    No offense intended, but a little more time and effort could have been put into the name and charter. Right now this ranks as one of the worst named alliances and written charters in my opinion.

    I'm sure VE can keep you straight though.

    Figure I'll steal Doctors spotlight here for a tick and get this !@#$ nice and justified.

    Value your creative criticism, but our name was not chosen to satisfy arbitrary thoughtless aesthetics. It's based upon the broader 'Ferretist' culture which existed prior to the creation of the alliance affiliation, and represents a common ground upon which all members stand. It wasn't chosen to establish a witty acronym or to establish a pretty or earnest mystique for our members to play on. We prefer to have our alliance's name established through our actions under the name, not the name in itself.

    As far as the charter goes, it fits our current state of existence; it allows for broad maneuverability under an executive authority, it does not flirt with fruitlessly bureaucracy yet it still allows for accountability. It'll get spit-shined when it's firmly established.

    So they tell you, they say, "Okay Ferrets, what you want?" And you jump up and you say, "Well, it's been so long, we don't know what we want", and then you walk out of the meeting and you're gone and they say, "Well, you Ferrets had your chance, didn't you?"

    Let me tell you what the Greys did.

    Greys went and got Azure, the secretary of State of the Viridian Entente. Azure got his 9mm, that's a pistol. Greys got his shotgun and got some signs and got a hammer. Went down to the OWF, gave his shotgun to Azure, and Azure still had his 9mm. He said, "You hold this shotgun. Anybody mess with us, blow the mother @#$%&! away." He put that sign up.

    That sign said: "The Flying Ferrets announce their existence. We got a protectorate. We Got a charter. Dont @%$# with us."

    The Xtremely Kickass Cool-people's Defense Pact: The Viridian Entente & The Flying Ferrets

    Introduction:

    The VIRIDIAN ENTENTE and The FLYING FERRETS hopes to build and foster a dynamic relationship of honor and integrity through promoting frequent communication, ensuring, encouraging economic growth, and safeguarding common sovereignty of one another.

    To achieve these ends, The VIRIDIAN ENTENTE and The FLYING FERRETS hereby agree to:

    Article I: Peace

    Peace is hereby established between the VIRIDIAN ENTENTE and THE FLYING FERRETS (the "signatory alliances") effective from the exchange of the instruments of ratification of these protocols.

    Article II: Sovereignty

    Both of the signatory alliances and their respective member nations recognize and will respect each other's sovereignty and political independence. They recognize and will respect each other's right to live in peace within their respective alliances. They will develop good neighborly relations of co-operation between them to ensure lasting security. They will refrain from espionage and the threat or use of force against each other and will settle all disputes between them by peaceful means through private channels.

    Article III: Communication

    In signing these protocols, both signatory alliances recognize that full and frank communication is the foundation for a strong and enduring relationship and that there is mutual benefit for both alliances when open communication between them is maintained. To that end, both signatory alliances agree to productive two-way inter-alliance communication:

    a.) The signatory alliances agree that whenever a situation arises which involves provisions within these protocols or other issues of mutual concern; there shall be full and frank communication between the signatory alliances.

    b.) The signatory alliances shall encourage and promote effective methods of dispute resolution between the signatory alliances and their respective member nations.

    c.) The signatory alliances commit to frequent and recurring dialog on each others forums and IRC channels. This commitment is based on the view that open access to each others communication channels is essential to the rapid and efficient inter-alliance communication. This shall include communication at the alliance leadership level where on an as needed basis, representatives of the highest decision making bodies of the signatory alliances will jointly meet to discuss issues of mutual concern.

    d.) The signatory alliances will encourage its member base to engage in routine dialogues and will provide means and channels for ease of access.

    Article IV OVERT HOSTILE ACTIVITIES

    Signatory alliance may not knowingly engage in the use of sanctions against member nations of the other signatory alliance or allies without formal, written permission from the other signatory alliance. Neither signatory alliance shall endorse, fund, approve or engage in military action against the other signatory alliance or its allies. If an individual member nation of either signatory alliance is found in violation of this article, it shall be directed to offer peace and reparations equivalent to a minimum of 1.5 times the total damages inflicted. Though not required, defending nations shall be encouraged to defer reprisal actions until a diplomatic solution can be reached.

    a.) Should the offending member nation of a signatory alliance refuse to offer peace and agree on reparations terms, said member nation will be declared a rogue and will no longer be offered the protection of either signatory alliance.

    b.) If a signatory alliance violates this article, such activity shall be considered an act of war.

    Article V COVERT HOSTILE ACTIVITIES

    Neither signatory alliance shall knowingly endorse, fund, approve or engage in espionage or other covert action against the other signatory alliance or its allies. Both signatory alliances agree not to actively or passively recruit member nations of the other alliance for the purpose of committing espionage. If either signatory alliance collects intelligence regarding a security breach or a credible threat concerning the other signatory alliance, the acquiring signatory alliance will convey all pertinent information in their possession to the other signatory alliance.

    a.) Should a member nation of a signatory alliance violate this article, said member nation will be declared a rogue and will no longer be offered the protection of either signatory alliance.

    b.) If a signatory Alliance violates this article, such activity shall be considered an act of war.

    Article VI RECIPROCAL DEFENSE

    Protectorate: Should THE FLYING FERRETS come under attack by a foreign power, the VIRIDIAN ENTENTE, at the request of THE FLYING FERRETS, shall immediately provide military assistance as well as, but not limited to, financial, political and such other assets it has at its disposal. Should the VIRIDIAN ENTENTE come under attack, THE FLYING FERRETS is encouraged but is not obligated to provide the VIRIDIAN ENTENTE with such assistance as it is able to muster, be it military, political or financial or other assets.

    Article VII - Joint Operations

    Although not obligatory, the signatory alliances may, upon consideration, support one another in offensive activities by means of military, political, financial, or other assets they may have at their disposal.

    Article VIII RECOVERY AID

    In the event of conflict involving only one of the signatory alliances, upon cessation of hostilities and barring other conflicting treaty obligations, the non-combatant signatory alliance shall encourage its individual member nations to voluntarily provide recovery aid to individual member nations of the war-torn signatory alliance.

    In the event of conflict involving both of the signatory alliances, upon cessation of hostilities and barring other conflicting treaty obligations, both signatory alliances shall encourage its individual member nations to voluntarily provide recovery aid to individual member nations of the war-torn signatory alliances regardless of alliance membership.

    Article IX CIVILITY

    Both signatory alliances shall be resolute in their insistence that their respective members remain polite and civil to each other at all times, especially in public forums and other public venues.

    Article X AMENDMENTS

    When this treaty requires revision, the signatory alliances will mutually discuss and agree on new terms. The amended terms to this treaty are effective following a 48-hour amendment activation timeframe. Either signatory alliance may unilaterally revoke the amendment so long as the 48-hour amendment activation timeframe has not concluded.

    Article XI RATIFICATION

    These protocols shall be ratified by both signatory alliances in conformity with their respective procedures.

    Article XI TERMINATION

    Either signatory alliance may terminate this compact at any time by providing the other signatory alliance with a 48 hour notice of intent to terminate. This compact is automatically terminated when either signatory alliance violates Article IV, V or VI of this compact.

    The Flying Ferret Charter

    Leadership

    I. The Flying $@ Of the Ferrets

    The Flying Ferrets will be lead by the Flying $@, who will be responsible for all appointments, policies and announcements for the alliance. The Flying $@ will be hold office until they either step down or die.

    Executive powers

    1. Power to enact policy without prior discussion

    2. Power to expel members at own discretion

    3. Power to enact promotions and demotions at own discretion

    4. Power to amend the charter under the consent of the Council of Noise until otherwise stated

    Deputy Leadership

    II. The Other Guy of the ferrets

    Vice $@, in a way. The other guy takes control in the event of the Flying $@ being absent.

    POWERS. Upon the Flying $@'s absence: The Other Guy will need to discuss all peaceful decisions with the Council of Noises, but should The Flying Ferrets become involved in war the Other Guy will have supreme authority.

    There may be more than one Other Guy at any given time.

    The Council of Noise

    The Council will consist of both members voted in and the Siberian Polecats, and will debate over all aspects of Ferret life and policy.

    They will have limited power to implement their decisions, but they will give the leadership an idea of where the ferret caucus stands in any decisions.

    1. The council has the capacity to hear and expel members based upon a margin of 60%

    LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP

    Level 1. applicants

    Level 2. Rare ferret

    Level 3. Medium Rare ferret: 1 members voted into the council for every 60 members

    Level 4. medium ferret: 1 members voted into the council for every 30 members

    Level 5. Well-done ferret: 1 members voted into the council for every 10 members

    Level 6. Siberian Polecat: All Siberian Polecats are given council permission unless otherwise specified

    Rules

    1. No Ferret is allowed to attack or spy on any nation belonging to an alliance without permission from their superiors. If they are unaligned* god speed! Tech-raids are a protected right, unless it is in part or wholly detrimental to the Flying Ferrets interests and survival.

    2. You're a Flying Ferret. Seriously. Show it with pride; don't change your alliance affiliation and don't try being multi-alliance. Ferrets are free to leave at any time.

    3. Don't help people we don't like.

    4. Don't nuke unless you're given the go-ahead.

    5. No member of The Flying Ferrets shall make, or attempt to make, policy without leadership approval. Don't go making noise unless you're told to.

    6. Always maintain Ferret senses. Never insult people on public Forums or in IRC or say anything dumb (dont contradict announcements, officials etc). Ferrets are love!

    7. Declarations of war shall be idiosyncratic and/or hilarious - Ferrets don't have general disputes.

    These rules are to be followed at all times.

    *Unaligned nations are nations listed as none and/or up to 5 nation alliances and who are not a. in any unaligned protected sphere b. do not have a protectorate and c. are not a tribute nation
