Dibbun Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I notice some people are making alliance announcements in blog posts. What are the rules for posting replies in blog posts? May I be politically uncivil as though it were on the OWF? May I mention moderation issues? (like trolling) Is it IC or OOC, and does this depend on if the OP blog post is IC/OOC? Does the blog owner have the ability to delete posts/ban people from posting? If blog posts are 'derailed' (if possible) will a moderator 'lock' the post? Quote
wickedj Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 If you get into moderating blogs you;re asking for alot of trouble. because where do you set the guidelines of what can and cant be in a blog? Is my cheese blog against the rules? is the relgion blog against the rules? Quote

Hecate Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 [quote name='Dibbun' timestamp='1299232312' post='2652324'] I notice some people are making alliance announcements in blog posts. Blogs are a free space for players to write, OOC in IC does not count there. Blog owners do have the ability to enabling an option that forces comments to be reviewed by the blog owner before they can be seen. Blog posts will not be locked if "derailed". To sum it up - self moderation is possible by blog owners and most things on blogs are up to the players. Mentioning Nazism, banned players, moderation issues and other issues that violate the rules is not allowed. Quote
Tocsii Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 To add to what Hecate said, blogs can be a mix of IC and OOC. We treat blog comments the same way we treat profile comments. The main difference being we don't moderate the comments for spam posts or OOC content (as long as it's not otherwise offensive). Excessive flaming, filter evasion, or harassment is still going to land you a warn, but a spam or OOC comment won't. Posters of blogs are free to choose between moderated comments and unmoderated comments, but the comment section is not monitored by moderators for off-topic posting. Quote
