Sincerely, Beth Habberton, Virtus International Customer Service, New Client Division
Quote
Sarah Tintagyl Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 It would be a rather long and hectic flight from Boise to Marseilles, but the moment Angelika had met with the representatives from North America and the Emperor of Holy America, she was looking down at the dark Atlantic Ocean below her. The engines on the wings gently rocking the princess to sleep as all manner of thought about the world drifted from her mind. When the plane finally landed in Southern France, she had little time from exiting the airport before she was expected at Virtus International's headquarters. However, Angelika made enough time to spruce herself up, a wide brim white hat covering her face, a long white dress, with a small black rose pinned to the shoulder. Her hair, dyed blonde with pink streak running down from the top finished the outfit, the combination of rebellion and order all wrapped into one persona. Arriving at the headquarters, The Mistress walked inside, alone, her small change purse in her hands with a blank check to be filled out with whatever amount the mercenaries would desire. Angelika knew that Maria would eventually see the transactions leaving Hapsburg accounts housed in Slavorussia, but she had her own entitlements to the inheritance of their parents and grandparents and that would be used to free the world. Walking to the front desk, she pulled off her sunglasses and smiled at the receptionist. "Excuse me Mademoiselle, I'm sorry to bother you, but I have an appointment with a Miss Habberton at 12:30. I believe she is expecting me. Could you point in the right direction." Quote
Yawoo Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Gilles watched from the comfort of his control room as a woman wearing a white dress and a hat walked into Virtus International's field office. Normally, this wouldn't cause Gilles to zoom in, but a hint of color caught his eye as the woman leaned forward to talk with the receptionist. To his surprise, the woman's hair had a pink streak in it, but this wasn't breast cancer awareness month. For Gilles, the head of the Marseilles field office's security division, this was a red flag and he just couldn't stand red flags. In fact, it could be said that Gilles hated mysteries and oddities. Frowning, he pushed a com button to his right and spoke into it, "Adèle, tell the woman that her appointment is with Gilles as Madame Habberton has taken ill." Exiting his chair, Gilles took his private elevator downstairs without bothering to see if the receptionist responded correctly. On the entrance floor, Adèle's miniature microphone in her ear, conveniently covered by her hair, broadcast what her boss said. Smiling, and not showing anything to betray the unusual change of plans, the receptionist said - in a cheery voice, "Welcome to Virtus International's field office, Mademoiselle. I'm afraid that Madame Habberton has taken ill, so your appointment is going to be with Gilles Viennot, he should be down sh - ah there he is now." Behind what the receptionist presumed was "The Mistress", though she'd never dare publicly make a guess at any of her employer's clients, stood Gilles in all his tailor-made suit glory. As soon as he saw the receptionist's eyes move towards him, Gilles walked towards the lady in the white hat, extending his arm and said, "Mademoiselle, welcome to Virtus International's field office. If you'll follow me, we can begin the meeting in conference room Delta, floor nine." Quote
Sarah Tintagyl Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 "Ah, wonderful, it is an absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance Monsieur Viennot." Angelika said taking his arm as he led her through the various corridors and bright linoleum floors towards the conference room. He seemed gentlemanly enough to be trusted, though he was still a mercenary and at the end of the day, it only mattered how much she was willing to pay him to see her desired objectives completed. She had the money, but she didn't like her ambitions to be undercut for personal gain of a company. But a world that was slowly becoming more hegemonic just meant that she could be one of the few avenues of revenue for the company and this was something Angelika was willing to accept. So long as the money was able to flow, Virtus was an ally, and hopefully the more money that came in, the greater trust could be established. Entering the conference room Angelika took her seat opposite of Gilles and rested her hands on the table. "I don't want to keep you Monsieur as I'm sure you're very busy with other clients, that said, the business venture I would like to hire Virtus to complete is the complete overthrow or destruction of the current regime in the Democratic People's Republic of Maine. North America has been a cesspool of Communist activity as of late and the extension of Maine into such an empire will only make things harder for resistance to that specific ideology. Maine's either inclusion into the side of the reactionaries or eternal chaos for their people are both acceptable conclusions for this venture, just so long as they are some how 'freed' if you will from Red Ideology." The Princess smiled. "And if this venture is as successful as I hope it will be, there will be many more in the future. For a much higher reward." Quote
Yawoo Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Gilles' only hint of his internal action was a slight widening of his pupils, such a contract would run into the billions. This wasn't like their other operation against a little more than backwater of a nation in the Aleutians, such an operation would require massive logistics. Clicking a button underneath his place at the table, a communications department in another part of the building was alerted to began surveillance of the room. The higher ups would need to be notified about this as soon as possible. "Madame, such an operation would cost - depending on the specifics, over a billion and could run into the multi-billions. Are you prepared to pay, in cash, that amount of money?" Quote
Sarah Tintagyl Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 Angelika smiled. "I have the resources in order to pull that kind of money, yes. The question is Monsieur Viennot is will this money be put to good use. Maine, while part of the greater ideological tapestry in the world, is not one of the primary pieces and the Communists have a delightful way of combining all their resources to make sure Red nations, stay Red. If I am going to give such a large sum of money, then there has to be some form of damage done that is either irreversible or enough so that whatever change is inspired by your actions has some semblance of permanence. Other than that," she nodded. "I fully understand the money needed to commit to such an operation." Quote
"With all due respect Madame, if you'd like us to disrupt the current ideological presence of Maine, that can be accomplished. I can not assure you though that the, as you put it, Red Nations will not ensure that Maine stays Red no mater what. What you will be paying a large sum of money for, is one single attack that will utterly destroy the people of Maine while maintaining Virtus International's secrecy. If you commit to this operation, do note, that millions of innocent civilians will die. This is not an operation that will have my company sending troops onto the ground. If you can live with the destruction that is about to occur, then we can proceed." Quote
Sarah Tintagyl Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 "Ah, well, that is too much Monsieur. Not in the cost of money, but in human life. People can't be blamed for their governments mistakes and innocents should not die for some greater cause. I apologize for wasting your and your organization's time." Angelika said and picked up her purse and began to walk out of the conference room. "However, it was a pleasure meeting you. Au revoir." Quote
