  1. There wasn't a Mushroom pun you guys could have used for Jihad? Either way, have fun on your neutral rolling I suppose.

You're messing with the funghis now?

    That's all I've got.

Anyway, speaking in a strictly unofficial capacity as far as TDO is concerned, I proclaim thus to the peoples of CN:

    "meh"

  2. The Democratic Order thanks and acknowledges the comments from ADI and fully accepts its apology.

It is true to say that, from TDO's perspective, the birth of ADI was neither a painless nor happy experience as is often the case when strong and valued members of an alliance depart for pastures new. In such circumstances, diplomacy often seems far away and we regret past conduct between our alliances.

We neither condone, nor support the recent attacks on ADI by Semper Tyrannis and we trust that this statement from ADI is something which time alone would have brought them to if given a chance.

We look forward to establishing appropriate and neutral diplomatic relationships with ADI, as we do with any alliance, to enhance the peace within Planet Bob. We fully accept ADI's apology and signature of our Global Declaration of Neutrality.

    Signed

    Beauchamp - Chancellor
    Theo Cupier - Founder/High Senator
Rychro Anrise - Minister of Foreign Affairs
    ARCHEIN - Minister of Defense

  3. Since this is still on the first page of the board, it seems vaguely appropriate to post the following:

I'd like to officially draw this to a conclusion from TDO's perspective.

We have had extensive and productive back channel interactions with various members of NSO which has produced the following specific outcomes:

    1. An apology from NSO - written by Voodoo Nova but - we are reassured - with the official sanction of the alliance. It's quoted below.

As originally posted on TDO's forums:
I am here for three reasons. One, to acknowledge wrongdoing by the NSO. Two, to acknowledge that we challenged TDO's sovereignty as an alliance. Three, to ensure and let TDO know that this stunt won't ever again be done.

I'd like to start off with saying to each member to TDO, it was wrong to send those messages to you. The messages were unwarranted, and you did not deserve the tone in which the messages were written in. The statements and tone were a challenge to your sovereignty. I assure the government of TDO and the members of TDO that this will not happen again and I wish for us to be able to move past this wrongful situation.

Yes, you may consider this official.

    2. NSO have signed our Declaration of Global Neutrality which is available on our forum for your edification. For those of you not utterly conversant with the DoGn (shame on you) it includes the following statement:

Signatories are forbidden to initiate, or provoke another nation to initiate, hostile action against any TDO member state.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that we view incidents similar to this as a "hostile act" but I'm sure that debate will run and run.

Our thanks to all those members of NSO and TDO who contributed to this diplomatic outcome. Our thanks also to those members of other alliances who felt compelled to post messages of support for us or our position. We get extra fuzzy tingle time out of the idea that the Neutral Menace manages to bribe you with popcorn enough to come to our support in such times.

This draws a matter to a close for us and TDO members are asked no longer to post in this thread. Thanks for your time.

    Signed for The Democratic Order

    Rychro Anrise - Chancellor

Theo Cupier - Founder & High Senator

John Warbuck - Minister of Defense & High Senator

PS I'm still waiting for that low level and cursory apology that I didn't get a recruitment message. I'm starting to get afraid of what that says about my nation and we all know what fear leads to...

  4. NSO takes the piss, TDO bites hard, the rest of you bite harder = ZZZZZZ for Grub. NSO is a very naughty alliance who will be confined to the corner without any supper. Happy now? No supper is pretty damn harsh I think.

This is what I figure and it works for me, personally.

I think it'd just be beneficial to hear someone in authority from NSO confirming it was "just for the lulz" and that they're bored and will move on, rather than just making a bunch of assumptions, when there seems to be quite a bit of fur flying around this thread.

My bad if this has happened and I've missed it, btw.

I mean, if people want to make more out of it, then fine. We can have a big debate on whether some of the "accepted norms" of behaviour in CN should remain as accepted, or even normal if that's how people want to play it. But NSO need to come and make clear if they are playing or not.

  5. Firstly, as TDO founder and Aqua senator, I'm personally offended that nobody sent me a recruitment letter.

I demand a low level and cursory apology from somebody over this.

Furthermore, have NSO really thought this through?

I mean, if a whole bunch of whining, debate-laden peacenik Neutrals WERE all to join NSO in a bow-wave, could you cope with us?

Really, you'd end up depressed within days and willing to do anything to disband your alliance within a week or so.

C'mon NSO, this wasn't thought through, was it.

Let's move on and play nice.

Or, dammit, we'll start recruiting your members with a promise of unlimited Neutral Popcorn, or something.

  6. Here are the facts:

    1. A TAE member broke terms of a long standing agreement with TDO

    2. TAE agreed to expel him for a minimum period of 21 days as a result, knowing we would attack

    3. There was no agreement by TDO that attacks would automatically stop at the end of 21 days although TAE have inferred this without confirming it with TDO until too late.

    4. TAE have never produced any corroborated evidence to prove the claim about ending attacks at the end of 21 days.

    5. TAE re-admitted the expelled nation after the bare minimum expulsion period.

    6. This readmission was despite him having active wars, despite knowing he was on an alliance perma-ZI list

    7. TAE are therefore harbouring a rogue. This is their own fault, no-one elses

    8. The TAE member deleted his nation that we were ZI-ing

    9. This person created a new nation which itself violated the terms of the long standing agreement that he had previously signed up to (nation name and ruler name)

    10. While this new nation briefly showed TAE as its AA, it then returned to showing "None".

    11. TDO sanctioned this nation whilst it had no AA

12 TAE chose to admit a sanctioned nation

TDO have been clear that their grievance is only with this one individual. TAE seem incapable of admitting any wrongdoing in this - to which list I would include: admitting a rogue as a member, admitting a sanctioned nation as a member, falsely (whether deliberate or by accident) claiming terms of an agreement

When TDO call them out on this, TAE choose to handle the situation by crying for mother and hiding under the skirts of their protectorate. All pretty pathetic really.

TAE and Echelon have been consistent in their approach that the only valid response here is War on TDO unless we utterly capitulate to their demands.

This is not diplomacy, it's bullying.

I appreciate that this is not the most diplomatic post CN has ever seen, but someone needs to say it.
