715731

you lost 4 to 5 times the amount of infra, tech, and total strength as i did. now, this doesn't exactly tell the whole story. you weren't the only one who nuked me while you got nuked each day. let's add in the other 2 nations i down declared on, who you either did or should have been coordinating with.

    second target: http://www.cybernations.net/war_information.asp?ID=715732

    third target: http://www.cybernations.net/war_information.asp?ID=715730

collectively i destroyed 22,800 infra, 6,000 tech, and 109K NS.

    i lost 5,000 infra, 1,400 tech, and 28K NS.

collectively i destroyed 4.5 times as much infra, 4 times as much tech, and just under 4 times as much NS. this wasn't close to a steamroll for you, much less a draw. reminder, this was in a 3v1 situation. i was the only target all 3 of you had for all but one day that week. 2 of the nations had significant infra advantages over me (3-4 times at the start), and 2 had at least decent tech levels (probably would be considered really good for your side).

with our war expiring, i'm still at fairly similar levels as i was in the beginning. tech is down a slight amount, and i can afford to rebuy a small amount of infra basically forever. your infra is way down, which was where your only advantage was to begin with. i'm sure you have the the money to rebuy, and start over with that infra advantage, but so what? it didn't work the first time. plus, the next time around you'll be at an ever lower tech level (and comparatively lower than nations like mine as well). that doesn't sound like a recipe for success at all.

in conclusion, yes, i was able to rebuy infra where it is plentifully cheap and complete 3 brutal down declares.

Yeah, that's entirely possible. I never said it wasn't. That doesn't mean you're coalition won't still bawwwwww, though. And I think you are just considering pixel loss, not political loss. MK and friends have a substantial amount of political capital to lose, that SF really....doesnt. That's more what I was really factoring, I guess. But now that I think about it, SF does have less pixels to lose as well.

I could have sworn there was some adage about if you don't have much, you can't lose much. If there is one, I think it fits here. That scenario would certainly be interesting in a not fun kind of way. Why are we talking about this lol? Back on topic: Woo Sparta!

so SF can't lose because they are already horrible? i like that, a positive perspective.
