You've clearly forgotten one of the core roots of CPCN, which was the ICP reformation (which was mostly based on SECOM). That failed due to.. some poor planning but CPCN took off perfectly. And CPCN was pretty much dominated by people who were part of the ICPv2, not by it's LSFian roots. I should know :|
Mostly STOLEN from SECOM in my view, and I can say that as a founder and co-leader of SECOM. Members came over to SECOM just for the vote to merge into ICP2.0 if you recall. If you recall also, my roots are not in LSF, although that is my recent home. I wasn't a founder of CPCN, but I was a long time member and joined fairly early on.
Apparently I was one of the few then smart enough to not trust Martens.
As for the failed coup of Demokratikos, do you remember who one of your co-conspirators was?
Even so, Jaki is a changed man, plus, more importantly, he doesn't have Root admin on the forums.

Presumably you are referring to the RL politics of those people. As a extreme leftist I was sickened to learn Nordreich had merged with us. However stopping them from joining when they clearly wish to render assistance is insane. As far as I know none of them are Nazis. If any of them are, I'll fight them every time they try to present those politics into discussion, just as with anything I disagree with. However since this hasn't happened, I couldn't care less what they identify as politically.
Ditto on this.
I almost didn't join because of that.

To imply that ODN did not take advantage of GOONS position is ridiculous. Am I to believe ODN would have declared if the Unjust War hadn't begun? Your CB was a joke and a half, and you had no connecting treaties. That has, throughout the history of CN, been the definition of "bandwagoning."
ODN was in on the planning of the UJW.
Your logic makes no sense as a result of that. To jump on a bandwagon, there has to be a bandwagon. ODN was helping to build the wagon. You can't very well bandwagon without there being a wagon yet.

Spoil is correct that the treaty was voted on. We never went to cancel it due to a variety of real life, and therefore private issues with some government members, and the trial of another member of government. As far as I know, during that time we followed through with the treaty to the best of our ability. And if anybody wants to continue the debate over the polar treaty, and our entry into the war against VP through out GGA MDP, they are free to contact me on irc. I really see no reason to bring this thread so far off topic, and troll it in such a way.
Oh yeah, typing "We hereby give notice that our treaty is canceled pending the 72 hour period" and then hitting post is really, really hard. I mean, so hard that it took me like 4 seconds to do it.

The democracy haters are amusing. TOP was a direct democracy for most of its history and continues to elect all of its leadership and voting body. Democracy is inherently better because you won't get idiots going on power trips and taking their alliances down with them.
You just get power hungry idiots trying to take their own alliance over. Like Demokratikos of CPCN for instance.

Some of the suggestions have been very good. But what you essentially need to make a new alliance actually appeal to people is either...
1) Brown nose a much bigger alliance or bloc (NPO works the best, TPF has been working out pretty well too, BLEU was working, OUT works pretty well)
2) Find a unfilled niche (not another Star Wars alliance for chrissakes). As in you have to find a theme, no generic alliances like MCXA or IRON that have filled the appeal of that type of alliance. Why would people want to join your generic alliance when they can join an established generic alliance?
On to the theme, now this can be accomplished by bringing in an outside community, like FARK or SA, or ripping off a movie, Sparta. You can also have your alliance revolve around guns (FAN). Those are just a couple examples of ones that worked. Strangely the Ninja and Pirates alliances haven't done very well. Star Wars alliances also have sucked. Pot smoker alliance never panned out. You need a good theme, that people can identify with. Something as narrow as say, Batman (which would be sweet), probably isn't going to work because it's a bit to narrow.

I'm sure bros could, but it would hardly matter, since IRC is valued above forums.
I don't even think that matters at all. Our forums really aren't that active right now, probably less than usually actually. However the amount of IRC conversations and the amount of ingame messages has been through the roof.
Forums are pretty slow, clunky and possibly full of spies for them to be very effective during wars such as this. If you want to reach your membership without them having to do lots of work, In game PM's are the way to go. If you want to know what's going on, IRC is where it is at. Forums are for lazy people like me.

Moving back to school is always extremely stressful for me - that, combined with the recent intensification of some of my mental disabilities, has lead me to determine that I can no longer led Andromeda. Recently things have been rather rough for me, and it's affected my leadership.

Yeah I was waiting for that. I'm willing to admit when I've wronged comrades, people who didn't deserve to be wronged. My conscience is quite clear in this war. Anyone who threatens to destroy Pacifica must be wiped off Planet Bob. I'll do my part to make sure that happens.
Some people say conscience. Sure, that answer makes sense. But that's not the only way it works here, you can't actually kill us. A good number of people will ALWAYS be here to tell you you're wrong, even if they're at ZI. Take, for example FAN (unfortunately for the rest of us who have credibility, you must include FAN). It seems as the days go by, NPO increases it's number of trolls exponentially.
Also, for the record my AA history is MK, CPCN, ODN, ICP 2.0 (not by my own choice), SECOM, SWF, ICP.
FYI, I have been on the winning side of war a grand total of once in UJW. It was a strange feeling.

The way I see it there are basically 3 war "fronts" here.
The Hyperion Front, the NpO front and the MK front.
All of the defenders are involved in the Hyperion front and it all escalated from here. But then there is a split between the NpO and MK front.
The attackers obviously get to pick and choose where they fight. Defenders, not so much.

Hey, I'd be for it if someone would design one. Out with the old, in with the... older. I guess. I don't know. Maybe after we get going, we'll just revert to ICP.
I'm trying to find a way to write that into our new constitution actually...

And thanks for the spy attacks whoever is doing it. I'll just save you the trouble, my Warchest is low from the last wars, and I haven't collected for 20 days thanks to a new trading partner not accepting a trade.... Right now I'm sitting at 294 million with 20 days of back collection.
