TheShammySocialist Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 The Timuridian Empire Votes! Ashgabat, GTE - Today, voters go to the polls to elect a new Parliament, a party that garners at least fifty-one percent of the vote will be considered the victors. If a majority is not garnered, a coalition must be formed to rule the government. If a coalition cannot be formed, the Amir will declare a hung election, and will order a re-election. The five parties available are as follows:

Social-Democratic Party of the Timuridian Empire (Social-Democrat)
Timuridian Islamic Action Party (Conservative Islamic)
Timuridian Conservative Union (Conservative)
Orthodox Action Party (Christian Social-Liberal)
Timuridian Socialist Party (Leninist)
The ruling party or coalition will then select a leader from its ranks to be confirmed by the Amir as the Prime Minister, who will act as the main liaison between the Amir and the Legislative Branch. "Initial numbers are giving the Social Democrats the edge, but no one here is leading decisively." "Thank you Katya, it looks like we may not be seeing a majority government, but maybe a coalition, if this keeps up," noted her male broadcasting counterpart. "But the polls are still open, so we'll see how things progress." Edited March 7, 2011 by TheShammySocialist Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 CANN Election Day Broadcast - Amir's Chief of Staff, Prince Emphraim Tolstoy makes Statement "The Amir has expressed some concern that without any party gaining sufficient majority, there may be a declaration of a hung parliament. While the possibility of two parties forming a Coalition may be tangible, the odds of three declaring a coalition are low. We do hope that we may see more hopeful signs before the end of election day." Quote
