    The Ark Premier League, hosted by the Nations Of Ascended Honor (NOAH), is pleased to invite the strongest, the fastest, the best and the brightest of your nation's sports stars to come participate in this open, inter-alliance football (soccer) league. The Ark is boarding for the 9th time, making it one of the longest running leagues in CN. This last season featured divisional play, where the battle for the prestigious Ark Trophy of Glory is waged, and three cups: The NOAH Cup (a home-and-away elimination tournament), the Ark Premier Classic (a single leg elimination neutral site seeded tournament) and the Cup of Redemption (a single leg elimination neutral site random draw tournament). Congratulations to the winners: the Franciscan Monks, who won the NOAH Cup; the Tritonia Tides, who took their first ever trophy with the Ark Premeir Cup; and the VolNation Mighty Volunteers, who finally won a cup tournament in the Cup of Redemption, but also took their unprecedented 6th title. Do you have what it takes to manage and coach your team to a trophy? Come be a part of Ark Premier League and find out! Applications for new nations to join are now being accepted!

    The Ark Premier League is a competitive league hosted on the Xpert Eleven site, which is free to all, so it is easy and quick to learn how to compete. No prior knowledge or ownership of any program is necessary to be competitive. In the league, you manage a team, both in the forming and training of the team, and also in the setting of rosters and tactics for every match. You even have the options of buying and selling talent, as well as developing new players from the youth league. And, of course, you get to match up against other players on the pitch and watch as the games are played out, to see how your carefully selected players compete on the world stage in their quest to win the first ever NOAH Cup and the coveted Ark Trophy of Glory!

    The Ark Premier League is an inter-alliance league, which means it is open to all to join. Follow this link Ark Premier League and search for League ID 112665. Currently, one current club needs a manager, but you have the choice of taking over a current team or creating a new one. Join us for Season 9, discover what football is like on the open seas in the Ark, and be ready for a fun ride!

    Ark Premier League Endorses FIFOB, Liga Mundo, and the FIFOB and Transvaal Worldcups. Looking for a way to boost your FIFOB World Rankings? Two of the top three are in the Ark!

    If you currently do not belong to an alliance, or are looking for a new alliance, feel free to PM Philip The Great on joining NOAH. Membership in NOAH not a requirement for the Ark Premier League

  2. I thought I'd never see the day VolNation hovering over relegation...

    Not sure what happened there. Mind you, I was there too and then we just had this winning streak and BAM! We're second. Shows you the league is very evenly matched.

    Rocket boosters engaged!

    Relegation is about to disappear in the rear view mirror, cause "Here Comes VolNation!!!"

    (Well, maybe next season...)

  3. One thing I want to know is: if Transvaal does win 1st place, would this be the first time a team has ever held the 1st place slot for the entire season? I cannot recall from previous seasons - I guess my question is therefore addressed to VolNation and ALDM.

    color]

    I know that we did not go door to door the first season, but my memory is too fuzzy about the second. I know that it is possible, as I don't remember a time when I was jumped, but I wouldn't contest it if you claimed the first honor.

  4. I am completely aware about VolNation's record against the Springboks.

    But of course, everyone predicted a strong showing by the Big Three - and we're all doing quite poorly... so this is the season of change!

    Come on VolNation!

    * Arcadian waves orange flag

    We aim to please. Beside, Transvaal took us our on our field this season, so we would love to return the favor!

  5. The King of Prince Edward Island requests that all home matches for both Liga Mundo and Ark Premiere can be played at the opponents venue. Nuclear bombs are falling at regular intervals and visiting teams would have to make it through an attacking navy and airforce.

    Sorry for the inconvienence.

    OOC: can someone tell me how many games it takes to get to 100% experience for the year? Is it dependent on age? I have been seriously rebuilding and I have 4 recent pickups that are at 0% with 6 matches left.

    This includes a 19 year old skill 6 forward that came up from the minor leagues today. I would hate to have his skill go down.

    I also have 4 older crappy players at 0 but I have been so busy getting my young and newly acquired players time that they are just going to have to go down.

    In the Ark Premier League, we will gladly play at either a neutral venue or at ours for the regular season matchup. In both our regular season matchup and the first round of the Cup of Redemption on Sunday, we will gladly donate 100% of our portion of the gate in our attempt to help the rebuilding effort.

    As for the other question, there is an algorithm for this that takes into account age and skill level with respect to the ages and skill levels of those you start in that position in each match, as well as an adjustment for the number of matches in the regular season (Cups don't affect this modifyer). While I haven't cracked the code yet, I can tell you that the initial percentage change becomes a good benchmark. Lovas will probably proceed slower than a normal 19 year old as he is your best forward, thus he won't be able to "learn as much" from your veterans. As for your 4 older crappy players, if you don't think that they will get the matches in, consider selling them to gain money to form train your young studs. Always think long term!

  6. Finally... A win.

    I guess we have to start somewhere. Now for three more matches in a row against ALDM. That will cause a headache, with two tough team colliding against each other repeatedly.

    FYI, the Ark Premier League (X11) currently has 2 vacancies if anyone wants to get in. Multiple leagues helps your FIFOB rankings! Look for leagueID 112665. It is now an open league.

  7. APRIL 4, 2009 – CONSOLATION 9th to 16th

    Eskandarian scoring for VolNation

    VolNation 1, Dragonia 0 (1-0 at half)

    VENUE: Unification Stadium, Cape Town

    GAME STATS: Shots: VOL 3; DRA 4; Shots on net: VOL 2; DRA 1; Tackles: VOL 6; DRA 13; Corners: VOL 2; DRA 0; Passing: VOL 93%; DRA 87%; Possession: VOL 52%; DRA 48%

    GOAL SUMMARY: VOL Eskandarian (F) 13

    VolNation finished in 9th Place

    Dragonia finished in 10th Place

    Irlande finished in 11th Place

    Children of Odin finished in 12th Place

    ASSIGNED SQUADS

    VolNation = DC United

    Dragonia = Corinthians

    Irlande = West Bromwich Albion

    Children of Odin = Rosenborg

    How sweet it is!!!!! I'll take 9th!

    I did have a feeling that I had DC United, and I'm glad we did so well!

    Great match Dragonia! We'll pick this back up in the Liga, I'm sure...

  8. And another draw... A come-from behind draw where we had the early lead... Good job Estrella in taking it to us, and I'm glad that we even got a point, given how both teams were playing.

    Now, the challenge - There is a team threatening to run away with it all early in Transvaal, a dangerous club that has had all the pieces and has not put it together in a major way until now. It is now on our shoulders to make sure this stays competitive!

  9. Since Prince Edward Island is still far from a powerhouse on the international football scene, we are very happy with our "best of the rest" finish.

    No goals given up in the qualifying rounds, and then 2 wins with only one total goal given up for the whole tournament is a worthy finish.

    Good luck to the remaining teams.

    Props to the Ark Premier clubs! You are following the track I was on. First year, you struggle but come out all right at the end, the next season you overachieve and make it to the show! We're pulling for you in the next Transvaal Cup, PEI, Tritonia and Checors!!!!!

    Now, to see if we can keep overachieving...

  10. Finally, a defensive stop! I guess we needed to add some Calori's to our defensive diet, as we only allowed 1 shot on goal, and that was a free kick.

    Dragonia, you look like just what the doctor ordered. Now let's see if this carries on to a match with another newcomer who is playing great, Estrella Roja.

    Now, should I start Rojas against the Roja's? ;)

  11. I also thought VolNation (whose TWC squad is generally weaker than any of their other national squads) finished much higher than expected. I figured they'd probably squeak into the Final-16 in the 4th place spot but didn't see them finishing higher than Deutschland or Irlande.

    Frankly, I'm a bit stunned, too. Strengthwise, we should have been buried, but somehow we pulled out the matches we needed to get and then pulled off that stunner against Deutschland. Second place... Amazing!

  12. We beat VolNation! Wow! What a match...

    Only thing I can say is good work to the players and at least we did get our obligatory match with VolNation in the off-season...a week late. But a match nonetheless to extend our rivalry...

    Congrats! Good win for you, even if I am a bit slow in the congrats! Now to read the rest of the thread...

  13. The difference is when VolNation plays a poor game, they just sweep in under the carpet and move along, while when Arcadia plays a poor game, it's a national crisis. I'm amazed how Coach Courtney keeps her job year in year out with all the pressure she must face at the helm.:popcorn:

    It still gets under our skin, though. Our tradition is to win, and draws are just viewed as minus points. Now, if SiPS took out ALDM, we'd feel better... ;)

  14. Man, Tritonia, that is rough. I was just a confused as I thought you were in. :(

    Next time, you should be 4* and hopefully bypass the knockout round.

    As for VolNation, we are happy with our win against Asgard, and less than enthused with out loss against Delta Omega. I guess it could be said that we are playing at our expected level, but I demand better from my team! Go out there and kick some balls! (er... the Football kind... :blush: )
