All I can think after reading some of these posts is that to some, the perception or belief in an ability to claim victory is THE most important thing on Digiterra. I ask that, seriously, does it really matter?? Are the collective sense of well being so much more gratified by a declaration of victory over an opponent after a white peace is declared??
I'll honestly say that my collective opponents in Sparta, Brigade and DT were pounding the snot out of my poor country. Nearly 2 nukes a day and a general ravaging of my poor nation. Would I claim some fallacious title of grandiose meritocratic service and some enhanced sense of maleness for being able to dish it as good as I got, even though I didn't?? I could if I were some of the small minded people here who wanted to see their opponents in ashes as the only sign of victory. Unrealistic and in Freudian babble, a clear manifestation of an weakened, underdeveloped and insecure ego, with a severe need for healthy stimulus.
To those who feel the need, as a member of TOOL, I say you can go ahead and claim absolute domination of my nation. See if my rebuilding efforts are any different. Sheesh! I'm so glad that my opponents had so much more chivalry in them, even as they beat the snot out of me.
o/to the armistice, white peace, victory stealing defeat or whatever you want to call it. People did what they thought was right, and I applaud all the gents and ladies out there. Without you few classy people, this planet would suck monkey ballz
NOTE: This post is not to be seen as condescending to those who are questioning the "legalisms" or interpretations of the treaty. That to me is just curiosity manifested and is clearly a very good thing on the forums.

Seriously though, you have been a blast to fight! I have been truly impressed with your chivalrous actions! Though my infra has not been to happy. But at least once the war is over, we'll have reason to enact a stimulus package.
Also, thanks for your perspective Master, I appreciate the insight and maybe you are right about the "winging". It could be venting of frustration for no one likes to get hammered! Me included!!
When this war is over, I'm going to join your forums and sign up to be a diplomat with y'all. I've really enjoyed getting to know you all, and maybe we should do it over wine rather than nukes! -
Fortunately the opponents that I'm fighting are not nearly so, erm, childish for lack of better words. They understand the nature of the conflict and have been excellent opponents. This has given me, and most of TOOL, a great impression of DT and Sparta. That being said, responding to this mindless drivel of the trolls who are simply just wingeing over lost infra is rather pointless!! They just don't want to lose or accept loss, so they are complaining about the 'unfairness' of action, when frankly, there in no fairness in war.
I personally have been getting hammered by my adversaries and you'll never hear me disparage their prowess or their actions when they are executing appropriately and with decorum. Its the nature of the conflict and we in TOOL knew what we were getting involved in.

I spent a little while in TOOL and loved every bit of it. In TGE I thought I was closer to y'all than anyone else, I know how y'all role and I respect every bit of what you have done. I hope to see y'all come out of this war healthy and with the sanction spot that y'all deserve. Ya-ll are a hard working alliance who have done nothing more than show class and honor throughout the game. My only disappointment is that we are no longer on the same side

I agree that its sad to see TGE and TOOL on different sides, for I have nothing but the highest level of respect for all the Imperial Citizens of the Fatherland. I know TGE has a lot of friends at TOOL and we will miss the ahared beer! Its going to be tough to see so many of the hard worked pixels go bye-bye! But then again it's only pixels and that's the way it is. Some fervently disagree on how TOOL chose to lose those pixels and revel in us being taken down for it. But that's just the mindset of the ornery.

It is so beyond amusing how people love to argue on these forums. TOOL chose a course of action and of COURSE people won't agree. That's the nature of people.
As a member of TOOL, I happen to think it's unfortunate that DT is so much smaller than us. But I'm positive they will fight very well and their allies will justifiably jump to their defense. That's honorable and their choice. I also know as a fact, I'm sure DT will enjoy the battle with us, despite the cost of pixels to all. The rest is just flatulence erupting form the current mindless mobs that want to feel secure by being "right".
I think the fact we are now Satan is so awesome. I've always wanted to be an associate of the dark power, and now I'm it. I didn't even have to sign my soul away. How awesome is that!

Despite the fact that this was a whole lot of self love by Centrino, you have to appreciate the level of effort the Cent man undertook to write this in some clearly legible English!!!! For those who know Centrino well, it's just amazing that he could put it all together!
In terms of size, everyone starts somewhere, even the big boys and girls of alliance-dom began somewhere!

To the points about clarifying the English, point taken.
And the fact that it’s in the wrong place, my sincerest apologies. It was a noob mistake.
My point was simply this. Trying to hide behind a conspiracy theory equates to looking for a rationale for losing or propagating a fallacious viewpoint. If you don't like a major alliance, oppose them, either outright, or through political action. Organize yourself, state your goals, and pursue them with vehemence and determination.
Any note worthy competitor may not like the competition, but they will respect intelligent opposition. Claiming villainy is simply a waste of time. Besides, do you think that opposition will coalesce around a specious argument?? Imagine a rallying cry of “We have proof from IRC that xyz alliance plotted to take over the world.†Mundane is what I think. Besides, if you can take over the world, why wouldn't you??
The sniveling drivel is just an excuse, and as many other powerful organizations have learned to their detriment, a determined opposition can and does prevail. Too often, a conspiracy is credited for epic fails, rather than the numerous blunders, infantile actions and the lack of realization of consequences.
Granted you aren't going to go to a major alliance and declare war on them. But intelligent opposition with realistic goals can garner a large modicum of success. So those raving conspiracy "scholars" should stop fabricating and whingeing.
And yes, I do give a huge Hail to those who can compete with ruthless efficiency. It’s the point of nation building.

It is with some trepidation that I venture forth onto this forum to offer my perspective as a noob. I say this for the vehemence of the subject and the vitriol that will be spewed because of it.
The philosophical question I pose is: What is the cost of success?
I bring this up for there exists tremendous resentment of the successful alliances in the cyber verse, and volumes have been spewed professing one position or another in the myriad nuances of the political sphere. However, one thematic thread pervades, and that is of conspiracy, especially against NPO and NpO. At risk of being called a sop, a sycophant, obsequious or other flames infinitely worse, I will venture a rebuke to the mental pygmies of the conspiracy theorists.
To achieve the level of success the top 10 alliances have achieved requires a level of discipline, organization and tenacity that is often overlooked by many of the rulers of the planet. To the credit of these alliances, they have worked hard to achieve their successes. So the judicious application of diligence to protect that success is not only understood, but expected. The formula to achieve that modicum of success is NOT a mystery, but it takes a master of discipline and organization to achieve that status.
I say all this, not to repeat the obvious, but to tell the conspiracy theorists to desist in their sniveling drivel. I venture that proposing that those who are now enjoying their just fruits of their onerous labor to rollover, is foolish and infantile. It’s not a conspiracy that they seek to expand their influence, it’s expected that they do. Being on top isn’t a cakewalk nor is maintaining the rigor of discipline and organization.
If you or your group truly resent the power of the top alliances, then you should collectively do what it takes to organize yourselves to contend. For the herding cats analogy comes to mind when thinking of how difficult it is to drive a group of individual nations towards one goal.
So the cost of success is high, for it brings forth so much resentment from those who fail to succeed. I salute those who have achieved that level, and seek to replicate it.

Meh... I'm tired of this war. Intelligence goes out the window in it and literally every war front is different from another. So my commenting here has to try and remain objective since I really don't know what went on overall.

No one likes paying reps, but it's war. Victors will demand what they desire, tis the nature of war. No hard feelings, even though as a member of TOOl I'll end up sending a bunch out. However, what really shocks me, is the change in tone of MK. I'd never thought that this alliance who strove to fight 'tyranny' with valor and style could allow its members to convert to trolling. Echoing what the dakotans said, it boggles the mind what TOOL did to have MK members want to troll us so viciously.
Seems to me that the old adage holds true in this case. Power corrupts!
