TheShammySocialist Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Dispatch to the Greater Nordic Empire
Dear Friends, We would be honored to discuss further relations between our two great countries. As we feel the Nordic Empire is an integral part of Central Asian Stability, and we congratulate it on its reincarnation, we do hope that we can establish amiable relations with our neighbors of the north. We would be amenable to any meeting time or place that you would like to establish as soon as you would like. Sincere Regards, Sham Dawkins Honorable President of the Caspian Clique
Quote
Malatose Posted February 22, 2011 Author Report Posted February 22, 2011 Dispatch to the Caspian Clique
Because of the rebuilding taking place in the capital, we'd like to meet in New Zagreb City. Anytime is acceptable, although we'd like to start this meeting as soon as possible. Until then, we await your arrival. Signed, Jorhan Stahl
Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Dispatch to the Greater Nordic Empire
Of course, we will meet with you in New Zagreb City, as fast as a jet will permit.
After receiving the dispatch from the Greater Nordic Empire, President Sham Dawkins was very hopeful for a new fruitful relationship with his neighbor to the north as he flew to New Zagreb. He was anxious to secure more amiable relations within his region, such relations would assist the economic growth as well as ensure Caspia's security. Recent diplomatic missions both in the UFE and Cochin had been successful, and hopefully this mission would also secure further regional cooperation. Quote
Malatose Posted February 22, 2011 Author Report Posted February 22, 2011 New Zagreb City had been left relatively untouched by the Civil War, which made it the ideal place for the meeting to take place. Throughout the city, a combination of Nordic and Caspian flags were draped along the path from the airport to the official place of the meeting. At the airport, an honor guard of the elite Sons of Perun stood at attention, awaiting the arrival of President Sham Dawkins. Imperial Regent Jorhan Stahl awaited the arrival of the President. When he arrived, he reached forward to shake his hand and led him to the waiting escort, which would take them to the meeting place. Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 "Thank you for inviting me," said Dawkins, to Stahl after exchanging pleasantries before moving to the waiting escort. Dawkins had a small entourage with him, who followed them as they made their way to the caravan that would take them into New Zagreb proper. He remarked further, "What a beautiful city," upon seeing the skyline of New Zagreb from the tarmac of the airport. Quote
Malatose Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 Upon arriving at the palace, the aassembled honour guard began playing the Caspian National Anthem. Stahl saluted the Caspian flag and led Dawkins into the meeting area. "Before we begin, please have a drink of your choice." Stahl motioned for the waitress to pour Dawkins a drink of his choice. "Despite our current situation, we still have access to some of the finest wines in Europe." Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) When the Nordic Anthem was played, Dawkins returned the honor of saluting and recognizing the Nordic flag much in the way Stahl did, out of respect for all that had been done thus far. He was thoroughly impressed by Stahl's hospitality and respect he had shown for himself, as well as the Caspian Nation thus far. Admiring the interior of the palace as they strode to an appointed meeting room, Dawkins felt comfortable and almost felt like his welcome here, had been like a welcome into the home of an old friend, rather then a new acquaintance. "Any white wine will do, please, I do very much like ones of French origin, if one is available," Dawkins nodded, smiling politely, and turning to Stahl. "I thank you for your hospitality, I appreciate it very much. Thank you," he said, as the waitress delivered him a glass. "To your health, my friend, and to your wonderful nation," said Dawkins, raising his glass, before taking a sip. "I hope that reconstruction and the redevelopment of the Nordic Government is going smoothly?" he asked, turning to politics. Edited February 23, 2011 by TheShammySocialist Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 "As we also will reiterate, we are also willing to help in any way necessary to help with the rebuilding and continued stability of the Nordic Empire during its time reemerging as a power in the Central Asian and Eastern European spheres," noted Dawkins, as he sipped his glass of wine. Quote
Malatose Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Stahl nodded and sipped his glass of wine "The reconstruction of Dalmatia is going well. Of course, we are hitting roadblocks here and there, but that is to be expected. While we are concerned about our own well being, our biggest concern is stability in Central Asia. It is calm now, but there are certain powers that would wish to destabilize the area. The relationship between our two countries is prudent to Central Asia, which is why I suggest we strengthen our ties." Stahl stopped for a moment and sipped his wine "I suggest we strengthen our ties by signing a treaty. Only together can we bring stabilization to Central Asia." Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 "Of course, we would be honored to enter a treaty of some sort, with the turbulence of the world at the moment, I believe it would be a prudent move on both our parts," responded Dawkins, with a polite smile. He took a sip out of his wine glass, enjoying the liquid immensely after his fifth plane trip in seventy-two hours. "What sort of agreement would you be looking to enter with us? We are very committed to keeping Central Asia, our homelands, safe from outside interference." Quote
Malatose Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Stahl leaned forward, "Might I suggest a Mutual Defense Pact? Perhaps, we could even take it further and sign a Mutual Defense/Optional Aggression Pact. Either way we ago, we do know for sure that Central Asia will be stabilized." Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 After considering Stahl's offers for a moment, in which Dawkins took another sip of wine, taking a little time to mull things over in his mind, he replied, "I believe that a Mutual Defense/Optional Aggression Pact would provide diplomatic leeway for our countries in managing Central Asia, I believe the Caspian Clique could work with such an agreement." Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 “Also, we were wondering if you would be interested in running an intra-state operated ferry system between our two countries across the Caspian Sea. Such a system would certainly assist travel and business between our two countries. This would include both high-speed passenger ferries, as well as rail ferries that could run into different ports of call,” continued Dawkins, sitting back in his seat. He was very relaxed in Stahl’s presence, while still adjusting to life as a President; Dawkins had slowly come into his own in terms of confidence and navigating the waters of world politics. At twenty-nine, his appearance was in that transition towards middle-age, but it still gave him an appearance of youth. As Dawkins had learned from the business world where he had inherited his fathers’ logistical company following his death, on-the-job experience was always the best. “Such a ferry system would also save on transportation costs of goods being shipped around the Caspian Sea, over a long-term period of time. Especially if those goods were needed in the Western Portion of the Nordic Empire, or the Caucasus.” Quote
Malatose Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 Stahl nodded and reached into his suitcase, pulling out the document. He then presented it to Dawkins.
Article I. A. Both High Contracting Parties obligate themselves to desist from any act of violence, any aggressive action, and any attack on each other, either individually or jointly with other Powers. Article II. A. The Governments of the two High Contracting Parties shall in the future maintain continual contact with one another for the purpose of consultation in order to exchange information on problems affecting their common interests. Article III. A. Should disputes or conflicts arise between the High Contracting Parties over problems of one kind or another, both parties shall settle these disputes or conflicts exclusively through friendly exchange of opinion or, if necessary, through the establishment of arbitration commissions. Article IV A. Should one of the High Contracting Parties become the object of belligerent action by a third Power, the other High Contracting Party shall come to its defense by all means possible. However, neither High Contracting Party is obligated to defend the other as a consequence of treaty chaining. B. Should one of the High Contracting Parties become the driver of belligerent action toward a third Power, the other High Contracting Party shall have the option, but not the obligation, to come to its aid. Article V. A. The present Treaty is concluded for a period of ten years, with the proviso that, in so far as one of the High Contracting Parties does not advance it one year prior to the expiration of this period, the validity of this Treaty shall automatically be extended for another five years. B. Should one of the High Contracting Parties wish to nullify this treaty, they must provide to the other High Contracting Party a notice of at least 72 hours.
Quote
TheShammySocialist Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Dawkins looked over the text of the document for a moment, reviewing it carefully, before looking up at Stahl. "Very good," nodded Dawkins, with a smile, "These terms suit Caspia." Quote
Malatose Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 Stahl nodded and smiled, reaching for his pen. He then signed the document.
Signed for the Greater Nordic Empire On Behalf of the Autarch of the Greater Nordic Empire Imperial Regent, Jorhan Stahl
Quote

TheShammySocialist Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 The Amir stood up and with a smile, nodded, taking his hand and firmly shaking it. "I am glad that we could come to an agreement here, may this be the start of a long and prosperous relationship." Quote
